Commit 7707f7227f09 ("drm/rockchip: Add support for afbc") switched up
the rk3399_vop_big[] register windows, but it did so incorrectly.
The biggest problem is in rk3288_win23_data[] vs.
rk3368_win23_data[] .format field:
RK3288's format: VOP_REG(RK3288_WIN2_CTRL0, 0x7, 1)
RK3368's format: VOP_REG(RK3368_WIN2_CTRL0, 0x3, 5)
Bits 5:6 (i.e., shift 5, mask 0x3) are correct for RK3399, according to
the TRM.
There are a few other small differences between the 3288 and 3368
definitions that were swapped in commit 7707f7227f09. I reviewed them to
the best of my ability according to the RK3399 TRM and fixed them up.
This fixes IOMMU issues (and display errors) when testing with BG24
color formats.

The driver returns an error when devm_phy_optional_get() fails leaving
the previously enabled clock turned on. Change order and enable the
clock only after the phy has been acquired.

Rename struct dma_buf_map to struct iosys_map and corresponding APIs.
Over time dma-buf-map grew up to more functionality than the one used by
dma-buf: in fact it's just a shim layer to abstract system memory, that
can be accessed via regular load and store, from IO memory that needs to
be acessed via arch helpers.
The idea is to extend this API so it can fulfill other needs, internal
to a single driver. Example: in the i915 driver it's desired to share
the implementation for integrated graphics, which uses mostly system
memory, with discrete graphics, which may need to access IO memory.

According to disable Documentation/admin-guide/kernel-parameters.txt, this
parameter can be used to disable kernel modesetting.
DRM drivers will not perform display-mode changes or accelerated rendering
and only the system framebuffer will be available if it was set-up.
But only a few DRM drivers currently check for nomodeset, make this driver
to also support the command line parameter.

Move DisplayPort functions into a separate module to reduce the size
of the KMS helpers. Select DRM_DP_HELPER for all users of the code. To
avoid naming conflicts, rename drm_dp_helper.c to drm_dp.c
This change can help to reduce the size of the kernel binary. Some
numbers from a x86-64 test build:
Before:
drm_kms_helper.ko: 447480 bytes
After:
drm_dp_helper.ko: 216632 bytes
drm_kms_helper.ko: 239424 bytes
For early-boot graphics, generic DRM drivers, such as simpledrm,
require DRM KMS helpers to be built into the kernel. Generic helper
functions for DisplayPort take up a significant portion of DRM KMS
helper library. These functions are not used by generic drivers and
can be loaded as a module.

Allow drm_fbdev_generic_setup() to pick the default bpp value for the

This has no functional impact because the default is 32, given that

Moving the driver-specific mmap code into a GEM object function allows
for using DRM helpers for various mmap callbacks.

Since commit 43c2de1002d2 ("drm/rockchip: dsi: move all lane config except
LCDC mux to bind()"), we perform most HW configuration in the bind()
function. This configuration may be lost on suspend/resume, so we
need to call it again. That may lead to errors like this after system
suspend/resume:

panel-kingdisplay-kd097d04 ff960000.mipi.0: failed write init cmds: -110
Tested on Acer Chromebook Tab 10 (RK3399 Gru-Scarlet).
Note that early mailing list versions of this driver borrowed Rockchip's
downstream/BSP solution, to do HW configuration in mode_set() (which
*is* called at the appropriate pre-enable() times), but that was
discarded along the way. I've avoided that still, because mode_set()
documentation doesn't suggest this kind of purpose as far as I can tell.

In commit 43c2de1002d2 ("drm/rockchip: dsi: move all lane config except
LCDC mux to bind()"), we moved most HW configuration to bind(), but we
didn't move the runtime PM management. Therefore, depending on initial
boot state, runtime-PM workqueue delays, and other timing factors, we
may disable our power domain in between the hardware configuration
(bind()) and when we enable the display. This can cause us to lose
hardware state and fail to configure our display. For example:
dw-mipi-dsi-rockchip ff968000.mipi: failed to write command FIFO

We should match the runtime PM to the lifetime of the bind()/unbind()
cycle.
Tested on Acer Chrometab 10 (RK3399 Gru-Scarlet), with panel drivers
built either as modules or built-in.
Side notes: it seems one is more likely to see this problem when the
panel driver is built into the kernel. I've also seen this problem
bisect down to commits that simply changed Kconfig dependencies, because
it changed the order in which driver init functions were compiled into
the kernel, and therefore the ordering and timing of built-in device
probe.

If hardware is malfunctioning (e.g., misconfigured clocks?), we can get
stuck here forever, holding various DRM locks and eventually locking up
the entire system. It's better to complain loudly and move on, than to
lock up the system.
In local tests, this operation takes less than 20ms.

After commit 928f9e268611 ("clk: fractional-divider: Hide
clk_fractional_divider_ops from wide audience") was merged it appears
that the DSI panel on my Odroid Go Advance stopped working. Upon closer
examination of the problem, it looks like it was the fixup in the
rockchip_drm_vop.c file was causing the issue. The changes made to the
clk driver appear to change some assumptions made in the fixup.
After debugging the working 5.14 kernel and the no-longer working
5.15 kernel, it looks like this was broken all along but still
worked, whereas after the fractional clock change it stopped
working despite the issue (it went from sort-of broken to very broken).
In the 5.14 kernel the dclk_vopb_frac was being requested to be set to
17000999 on my board. The clock driver was taking the value of the
parent clock and attempting to divide the requested value from it
(17000000/17000999 = 0), then subtracting 1 from it (making it -1),
and running it through fls_long to get 64. It would then subtract
the value of fd->mwidth from it to get 48, and then bit shift
17000999 to the left by 48, coming up with a very large number of
7649082492112076800. This resulted in a numerator of 65535 and a
denominator of 1 from the clk driver. The driver seemingly would
try again and get a correct 1:1 value later, and then move on.

I have tested the change extensively on my Odroid Go Advance (Rockchip
RK3326) and it appears to work well. However, this change will affect
all Rockchip SoCs that use this driver so I believe further testing
is warranted. Please note that without this change I can confirm
at least all PX30s with DSI panels will stop working with the 5.15
kernel.
Upon advice from Doug Anderson <dianders@chromium.org> it was decided
that we would first check if the clock rate can be set exactly as
requested, and only if it could not would we then add 999 to it and
attempt the process again. This way we can preserve the behavior for
clocks that still need it while resolving the specific issue for the
PX30 and DSI panels (since it is using a fractional clock).

Commit a25b988ff83f ("drm/bridge: Extend bridge API to disable connector creation")
added DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR bridge flag and all bridges handle
this flag in some way since then.
Newly added bridge drivers must no longer contain the connector creation and
will fail probing if this flag isn't set.
In order to be able to connect to those newly added bridges as well,
make use of drm_bridge_connector API and have the connector initialized
by the display controller.

As discussed at [1] rockchip_drm_endpoint_is_subdriver will currently always
return -ENODEV for non-platform-devices (e.g. external i2c bridges), what
makes them never being considered in rockchip_rgb_init.
As suggested at [1] this additionally adds a of_device_is_available for
the node found, which will work for both platform and non-platform devices.
Also we can return early for non-platform-devices if they are enabled,
as rockchip_sub_drivers contains exclusively platform-devices.

output interface") accidently adds to select the non-existing config
DRM_RGB in ./drivers/gpu/drm/rockchip/Kconfig.

Being informed of a failure to attach a bridge is useful, and many
drivers prints an error message in that case. Move the message to
drm_bridge_attach() to avoid code duplication.

SoCs like the rk3288 and rk3399 have 3 mipi dphys on them. One is TX-
only, one is RX-only and one can be configured to do either TX or RX.
The RX phy is statically connected to the first Image Signal Processor,
the TX phy is statically connected to the first DSI controller and
the TXRX phy is connected to both the second DSI controller as well
as the second ISP.
The RX dphy is controlled externally through registers in the "General
Register Files", while the other two are controlled through the
"Configuration and Test Interface" inside their DSI controller's
io-memory area.
The Rockchip dw-dsi controller already controls these dphys for the
TX case in the driver, but when we want to also allow configuration
for RX to the ISP from the media subsystem we need to expose phy-
functionality instead.
So add a bit of infrastructure to allow the dsi driver to work as a
phy and make sure it can be only one or the other at a time.
Similarly as the dsi-controller will be part of the drm-graph when
active, add an empty component to the drm-graph when in phy-mode
to make the rest of the drm-graph not wait for it.

In a followup patch, we'll need to access the pclk ourself to enable some
functionality, so get and store it in the rockchip dw-dsi variant as well.
Clocks are refcounted, so possible cascading enablements are
no problem.

Print the name of the DRM driver when taking over fbdev devices. Makes
the output to dmesg more consistent. Note that the driver name is only
used for printing a string to the kernel log. No UAPI is affected by this
change.

To reduce memory various Rockchip VOP versions share
common reg structures. However more recent added SoCs not
always have to same futures as the old ones.
Add PX30 missing version info, so all VOP version checks
work correct if needed in the future.

The variable bit_per_pix is a u8 and is promoted in the multiplication
to an int type and then sign extended to a u64. If the result of the
int multiplication is greater than 0x7fffffff then the upper 32 bits will
be set to 1 as a result of the sign extension. Avoid this by casting
tu_size_reg to u64 to avoid sign extension and also a potential overflow.

commit cf6d100dd238 ("drm/rockchip: dsi: add dual mipi support") added
this devcnt field and call to component_del(). However, these both
appear to be erroneous changes left over from an earlier version of the
patch. In the version merged, nothing ever modifies devcnt, meaning
component_del() runs unconditionally and in addition to the
component_del() calls in dw_mipi_dsi_rockchip_host_detach(). The second
call fails to delete anything and produces a warning in dmesg.
If we look at the previous version of the patch[1], however, we see that
it had logic to calculate devcnt and call component_add() in certain
situations. This was removed in v6, and the fact that the deletion code
was not appears to have been an oversight.

When we first enable the DSI encoder, we currently program some per-chip
configuration that we look up in rk3399_chip_data based on the device
tree compatible we match. This data configures various parameters of the
MIPI lanes, including on RK3399 whether DSI1 is slaved to DSI0 in a
dual-mode configuration. It also selects which LCDC (i.e. VOP) to scan
out from.
This causes a problem in RK3399 dual-mode configurations, though: panel
prepare() callbacks run before the encoder gets enabled and expect to be
able to write commands to the DSI bus, but the bus isn't fully
functional until the lane and master/slave configuration have been
programmed. As a result, dual-mode panels (and possibly others too) fail
to turn on when the rockchipdrm driver is initially loaded.
Because the LCDC mux is the only thing we don't know until enable time
(and is the only thing that can ever change), we can actually move most
of the initialization to bind() and get it out of the way early. That's
what this change does. (Rockchip's 4.4 BSP kernel does it in mode_set(),
which also avoids the issue, but bind() seems like the more correct
place to me.)
Tested on a Google Scarlet board (Acer Chromebook Tab 10), which has a
Kingdisplay KD097D04 dual-mode panel. Prior to this change, the panel's
backlight would turn on but no image would appear when initially loading
rockchipdrm. If I kept rockchipdrm loaded and reloaded the panel driver,
it would come on. With this change, the panel successfully turns on
during initial rockchipdrm load as expected.
