drm/bridge: imx: Add i.MX8qm/qxp pixel combiner support
This patch adds a drm bridge driver for i.MX8qm/qxp pixel combiner.
The pixel combiner takes two output streams from a single display
controller and manipulates the two streams to support a number
of modes(bypass, pixel combine, YUV444 to YUV422, split_RGB) configured
as either one screen, two screens, or virtual screens. The pixel
combiner is also responsible for generating some of the control signals
for the pixel link output channel. For now, the driver only supports
the bypass mode.

drm: bridge: Add TI DLPC3433 DSI to DMD bridge
TI DLPC3433 is a MIPI DSI based display controller bridge
for processing high resolution DMD based projectors.

It has a flexible configuration of MIPI DSI and DPI signal
input that produces a DMD output in RGB565, RGB666, RGB888
formats.

It supports upto 720p resolution with 60 and 120 Hz refresh
rates.

Add bridge driver for it.

1e0f66420b drm/display: Introduce a DRM display-helper module
Replace the DP-helper module with a display-helper module. The
support for DisplayPort becomes an internal option that drivers
have to select. Update all related Kconfig and Makefile rules.

Besides the existing code for DisplayPort, the new module will
contain helpers for other video-output standards, such as HDMI.
Drivers will have to select their required video-output helpers.

Linking all display-related code into a single module avoids the
proliferation of small kernel modules.

The module parameters drm_dp_cec_unregister_delay, dp_aux_i2c_speed_khz,
and dp_aux_i2c_transfer_size are moving from the drm_dp_helper namespace
to drm_display_helper.

v2:
	* mention module parameters in commit message (Javier)
	* distiguish between display module and DP support in Kconfig
	* update Makefile rules for DP helpers
	* move Kconfig rules into separate file under display/

drm/bridge: lt9211: Add Lontium LT9211 bridge driver
Add driver for Lontium LT9211 Single/Dual-Link DSI/LVDS or Single DPI to
Single-link/Dual-Link DSI/LVDS or Single DPI bridge. This chip is highly
capable at converting formats, but sadly it is also highly undocumented.

This driver is written without any documentation from Lontium and based
only on shreds of information available in various obscure example codes,
hence long runs of unknown register patches and lengthy delays in various
places. Whichever register meaning could be divined from its behavior has
at least a comment around it.

Currently the only mode tested is Single-link DSI to Single-link LVDS.
Dual-link LVDS might work as well, the register programming is in place,
but is untested.

fb47723aba drm: bridge: icn6211: Convert to regmap
To make debugging easier, convert driver to regmap. Implement read and write
regmap tables for known registers, keep all known register readable and mark
those which are obviously read-only as not writeable.

Use common I2C regmap for the I2C configuration, implement custom regmap bus
for DSI configuration. The later is mandatory as this chip requires one extra
byte set to read access length between register address and data.

drm/bridge: tc358767: Add DSI-to-DPI mode support
The TC358767/TC358867/TC9595 are all capable of operating in multiple
modes, DPI-to-(e)DP, DSI-to-(e)DP, DSI-to-DPI. Add support for the
DSI-to-DPI mode.

This requires skipping most of the (e)DP initialization code, which is
currently a large part of this driver, hence it is better to have far
simpler separate tc_dpi_bridge_funcs and their implementation.

The configuration of DPI output is also much simpler. The configuration
of the DSI input is rather similar to the other TC bridge chips.

The Pixel PLL in DPI output mode does not have the 65..150 MHz limitation
imposed on the (e)DP output mode, so this limitation is skipped to permit
operating panels with far slower pixel clock, even below 9 MHz. This mode
of operation of the PLL is valid and tested.

The detection of bridge mode is now added into tc_probe_bridge_mode(),
where in case a DPI panel is found on port@1 endpoint@1, the mode is
assumed to be DSI-to-DPI. If (e)DP is detected on port@2, the mode is
assumed to be DPI-to-(e)DP.

The DSI-to-(e)DP mode is not supported due to lack of proper hardware,
but this would be some sort of mix between the two aforementioned modes.

This happens if panel-edp.ko has been configured with

which builds DP helpers into the kernel and KMS helpers sa a module.
Making DRM_PANEL_EDP select DRM_KMS_HELPER resolves this problem.

To avoid a resulting cyclic dependency with DRM_PANEL_BRIDGE, don't
make the latter depend on DRM_KMS_HELPER and fix the one DRM bridge
drivers that doesn't already select DRM_KMS_HELPER. As KMS helpers
cannot be selected directly by the user, config symbols should avoid
depending on it anyway.

adb9d5a2cc drm/dp: Move DisplayPort helpers into separate helper module
Move DisplayPort functions into a separate module to reduce the size
of the KMS helpers. Select DRM_DP_HELPER for all users of the code. To
avoid naming conflicts, rename drm_dp_helper.c to drm_dp.c

This change can help to reduce the size of the kernel binary. Some
numbers from a x86-64 test build:

Before:
	drm_kms_helper.ko:	447480 bytes

After:
	drm_dp_helper.ko:	216632 bytes
	drm_kms_helper.ko:	239424 bytes

For early-boot graphics, generic DRM drivers, such as simpledrm,
require DRM KMS helpers to be built into the kernel. Generic helper
functions for DisplayPort take up a significant portion of DRM KMS
helper library. These functions are not used by generic drivers and
can be loaded as a module.

When DRM_CHIPONE_ICN6211 is selected, and DRM_KMS_HELPER is not selected,
Kbuild gives the following warning:

WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for DRM_PANEL_BRIDGE
  Depends on [n]: HAS_IOMEM [=y] && DRM_BRIDGE [=y] && DRM_KMS_HELPER [=n]
  Selected by [y]:
  - DRM_CHIPONE_ICN6211 [=y] && HAS_IOMEM [=y] && DRM [=y] && DRM_BRIDGE [=y] && OF [=y]

This is because DRM_CHIPONE_ICN6211 selects DRM_PANEL_BRIDGE
without depending on or selecting DRM_KMS_HELPER,
despite DRM_PANEL_BRIDGE depending on DRM_KMS_HELPER.

This unmet dependency bug was detected by Kismet,
a static analysis tool for Kconfig.

e9d9f9582c drm/bridge: parade-ps8640: Populate devices on aux-bus
Conventionally, panel is listed under the root of the device tree.
When userland asks for display mode, ps8640 bridge is responsible
for returning EDID when ps8640_bridge_get_edid() is called.

Now enable a new option of listing panel under "aux-bus" of ps8640
bridge node in the device tree. In this case, panel driver can retrieve
EDID by triggering AUX transactions, without ps8640_bridge_get_edid()
calls at all.

To prevent the "old" and "new" options from interfering with each
other's logic flow, disable DRM_BRIDGE_OP_EDID when the new option
is taken.

bf73537f41 drm/bridge: ti-sn65dsi86: Break GPIO and MIPI-to-eDP bridge into sub-drivers
Let's use the newly minted aux bus to break up the driver into sub
drivers. We're not doing a full breakup here: all the code is still in
the same file and remains largely untouched. The big goal here of
using sub-drivers is to allow part of our code to finish probing even
if some other code needs to defer. This can solve some chicken-and-egg
problems. Specifically:
- In commit 48834e6084f1 ("drm/panel-simple: Support hpd-gpios for
delaying prepare()") we had to add a bit of a hack to simpel-panel
to support HPD showing up late. We can get rid of that hack now
since the GPIO part of our driver can finish probing early.
- We have a desire to expose our DDC bus to simple-panel (and perhaps
to a backlight driver?). That will end up with the same
chicken-and-egg problem. A future patch to move this to a sub-driver
  will fix it.
- If/when we support the PWM functionality present in the bridge chip
for a backlight we'll end up with another chicken-and-egg
problem. If we allow the PWM to be a sub-driver too then it solves
  this problem.

I also fixed the indentation.

There are a variety of indentation styles found.

  a) 4 spaces + '---help---'
  b) 7 spaces + '---help---'
  c) 8 spaces + '---help---'
  d) 1 space + 1 tab + '---help---'
  e) 1 tab + '---help---' (correct indentation)
  f) 1 tab + 1 space + '---help---'
  g) 1 tab + 2 spaces + '---help---'

In order to convert all of them to 1 tab + 'help', I ran the
following commend:

  $ find . -name 'Kconfig*' | xargs sed -i 's/^[[:space:]]*---help---/\thelp/'

e7f12054a1 drm/bridge: chrontel-ch7033: Add a new driver
This is a driver for video encoder with VGA and DVI/HDMI outputs.

There is no documentation for the chip -- the operation was guessed from
what was sniffed on a Dell Wyse 3020 ThinOS terminal, the register names
come from the ch7035 driver in Mediatek's GPL code dump.

Only bare minimum is implemented -- no fancy stuff, such as scaling. That
would only worsen our misery. We don't load the firmware and we don't need
to even bother enabling the MCU. There are probably no distributable
firmware images anyway.

Tested with a handful of monitors ranging from 1024x768@75 to 1400x1050@60,
with VGA as well as DVI.

0c275c3017 drm/bridge: Add bridge driver for display connectors
Display connectors are modelled in DT as a device node, but have so far
been handled manually in several bridge drivers. This resulted in
duplicate code in several bridge drivers, with slightly different (and
thus confusing) logics.

In order to fix this, implement a bridge driver for display connectors.
The driver centralises logic for the DVI, HDMI, VGAn composite and
S-video connectors and exposes corresponding bridge operations.

This driver in itself doesn't solve the issue completely, changes in
bridge and display controller drivers are needed to make use of the new
connector driver.
