e91173e375 hwrng: amd - Convert PCIBIOS_* return codes to errnos
commit 14cba6ace7 upstream.

amd_rng_mod_init() uses pci_read_config_dword() that returns PCIBIOS_*
codes. The return code is then returned as is but amd_rng_mod_init() is
a module_init() function that should return normal errnos.

Convert PCIBIOS_* returns code using pcibios_err_to_errno() into normal
errno before returning it.

2b1aec0e6c char: tpm: Fix possible memory leak in tpm_bios_measurements_open()
commit 5d8e2971e8 upstream.

In tpm_bios_measurements_open(), get_device() is called on the device
embedded in struct tpm_chip. In the error path, however, put_device() is
not called. This results in a reference count leak, which prevents the
device from being properly released. This commit makes sure to call
put_device() when the seq_open() call fails.

e977bf4c61 hwrng: core - Fix wrong quality calculation at hw rng registration

When there are rng sources registering at the hwrng core via
hwrng_register() a struct hwrng is delivered. There is a quality
field in there which is used to decide which of the registered
hw rng sources will be used by the hwrng core.

With commit 16bdbae394 ("hwrng: core - treat default_quality as
a maximum and default to 1024") there came in a new default of
1024 in case this field is empty and all the known hw rng sources
at that time had been reworked to not fill this field and thus
use the default of 1024.

The code choosing the 'better' hw rng source during registration
of a new hw rng source has never been adapted to this and thus
used 0 if the hw rng implementation does not fill the quality field.
So when two rng sources register, one with 0 (meaning 1024) and
the other one with 999, the 999 hw rng will be chosen.

As the later invoked function hwrng_init() anyway adjusts the
quality field of the hw rng source, this adjustment is now done
during registration of this new hw rng source.

Tested on s390 with two hardware rng sources: crypto cards and
trng true random generator device driver.

fa6950e4da ipmi: ssif_bmc: prevent integer overflow on 32bit systems

There are actually two bugs here.  First, we need to ensure that count
is at least sizeof(u32) or msg.len will be uninitialized data.

The "msg.len" variable is a u32 that comes from the user.  On 32bit
systems the "sizeof_field(struct ipmi_ssif_msg, len) + msg.len"
addition can overflow if "msg.len" is greater than U32_MAX - 4.

Valid lengths for "msg.len" are 1-254.  Add a check for that to
prevent the integer overflow.

hpet_compat_ioctl and read file operations failed to handle parameters from
32-bit userspace and thus samples/timers/hpet_example.c fails as below.

This patch fixes cmd and arg handling in hpet_compat_ioctl and adds compat
handling for 32-bit userspace in hpet_read.

hpet_example now shows that it works for both 64-bit and 32-bit.

1547183852 tpm_tis_spi: Account for SPI header when allocating TPM SPI xfer buffer

The TPM SPI transfer mechanism uses MAX_SPI_FRAMESIZE for computing the
maximum transfer length and the size of the transfer buffer. As such, it
does not account for the 4 bytes of header that prepends the SPI data
frame. This can result in out-of-bounds accesses and was confirmed with
KASAN.

Introduce SPI_HDRSIZE to account for the header and use to allocate the
transfer buffer.

ec3468221e ppdev: Add an error check in register_device

In register_device, the return value of ida_simple_get is unchecked,
in witch ida_simple_get will use an invalid index value.

To address this issue, index should be checked after ida_simple_get. When
the index value is abnormal, a warning message should be printed, the port
should be dropped, and the value should be recorded.

998f52a860 random: handle creditable entropy from atomic process context
commit e871abcda3 upstream.

The entropy accounting changes a static key when the RNG has
initialized, since it only ever initializes once. Static key changes,
however, cannot be made from atomic context, so depending on where the
last creditable entropy comes from, the static key change might need to
be deferred to a worker.

Previously the code used the execute_in_process_context() helper
function, which accounts for whether or not the caller is
in_interrupt(). However, that doesn't account for the case where the
caller is actually in process context but is holding a spinlock.

This turned out to be the case with input_handle_event() in

According to Guoyong, it's not really possible to refactor the various
drivers to never hold a spinlock there. And in_atomic() isn't reliable.

So, rather than trying to be too fancy, just punt the change in the
static key to a workqueue always. There's basically no drawback of doing
this, as the code already needed to account for the static key not
changing immediately, and given that it's just an optimization, there's
not exactly a hurry to change the static key right away, so deferal is
fine.

1d7317d5b6 tpm,tpm_tis: Avoid warning splat at shutdown

If interrupts are not activated the work struct 'free_irq_work' is not
initialized. This results in a warning splat at module shutdown.

Fix this by always initializing the work regardless of whether interrupts
are activated or not.

ecabe8cd45 hwrng: core - Fix page fault dead lock on mmap-ed hwrng
commit 78aafb3884 upstream.

There is a dead-lock in the hwrng device read path.  This triggers
when the user reads from /dev/hwrng into memory also mmap-ed from
/dev/hwrng.  The resulting page fault triggers a recursive read
which then dead-locks.

Fix this by using a stack buffer when calling copy_to_user.

d84a038fa4 hwrng: geode - fix accessing registers

When the membase and pci_dev pointer were moved to a new struct in priv,
the actual membase users were left untouched, and they started reading
out arbitrary memory behind the struct instead of registers. This
unfortunately turned the RNG into a constant number generator, depending
on the content of what was at that offset.

To fix this, update geode_rng_data_{read,present}() to also get the
membase via amd_geode_priv, and properly read from the right addresses
again.

d0f3994c6a hwrng: bcm2835 - Fix hwrng throughput regression

The last RCU stall fix caused a massive throughput regression of the
hwrng on Raspberry Pi 0 - 3. hwrng_msleep doesn't sleep precisely enough
and usleep_range doesn't allow scheduling. So try to restore the
best possible throughput by introducing hwrng_yield which interruptable
sleeps for one jiffy.

Some performance measurements on Raspberry Pi 3B+ (arm64/defconfig):

sudo dd if=/dev/hwrng of=/dev/null count=1 bs=10000

cpu_relax              ~138025 Bytes / sec
hwrng_msleep(1000)         ~13 Bytes / sec
hwrng_yield              ~2510 Bytes / sec

8f7f35e5aa tpm: Enable hwrng only for Pluton on AMD CPUs
The vendor check introduced by commit 554b841d47 ("tpm: Disable RNG for
all AMD fTPMs") doesn't work properly on a number of Intel fTPMs.  On the
reported systems the TPM doesn't reply at bootup and returns back the
command code. This makes the TPM fail probe on Lenovo Legion Y540 laptop.

Since only Microsoft Pluton is the only known combination of AMD CPU and
fTPM from other vendor, disable hwrng otherwise. In order to make sysadmin
aware of this, print also info message to the klog.

As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they
"temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h
and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include
files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and
replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to
explicitly include the correct includes.

8e03dd62e5 hwrng: iproc-rng200 - Implement suspend and resume calls
Chips such as BCM7278 support system wide suspend/resume which will
cause the HWRNG block to lose its state and reset to its power on reset
register values. We need to cleanup and re-initialize the HWRNG for it
to be functional coming out of a system suspend cycle.

TPM responses may become damaged during transmission, for example due to
bit flips on the wire. Instead of aborting when detecting such issues, the
responseRetry functionality can be used to make the TPM retransmit its

32a0c860ff tpm_tis: Move CRC check to generic send routine
The CRC functionality is initialized before tpm_tis_core, so it can be used
on all code paths within the module. Therefore, move the CRC check to the
generic send routine, that also contains all other checks for successful
command transmission, so that all those checks are in one place.

Also, this ensures that tpm_tis_ready is called when a CRC failure is
detected, to clear the invalid data from the TPM, which did not happen
previously.

a86a42ac2b tpm_tis_spi: Add hardware wait polling
TPM devices may insert wait state on last clock cycle of ADDR phase.
For SPI controllers that support full-duplex transfers, this can be
detected using software by reading the MISO line. For SPI controllers
that only support half-duplex transfers, such as the Tegra QSPI, it is
not possible to detect the wait signal from software. The QSPI
controller in Tegra234 and Tegra241 implement hardware detection of the
wait signal which can be enabled in the controller for TPM devices.

The current TPM TIS driver only supports software detection of the wait
signal. To support SPI controllers that use hardware to detect the wait
signal, add the function tpm_tis_spi_transfer_half() and move the
existing code for software based detection into a function called
tpm_tis_spi_transfer_full(). SPI controllers that only support
half-duplex transfers will always call tpm_tis_spi_transfer_half()
because they cannot support software based detection. The bit
SPI_TPM_HW_FLOW is set to indicate to the SPI controller that hardware
detection is required and it is the responsibility of the SPI controller
driver to determine if this is supported or not.

For hardware flow control, CMD-ADDR-DATA messages are combined into a
single message where as for software flow control exiting method of
CMD-ADDR in a message and DATA in another is followed.

bff24699b9 tpm_tis: Revert "tpm_tis: Disable interrupts on ThinkPad T490s"
Since for MMIO driver using FIFO registers, also known as tpm_tis, the
default (and tbh recommended) behaviour is now the polling mode, the
"tristate" workaround is no longer for benefit.

If someone wants to explicitly enable IRQs for a TPM chip that should be
without question allowed. It could very well be a piece hardware in the
existing deny list because of e.g. firmware update or something similar.

While at it, document the module parameter, as this was not done in 2006
when it first appeared in the mainline.

Nonetheless, this patch is necessary to the goal of promoting this
warning out of W=1.

cacc6e2293 tpm: Add a helper for checking hwrng enabled
The same checks are repeated in three places to decide whether to use
hwrng.  Consolidate these into a helper.

Also this fixes a case that one of them was missing a check in the
cleanup path.

e117e7adc6 tpm/tpm_tis: Disable interrupts for Lenovo P620 devices
The Lenovo ThinkStation P620 suffers from an irq storm issue like various
other Lenovo machines, so add an entry for it to tpm_tis_dmi_table and
force polling.

It is worth noting that 481c2d1462 (tpm,tpm_tis: Disable interrupts after
1000 unhandled IRQs) does not seem to fix the problem on this machine, but
setting 'tpm_tis.interrupts=0' on the kernel command line does.
