NTFS-3G provides the system.ntfs_attrib_be extended attribute, which
has the same value as system.ntfs_attrib but represented in big-endian.
Some utilities rely on the existence of this extended attribute.
Improves compatibility with NTFS-3G by adding the system.ntfs_attrib_be
extended attribute.

The hidedotfiles mount option provides the same functionality as
the NTFS-3G hide_dot_files mount option. As such, it should be
named the same for compatibility with NTGS-3G.
Rename the hidedotfiles to hide_dot_files for compatbility with
NTFS-3G.

Currently, the ntfs3 driver does return the hidedotfiles mount
option in the list of enabled mount options. This can confuse
users who may doubt they enabled the option when not seeing in
the list provided by the mount command.

provided by the mount command when it is enabled.

Currently, the hidedotfiles mount option only has an effect when
creating new files. Removing or adding the starting dot when moving
or renaming files does not update the hidden attribute.
Make hidedotfiles also set or uset the hidden attribute when a file
gains or loses its starting dot by being moved or renamed.

Currently, the hidedotfiles mount option is behaving in the reverse
way of what would be expected: enabling it disables setting the
hidden attribute on files or directories with names starting with a
dot and disabling it enables the setting.
Reverse the behaviour of the hidedotfiles mount option so it matches
what is expected.

The data_size and valid_size fields of non resident attributes should be
less than the its alloc_size field, but this is not checked in
ntfs_read_mft function.
Syzbot reports a allocation order warning due to a large unchecked value
of data_size getting assigned to inode->i_size which is then passed to
kcalloc.
Add sanity check for ensuring that the data_size and valid_size fields
are not larger than alloc_size field.

The current way of setting and getting posix acls through the generic
xattr interface is error prone and type unsafe. The vfs needs to
interpret and fixup posix acls before storing or reporting it to
userspace. Various hacks exist to make this work. The code is hard to
understand and difficult to maintain in it's current form. Instead of
making this work by hacking posix acls through xattr handlers we are
building a dedicated posix acl api around the get and set inode
operations. This removes a lot of hackiness and makes the codepaths
easier to maintain. A lot of background can be found in [1].
The current inode operation for getting posix acls takes an inode
argument but various filesystems (e.g., 9p, cifs, overlayfs) need access
to the dentry. In contrast to the ->set_acl() inode operation we cannot
simply extend ->get_acl() to take a dentry argument. The ->get_acl()
inode operation is called from:
acl_permission_check()
-> check_acl()
-> get_acl()
which is part of generic_permission() which in turn is part of
inode_permission(). Both generic_permission() and inode_permission() are
called in the ->permission() handler of various filesystems (e.g.,
overlayfs). So simply passing a dentry argument to ->get_acl() would
amount to also having to pass a dentry argument to ->permission(). We
should avoid this unnecessary change.
So instead of extending the existing inode operation rename it from
->get_acl() to ->get_inode_acl() and add a ->get_acl() method later that
passes a dentry argument and which filesystems that need access to the
dentry can implement instead of ->get_inode_acl(). Filesystems like cifs
which allow setting and getting posix acls but not using them for
permission checking during lookup can simply not implement
->get_inode_acl().
This is intended to be a non-functional change.

Since some filesystem rely on the dentry being available to them when
setting posix acls (e.g., 9p and cifs) they cannot rely on set acl inode
operation. But since ->set_acl() is required in order to use the generic
posix acl xattr handlers filesystems that do not implement this inode
operation cannot use the handler and need to implement their own
dedicated posix acl handlers.
Update the ->set_acl() inode method to take a dentry argument. This
allows all filesystems to rely on ->set_acl().
As far as I can tell all codepaths can be switched to rely on the dentry
instead of just the inode. Note that the original motivation for passing
the dentry separate from the inode instead of just the dentry in the
xattr handlers was because of security modules that call
security_d_instantiate(). This hook is called during
d_instantiate_new(), d_add(), __d_instantiate_anon(), and
d_splice_alias() to initialize the inode's security context and possibly
to set security.* xattrs. Since this only affects security.* xattrs this
is completely irrelevant for posix acls.

just a wrapper around get_random_u32(). This was done as a basic find

Kernel will tries to read record and parse MFT from disk in
ntfs_read_mft().
Yet the problem is that during enumerating attributes in record,
kernel doesn't check whether run_off field loading from the disk
is a valid value.
To be more specific, if attr->nres.run_off is larger than attr->size,
kernel will passes an invalid argument run_buf_size in
run_unpack_ex(), which having an integer overflow. Then this invalid
argument will triggers the slab-out-of-bounds Read bug as above.
This patch solves it by adding the sanity check between
the offset to packed runs and attribute size.

The ntfs3 file system driver does not convert the target path of
junction points to a proper Linux path. As junction points targets
are always absolute paths (they start with a drive letter), all
junctions will result in broken links.
Translate the targets of junction points to relative paths so they
point to directories inside the mounted volume. Note that Windows
allows junction points to reference directories in another drive.
However, as there is no way to know which drive the junctions refer
to, we assume they always target the same file system they are in.

The bug occours due to a misuse of `attr` variable instead of `attr_b`.
`attr` is being initialized as NULL, then being derenfernced
as `attr->res.data_size`.
This bug causes a crash of the ntfs3 driver itself,
If compiled directly to the kernel, it crashes the whole system.

The xattr code in ntfs3 is currently a bit confused. For example, it
defines a POSIX ACL i_op->set_acl() method but instead of relying on the
generic POSIX ACL VFS helpers it defines its own set of xattr helpers
with the consequence that i_op->set_acl() is currently dead code.
Switch ntfs3 to rely on the VFS POSIX ACL xattr handlers. Also remove
i_op->{g,s}et_acl() methods from symlink inode operations. Symlinks
don't support xattrs.
This is a preliminary change for the following patches which move
handling idmapped mounts directly in posix_acl_xattr_set().
This survives POSIX ACL xfstests.

Pull idmapping fixes from Christian Brauner:
- Since Seth joined as co-maintainer for idmapped mounts we decided to
use a shared git tree. Konstantin suggested we use vfs/idmapping.git
on kernel.org under the vfs/ namespace. So this updates the tree in
the maintainers file.
- Ensure that POSIX ACLs checking, getting, and setting works correctly
for filesystems mountable with a filesystem idmapping that want to
support idmapped mounts.
Since no filesystems mountable with an fs_idmapping do yet support
idmapped mounts there is no problem. But this could change in the
future, so add a check to refuse to create idmapped mounts when the
mounter is not privileged over the mount's idmapping.
- Check that caller is privileged over the idmapping that will be
attached to a mount.
Currently no FS_USERNS_MOUNT filesystems support idmapped mounts,
thus this is not a problem as only CAP_SYS_ADMIN in init_user_ns is
allowed to set up idmapped mounts. But this could change in the
future, so add a check to refuse to create idmapped mounts when the
mounter is not privileged over the mount's idmapping.
- Fix POSIX ACLs for ntfs3. While looking at our current POSIX ACL
handling in the context of some overlayfs work I went through a range
of other filesystems checking how they handle them currently and
encountered a few bugs in ntfs3.
I've sent this some time ago and the fixes haven't been picked up
even though the pull request for other ntfs3 fixes got sent after.
This should really be fixed as right now POSIX ACLs are broken in
certain circumstances for ntfs3.
* tag 'fs.idmapped.fixes.v6.0-rc3' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/vfs/idmapping:
ntfs: fix acl handling
fs: require CAP_SYS_ADMIN in target namespace for idmapped mounts
MAINTAINERS: update idmapping tree
acl: handle idmapped mounts for idmapped filesystems
While looking at our current POSIX ACL handling in the context of some
overlayfs work I went through a range of other filesystems checking how they
handle them currently and encountered ntfs3.
The posic_acl_{from,to}_xattr() helpers always need to operate on the
filesystem idmapping. Since ntfs3 can only be mounted in the initial user
namespace the relevant idmapping is init_user_ns.
The posix_acl_{from,to}_xattr() helpers are concerned with translating between
the kernel internal struct posix_acl{_entry} and the uapi struct
posix_acl_xattr_{header,entry} and the kernel internal data structure is cached
filesystem wide.
Additional idmappings such as the caller's idmapping or the mount's idmapping
are handled higher up in the VFS. Individual filesystems usually do not need to
concern themselves with these.
The posix_acl_valid() helper is concerned with checking whether the values in
the kernel internal struct posix_acl can be represented in the filesystem's
idmapping. IOW, if they can be written to disk. So this helper too needs to
take the filesystem's idmapping.

After the last patch, Smatch reports:
fs/ntfs3/file.c:168 ntfs_extend_initialized_size()
error: uninitialized symbol 'fsdata'.
fsdata is indeed unused. This is not new, but Smatch couldn't see it
before because calls through pagecache_write_begin()/pagecache_write_end()
could theoretically call any implemention of ->write_begin/write_end,
some of which do use fsdata. Now that the calls are direct, Smatch can
see they're never used.
Fix this by simply passing NULL. While ntfs3 does pass this parameter
on to generic functions, those generic functions also never dereference
the fsdata parameter, so it's unnecessary to pass the address of a real
pointer.

Primarily this series converts some of the address_space operations
to take a folio instead of a page.
->is_partially_uptodate() takes a folio instead of a page and changes the
type of the 'from' and 'count' arguments to make it obvious they're bytes.
->invalidatepage() becomes ->invalidate_folio() and has a similar type change.
->launder_page() becomes ->launder_folio()
->set_page_dirty() becomes ->dirty_folio() and adds the address_space as
an argument.
There are a couple of other misc changes up front that weren't worth
separating into their own pull request.

Patch series "remove Xen tmem leftovers".
Since the removal of the Xen tmem driver in 2019, the cleancache hooks
are entirely unused, as are large parts of frontswap. This series
against linux-next (with the folio changes included) removes
cleancaches, and cuts down frontswap to the bits actually used by zswap.
This patch (of 13):
The cleancache subsystem is unused since the removal of Xen tmem driver
in commit 814bbf49dc ("xen: remove tmem driver").

Do it as well here instead of a direct return, otherwise 'log', 'ra' and

Functions gfs2_file_read_iter and gfs2_file_write_iter are both
accessing the user buffer to write to or read from while holding the
inode glock. In the most basic scenario, that buffer will not be
resident and it will be mapped to the same file. Accessing the buffer
will trigger a page fault, and gfs2 will deadlock trying to take the
same inode glock again while trying to handle that fault.
Fix that and similar, more complex scenarios by disabling page faults
while accessing user buffers. To make this work, introduce a small
amount of new infrastructure and fix some bugs that didn't trigger so
far, with page faults enabled.

of bytes not faulted in, similar to copy_to_user, instead of returning a

This supports the existing users that require all pages to be faulted in

Current binary search allocates memory for table and fill whole table
before we start actual binary search. This is quite inefficient because
table fill will always be O(n). Also if table is huge we need to
reallocate memory which is costly.
This implementation use just stack memory and always when table is full
we will check if last element is <= and if not start table fill again.

We do not have headers at all in this file. We should have them so that
not every .c file needs to include all of the stuff which this file need
for building. This way we can remove some headers from other files and
get better picture what is needed. This can save some compilation time.
And this can help if we sometimes want to separate this one big header.
Also use forward declarations for structs and enums when it not included
straight with include and it is used in function declarations input.
This will prevent possible compiler warning:
xxx declared inside parameter list will not be visible
outside of this definition or declaration
Here is list which I made when parsing this. There is not necessarily
all example from this header file, but this just proofs we need it.
<linux/blkdev.h> SECTOR_SHIFT
<linux/buffer_head.h> sb_bread(), put_bh
<linux/cleancache.h> put_page()
<linux/fs.h> struct inode (Just struct ntfs_inode need it)
<linux/highmem.h> kunmap(), kmap()
<linux/kernel.h> cpu_to_leXX() ALIGN
<linux/mm.h> kvfree()
<linux/mutex.h> struct mutex, mutex_(un/try)lock()
<linux/page-flags.h> PageError()
<linux/pagemap.h> read_mapping_page()
<linux/rbtree.h> struct rb_root
<linux/rwsem.h> struct rw_semaphore
<linux/slab.h> krfree(), kzalloc()
<linux/string.h> memset()
<linux/time64.h> struct timespec64
<linux/types.h> uXX, __leXX
<linux/uidgid.h> kuid_t, kgid_t
<asm/div64.h> do_div()
<asm/page.h> PAGE_SIZE
"debug.h" ntfs_err() (Just one entry. Maybe we can drop this)
"ntfs.h" Do you even ask?

We do not have header files at all in this file. Add following headers
and there is also explanation which for it was added. Note that
explanation might not be complete, but it just proofs it is needed.
<linux/blkdev.h> // SECTOR_SHIFT
<linux/build_bug.h> // static_assert()
<linux/kernel.h> // cpu_to_le64, cpu_to_le32, ALIGN
<linux/stddef.h> // offsetof()
<linux/string.h> // memcmp()
<linux/types.h> //__le32, __le16
"debug.h" // PtrOffset(), Add2Ptr()

The variable err is being initialized with a value that is never read, it
is being updated later on. The assignment is redundant and can be removed.

Show options should show option according documentation when some value
is not default or when ever coder wants. Uid/gid are problematic because
it is hard to know which are defaults. In file system there is many
different implementation for this problem.
Some file systems show uid/gid when they are different than root, some
when user has set them and some show them always. There is also problem
that what if root uid/gid change. This code just choose to show them
always. This way we do not need to think this any more.

Rename mount option no_acs_rules to (no)acsrules. This allow us to use
possibility to mount with options noaclrules or aclrules.

Other fs drivers are using iocharset= mount option for specifying charset.
So add it also for ntfs3 and mark old nls= mount option as deprecated.

If we call Opt_nohidden with just keyword hidden, then we can use
hidden/nohidden when mounting. We already use this method for almoust
all other parameters so it is just logical that this will use same
method.

We have now new mount api as described in Documentation/filesystems. We
should use it as it gives us some benefits which are desribed here

Nls loading is changed a to load with string. This did make code also
little cleaner.
Also try to use fsparam_flag_no as much as possible. This is just nice
little touch and is not mandatory but it should not make any harm. It
is just convenient that we can use example acl/noacl mount options.

Use pointer to mount options. We want to do this because we will use new
mount api which will benefit that we have spi and mount options in
different allocations. When we remount we do not have to make whole new
spi it is enough that we will allocate just mount options.
Please note that we can do example remount lot cleaner but things will
change in next patch so this should be just functional.

Remove unnecesarry remount flag handling. This does not do anything for
this driver. We have already set SB_NODIRATIME when we fill super. Also
noatime should be set from mount option. Now for some reson we try to
set it when remounting.
Lazytime part looks like it is copied from f2fs and there is own mount
parameter for it. That is why they use it. We do not set lazytime
anywhere in our code. So basically this just blocks lazytime when
remounting.
