Add list_sort.[ch] from the main kernel tree. The linux/bug.h #include
is removed due to conflicting definitions. Add check-headers and modify
perf build accordingly.

This is a tools/-side patch for the patch that adds the original copy
of the IBS header file, in arch/x86/include/asm/.
We also add an entry to check-headers.sh, so future changes continue
to be copied.
Committer notes:
Had to add this
-#include <asm/msr-index.h>
+#include "msr-index.h"
And change the check-headers.sh entry to ignore this line when diffing
with the original kernel header.
This is needed so that we can use 'perf report' on a perf.data with IBS
data on a !x86 system, i.e. building on ARM fails without this as there
is no asm/msr-index.h there.
This was done on the next patch in this series and is done for things
like Intel PT and ARM CoreSight.

To allow the build to complete on older systems, where those files are
either not uptodate, lacking some recent additions or not present at
all.
And check if the copy drifts from the kernel.
This commit is similar with
commit 12f020338a ("tools: Copy uapi/asm/perf_regs.h from the kernel")
With this commit, we can avoid the following build error in any case:
tools/perf/arch/mips/include/perf_regs.h:7:10:
fatal error: asm/perf_regs.h: No such file or directory
#include <asm/perf_regs.h>

Some headers are not used in building the tools directly, but instead to
generate tables that then gets source code included to do id->string and
string->id lookups for things like syscall flags and commands.
We were adding it directly to tools/include/ and this sometimes gets in
the way of building using system headers, lets untangle this a bit.

That helps us not to lose new protocol families when they are
introduced, replacing that hardcoded, dated family->string table.
To recap what this allows us to do:
# perf trace -e syscalls:sys_enter_socket/max-stack=10/ --filter=family==INET --max-events=1
0.000 fetchmail/41097 syscalls:sys_enter_socket(family: INET, type: DGRAM|CLOEXEC|NONBLOCK, protocol: IP)
__GI___socket (inlined)
reopen (/usr/lib64/libresolv-2.31.so)
send_dg (/usr/lib64/libresolv-2.31.so)
__res_context_send (/usr/lib64/libresolv-2.31.so)
__GI___res_context_query (inlined)
__GI___res_context_search (inlined)
_nss_dns_gethostbyname4_r (/usr/lib64/libnss_dns-2.31.so)
gaih_inet.constprop.0 (/usr/lib64/libc-2.31.so)
__GI_getaddrinfo (inlined)
[0x15cb2] (/usr/bin/fetchmail)
#
More work is still needed to allow for the more natura strace-like
syscall name usage instead of the trace event name:
# perf trace -e socket/max-stack=10,family==INET/ --max-events=1
I.e. to allow for modifiers to follow the syscall name and for logical
expressions to be accepted as filters to use with that syscall, be it as
trace event filters or BPF based ones.
Using -v we can see how the trace event filter is built:
# perf trace -v -e syscalls:sys_enter_socket/call-graph=dwarf/ --filter=family==INET --max-events=2
<SNIP>
New filter for syscalls:sys_enter_socket: (family==0x2) && (common_pid != 41384 && common_pid != 2836)
<SNIP>

Allow use of hashmap in perf. Modify perf's check-headers.sh script to
check that the files are kept in sync, in the same way kernel headers
are checked. This will warn if they are out of sync at the start of a
perf build.
Committer note:
This starts out of synch as a fix went thru the bpf tree, namely the one
removing the needless libbpf_internal.h include in hashmap.h.
There is also another change related to __WORDSIZE, that as is in
tools/lib/bpf/hashmap.h causes the tools/perf/ build to fail in systems
such as Alpine Linus, that uses the Musl libc, so we need an alternative
way of having __WORDSIZE available, use the one used by
tools/include/linux/bitops.h, that builds in all the systems I have
build containers for.
These differences will be resolved at some point, so keep the warning in
check-headers.sh as a reminder.

To address this tools/perf build warning:
Warning: Kernel ABI header at 'tools/include/linux/bits.h' differs from latest version at 'include/linux/bits.h'
diff -u tools/include/linux/bits.h include/linux/bits.h
This clashes with usage of userspace's static_assert(), that, at least
on glibc, is guarded by a ifnded/endif pair, do the same to our copy of
build_bug.h and avoid that diff in check_headers.sh so that we continue
checking for drifts with the kernel sources master copy.
This will all be tested with the set of build containers that includes
uCLibc, musl libc, lots of glibc versions in lots of distros and cross
build environments.
The tools/objtool, tools/bpf, etc were tested as well.

And update linux/linkage.h, which requires in turn that we make these
files switch from ENTRY()/ENDPROC() to SYM_FUNC_START()/SYM_FUNC_END():

tools/perf/arch/arm/tests/regs_load.S
tools/perf/arch/powerpc/tests/regs_load.S

tools/perf/check_headers.sh to ignore those changes when checking if the
kernel original files drifted from the copies we carry.

Decode Xen and KVM's emulate-prefix signature by x86 insn decoder.
It is called "prefix" but actually not x86 instruction prefix, so
this adds insn.emulate_prefix_size field instead of reusing
insn.prefixes.
If x86 decoder finds a special sequence of instructions of
XEN_EMULATE_PREFIX and 'ud2a; .ascii "kvm"', it just counts the
length, set insn.emulate_prefix_size and fold it with the next
instruction. In other words, the signature and the next instruction
is treated as a single instruction.

Since we need to build this in !x86, we need to explicitely use the x86

master copy in the kernel sources, add -I diff directives to ignore just
these differences when checking for drift.

Now that there's a common version of the decoder for all tools, use it
instead of the local copy.
Also use perf's check-headers.sh script to diff the decoder files to
make sure they remain in sync with the kernel version. Objtool has a
similar check.
Committer notes:
Had to keep this all pointing explicitely to x86 headers/files, i.e.
instead of asm/isnn.h we had to use ../include/asm/insn.h when the files
were in differemt dirs, or just replace "<asm/foo.h>" with "foo.h".
This way we continue to be able to process perf.data files with Intel PT
traces in distros other than x86.
Also fixed up the awk script paths to use $(srcdir)/tools/arch instead
or relative directories so that we keep detached tarballs (make help |
grep perf) working.
For now the include lines in these headers are being ignored so as not
to flag false reports of kernel/tools out of sync.

We got the sane_ctype.h headers from git and kept using it so far, but
since that code originally came from the kernel sources to the git
sources, perhaps its better to just use the one in the kernel, so that
we can leverage tools/perf/check_headers.sh to be notified when our copy
gets out of sync, i.e. when fixes or goodies are added to the code we've
copied.
This will help with things like tools/lib/string.c where we want to have
more things in common with the kernel, such as strim(), skip_spaces(),
etc so as to go on removing the things that we have in tools/perf/util/
and instead using the code in the kernel, indirectly and removing things
like EXPORT_SYMBOL(), etc, getting notified when fixes and improvements
are made to the original code.
Hopefully this also should help with reducing the difference of code
hosted in tools/ to the one in the kernel proper.

The '||' path of execution in the 'test' block of the check_2() function
may also be taken if file2 does not exist, in which case the warning
message about the ABI headers being different would still be printed
where it should not be. See below.
% file1=file1; file2=file2
% cmd="echo diff $file1 $file2"
% test -f $file2 && \
eval $cmd || echo "Warning: Kernel ABI header at 'tools/$file1'
differs from latest version at '$file2'" >&2
Warning: Kernel ABI header at 'tools/file1' differs from latest
version at 'file2'
The proposed patch converts the code following the '&&' operator into a
compound list to be executed in the current process environment only if file2
does exist. Should the files being compared differ, a diff command to compare
the files concerned is printed on standard output. E.g.

Add 'check_2' function to check 2 different files, the 'check' function
stays to check files that differs only in the prefix path.
In upcoming changes we need to check header files in locations which
don't follow the prefix logic.

Passing whole string instead of parsing them after. It simplifies
things for the next patches, that adds another function call, which
makes it hard to pass arguments in the correct shape.

Currently the "opts" variable is not zero-ed and we keep on adding to
it, ending up with:
$ check-headers.sh 2>&1
+ opts=' "-B"'
+ opts=' "-B" "-B"'
+ opts=' "-B" "-B" "-B"'
+ opts=' "-B" "-B" "-B" "-B"'
+ opts=' "-B" "-B" "-B" "-B" "-B"'
+ opts=' "-B" "-B" "-B" "-B" "-B" "-B"'
Fix this by initializing it in the check() function, right before
starting the loop.

Will be used for generating the syscall id/string translation table.
Committer notes:
Update it already to catch with these csets applied since Ravi first
submitted this patch:
3350eb2ea1 powerpc: sys_pkey_mprotect() system call
9499ec1b5e powerpc: sys_pkey_alloc() and sys_pkey_free() system calls
So now 'perf trace' on ppc now knows about the pkey_ syscals.

Long ago we decided to be verbotten including files in the kernel git
sources from tools/ living source code, to avoid disturbing kernel
development (and perf's and other tools/) when, say, a kernel hacker
adds something, tests everything but tools/ and have tools/ build
broken.
This got broken recently by s/390, fix it by copying
arch/s390/include/uapi/asm/perf_regs.h to tools/arch/s390/include/uapi/asm/,
making this one be used by means of <asm/perf_regs.h> and updating
tools/perf/check_headers.sh to make sure we are notified when the
original changes, so that we can check if anything is needed on the
tooling side.
This would have been caught by the 'tarkpg' test entry in:
$ make -C tools/perf build-test
When run on a s/390 build system or container.

The regs_query_register_offset() helper function converts
register name like "%r0" to an offset of a register in user_pt_regs
It is required by the BPF prologue generator.
The user_pt_regs structure was recently added to "asm/ptrace.h".
Hence, update tools/perf/check-headers.sh to keep the header file
in sync with kernel changes.

Remove this from check-headers.sh:
opts="--ignore-blank-lines --ignore-space-change"
as the easiest policy is to just follow the upstream UAPI header version 100%.
Pure space-only changes are comparatively rare.
