Remove the static watchdog device variable and use
the 'platform_device_register_simple' helper to
allocate and register the device in one step.
This allows us to save a few bytes in the kernel image.

This series contains changes for the Marvell EBU platforms (mvebu,
orion, kirkwood, dove) that were not part of the first set of pull
requests because of dependencies on the MMC tree, and being submitted
a little late.
Notable changes are:
* More devices get moved out of board files into device tree
descriptions. The remaining devices listed in there have patches
that will get sent for 3.10, after which we can remove a lot of the
board files entirely. We are doing the pinctrl and mmc drivers here,
ethernet and PCI still remain.
* SMP support for mvebu is improved with support for the
local interrupt controller.
* The Guruplug board file gets replaced with a DT description.
Unfortunately, the dependency on the MMC tree turned out to be a much
larger problem than expected, when the MMC maintainer rebased the patches
in his tree that all of the patches in this branch are based on, which
caused merge conflicts between the new and old versions of those patches.
To work around the merge conflicts, this branch rebases all patches
on top of the respective MMC patches that did get merged into 3.9.
The patches are all identical to the versions that were part of
linux-next, but have a new commit date.
Merge conflicts:
* in board-nsa310.c, the gpio.h inclusion was removed prematurely and
put back as a bug fix earlier. With this series it is really not needed
any more.
* The patch to add rtc support was already applied by Andrew Morton,
and conflicts with a second copy that was in this series, which adds
a lot of other devices to arch/arm/boot/dts/armada-370-xp.dtsi.

slightly different format that makes it easier to do derivative board
definitions, but it also introduces a lot of churn in the process since
every line of the file is touched.
On top of that are a handful of the regular changes; enabling more boards
as DT-based instead of legacy board files (mx25pdk), enabling another
driver for devicetree and thus adding bindings (onewire), etc.
I'm not happy about the churn, and will likely not take it for other platforms

The Armada 370 Reference Design board has one SD card slot, directly
connected to the SDIO IP of the SoC, so we enable this IP. there are no
GPIOs for card-detect and write-protect so we do not specify any.

of_serial now has support for using clocks property and we have
a DT clock provider. This patch replaces the hard coded clock-frequency
property with a clocks phandle to tclk.

This master node is an SPI flash controller 'n25q128a13'.
Since there is no 'partitions' node declared, one full sized
partition named as the device will be created.

The Armada 370 and Armada XP SoC has an SPI controller.
This patch adds support for this controller in Armada 370
and Armada XP SoC common device tree files.
Note that the Armada XP SPI register length is 0x50 bytes,
while Armada 370 SPI register length is 0x28 bytes,
so we choose the smaller of the two.

Now that the mvsdio driver has a Device Tree binding, and the SDIO
controller is declared in kirkwood.dtsi, migrate the mplcec4 board to
use the Device Tree to probe the SDIO controller and to mux the pins
of the SDIO interface correctly.
This patch has not been tested, it remains to be tested by a person
having access to the hardware.

The Armada XP DB evaluation board has one SD card slot, directly
connected to the SDIO IP of the SoC, so we add a device tree
description for it.
However, in the default configuration of the board, the SD card slot
is not usable: the connector plugged into CON40 must be changed
against a different one, provided with the board by the
manufacturer. Since such a manual modification of the hardware is
needed, we did not enable the SDIO interface by default, and left it
to the board user to modify the Device Tree if needed. Since this
board is really only an evaluation board for developers and not a
final product, it is not too bad.

The SDIO interface is only available on pins MPP30/31/32/33/34/35 on
the various Armada XP variants, so we provide a pin muxing option for
this in the Armada XP .dtsi files.
Even though those muxing options are the same for MV78230, MV78260 and
MV78460, we keep them in each .dtsi file, because the number of pins,
and therefore the declaration of the pinctrl node, is different for
each SoC variant.

The SDIO interface is available either on pins MPP9/11/12/13/14/15 or
MPP47/48/49/50/51/52 on the Armada 370. Even though all combinations
are potentially possible, those two muxing options are the most
probable ones, so we provide those at the SoC level .dtsi file.
In practice, in turns out the Armada 370 DB board uses the former,
while the Armada 370 Mirabox uses the latter.

This is the new Armada XP evaluation board from Marvell. It comes with
a RS232 port over USB, a SATA link, an internal SSD, 4 Ethernet
Gigabit links.
Support for USB (Host and device), SDIO, PCIe will be added as drivers
when they become available for Armada XP in mainline.

MPIC allows the use of private interrupt for each CPUs. The 28th first

This patch adds the DTS file to support the Marvell RD-A370-A1
(Reference Design board) also known as RD-88F6710 board. It is almost
entirely similar to the DB-A370 board except that the first Ethernet PHY
is SGMII-wired and the second is a switch which is RGMII-wired.

This patch makes the interrupt controller driver more SMP aware for
the Armada XP SoCs. It adds the support for the per-CPU irq. It also
adds the implementation for the set_affinity hook.

In the beginning of DT for Dove it was reasonable to have it close to
non-DT code. With improved DT support, it became more and more difficult
to not break non-DT while changing DT code.
This patch splits up DT board setup and introduces a DOVE_LEGACY config
to allow to remove legacy code for DT-only kernels.

This refreshes the dove_defconfig, and adds:
PRINTK_TIME
DEVTMPFS
EXT4
They're quite useful, and allows booting a cubox ubuntu rootfs on SD card,
since that by default uses ext4.
The rest of the churn is due to options and defaults moving around, no
functional difference.

The OpenBlocks AX3-4 platform has several LEDs, so it sounds wise to
enable LED support in mvebu_defconfig. We anticipate that more
platforms using Marvell EBU SoCs will have LEDs in the future.

The Globalscale Mirabox platform, based on the Armada 370 from
Marvell, has a SD8787 Wireless/Bluetooth chip connected on the SDIO
interface. Now that the mvsdio has a Device Tree binding, and the
necessary Device Tree informations have been added at the SoC and
board level, let's enable the btmrvl driver for the Bluetooth part of
the SD8787 chip.
For now, the driver gets probed correctly, detects the device but
apparently fails to push the firmware to the device:

When the kernel resides in home space and the mvcos instruction is not
available uaccesses for kernel ds happen via simple strnlen() or memcpy()
calls.
This however can break badly, since uaccesses in kernel space may fail as
well, especially if CONFIG_DEBUG_PAGEALLOC is turned on.
To fix this implement strnlen_kernel() and copy_in_kernel() functions
which can only be used by the page table uaccess functions. These two
functions detect invalid memory accesses and return the correct length
of processed data.. Both functions are more or less a copy of the std
variants without sacf calls.
Fixes ipl crashes on 31 bit machines as well on 64 bit machines without
mvcos. Caused by changing the default address space of the kernel being
home space.

The "standard" and page table walk variants of strncpy_from_user() first
check the length of the to be copied string in userspace.
The string is then copied to kernel space and the length returned to the
caller.
However userspace can modify the string at any time while the kernel
checks for the length of the string or copies the string. In result the
returned length of the string is not necessarily correct.
Fix this by copying in a loop which mimics the mvcos variant of
strncpy_from_user(), which handles this correctly.

If the maximum length specified for the to be accessed string for
strncpy_from_user() and strnlen_user() is zero the following incorrect
values would be returned or incorrect memory accesses would happen:
strnlen_user_std() and strnlen_user_pt() incorrectly return "1"
strncpy_from_user_pt() would incorrectly access "dst[maxlen - 1]"
strncpy_from_user_mvcos() would incorrectly return "-EFAULT"
Fix all these oddities by adding early checks.

Always stay within page boundaries when copying from user within
strlen_user_mvcos()/strncpy_from_user_mvcos(). This allows to
shorten the code a bit and may prevent unnecessary faults, since
we copy quite large amounts of memory to kernel space.
Also directly call the mvcos variants of copy_from_user() to
avoid indirect branches.

The physical memory fixmapped for the pvclock clock_gettime vsyscall
was allocated, and thus is not a kernel symbol. __pa() is the proper
method to use in this case.

I'm not sure why, but the hlist for each entry iterators were conceived
list_for_each_entry(pos, head, member)
The hlist ones were greedy and wanted an extra parameter:
hlist_for_each_entry(tpos, pos, head, member)
Why did they need an extra pos parameter? I'm not quite sure. Not only
they don't really need it, it also prevents the iterator from looking
exactly like the list iterator, which is unfortunate.
Besides the semantic patch, there was some manual work required:
- Fix up the actual hlist iterators in linux/list.h
- Fix up the declaration of other iterators based on the hlist ones.
- A very small amount of places were using the 'node' parameter, this
was modified to use 'obj->member' instead.
- Coccinelle didn't handle the hlist_for_each_entry_safe iterator
properly, so those had to be fixed up manually.

ACPI: Overriding ACPI tables via initrd only works with an initrd and on X86
On non-BIOS platforms it is possible that the BIOS data area contains
garbage instead of being zeroed or something equivalent (firmware
people: we are talking of 1.5K here, so please do the sane thing.)
We need on the order of 20-30K of low memory in order to boot, which
may grow up to < 64K in the future. We probably want to avoid the
lowest of the low memory. At the same time, it seems extremely
unlikely that a legitimate EBDA would ever reach down to the 128K
(which would require it to be over half a megabyte in size.) Thus,
pick 128K as the cutoff for "this is insane, ignore." We may still
end up reserving a bunch of extra memory on the low megabyte, but that
is not really a major issue these days. In the worst case we lose
512K of RAM.
This code really should be merged with trim_bios_range() in
arch/x86/kernel/setup.c, but that is a bigger patch for a later merge
window.

ptrace regset interface relies on ELF_NGREG for ceiling the size of user
request. So any larger request (even if legit) would be clipped.
The existing def of ELF_NGREG didn't use user_regs_struct and was
technically one placeholder short (stop_pc) - although the current code
would still work because pt_regs includes a bunch of extra fields,
making
ELF_NGREG >= sizeof(struct user_regs_struct)/sizeof(long)
But we need to remove this ambiguity, specially since pt_regs should NOT
be directly associated with with anything userspace-ish.

The unflattened/binary tree doesn't copy strings through and references
them from orig flat DT - which could cause catestrohpy if of_* APIs are

As we can see, the instruction triggering the exception is the "vmov"
instruction, and we emulate the "vsub.f32 s4, s3, s2" but fail to
properly take account of the FPEXC_FP2V flag in FPEXC. This is because
the test for the second instruction register being valid is bogus, and
will always skip emulation of the second instruction.

This patch removes page_address() usage in IOMMU-aware dma-mapping
implementation and replaced it with direct use of the cpu virtual address
provided by the caller. page_address() returned incorrect address for
pages remapped in atomic pool, what caused memory leak.

Alignment order for a dma iommu buffer is set by buffer size. For
large buffer, it is a waste of iommu address space. So configurable
parameter to limit maximum alignment order can reduce the waste.

IOMMU can provide access to any memory page, so there is no point in
limiting the allocated pages only to lowmem, once other parts of
dma-mapping subsystem correctly supports himem pages.

This patch adds missing pieces to correctly support memory pages served
from CMA regions placed in high memory zones. Please note that the default
global CMA area is still put into lowmem and is limited by optional
architecture specific DMA zone. One can however put device specific CMA
regions in high memory zone to reduce lowmem usage.

This patch adds EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL calls to the three arm iommu
functions - arm_iommu_create_mapping, arm_iommu_free_mapping
and arm_iommu_attach_device. These three functions are arm specific
wrapper functions for creating/freeing/using an iommu mapping and
they are called by various drivers. If any of these drivers need
to be built as dynamic modules, these functions need to be exported.

broke KVM/ARM by removing the user_alloc field from a public structure.
As we only used this field to alert the user that we didn't support
this operation mode, there is no harm in discarding this bit of code

driver, with a much needed module id lookup code improvement.
- The regular wm5102 and arizona cleanups and fixes from Mark Brown.
- Laxman Dewangan extended the palmas APIs in order to implement the palmas
GPIO and rt drivers.
- Laxman also added DT support for the tps65090 driver.
- The Intel SCH and ICH drivers got a couple fixes from Aaron Sierra and
Darren Hart.
- Linus Walleij patchset for the ab8500 driver allowed ab8500 and ab9540 based
devices to switch to the new abx500 pin-ctrl driver.
- The max8925 now has device tree and irqdomain support thanks to Qing Xu.
- The recently added rtsx driver got a few cleanups and fixes for a better

Without this patch any kernel code that reads kernel memory in
non present kernel pte/pmds (as set by pageattr.c) will crash.
With this kernel code:

The lockup happens because _PAGE_GLOBAL and _PAGE_PROTNONE
shares the same bit, and pageattr leaves _PAGE_GLOBAL set on a
kernel pte which is then mistaken as _PAGE_PROTNONE (so
pte_present returns true by mistake and the kernel fault then
gets confused and loops).
With THP the same can happen after we taught pmd_present to
check _PAGE_PROTNONE and _PAGE_PSE in commit
027ef6c878 ("mm: thp: fix pmd_present for
split_huge_page and PROT_NONE with THP"). THP has the same
problem with _PAGE_GLOBAL as the 4k pages, but it also has a
problem with _PAGE_PSE, which must be cleared too.
After the patch is applied copy_user correctly returns -EFAULT
and doesn't lockup anymore.

I got a report for a minor regression introduced by commit
027ef6c878 ("mm: thp: fix pmd_present for split_huge_page and
PROT_NONE with THP").
So the problem is, pageattr creates kernel pagetables (pte and
pmds) that breaks pte_present/pmd_present and the patch above
exposed this invariant breakage for pmd_present.
The same problem already existed for the pte and pte_present and
it was fixed by commit 660a293ea9 ("x86, mm: Make
spurious_fault check explicitly check the PRESENT bit") (if it
wasn't for that commit, it wouldn't even be a regression). That
fix avoids the pagefault to use pte_present. I could follow
through by stopping using pmd_present/pmd_huge too.
However I think it's more robust to fix pageattr and to clear
the PSE/GLOBAL bitflags too in addition to the present bitflag.
So the kernel page fault can keep using the regular
pte_present/pmd_present/pmd_huge.
The confusion arises because _PAGE_GLOBAL and _PAGE_PROTNONE are
sharing the same bit, and in the pmd case we pretend _PAGE_PSE
to be set only in present pmds (to facilitate split_huge_page
final tlb flush).

If we aren't debugging per_cpu maps, the cpu's node is stored in
per_cpu variable numa_node. If `node' is NUMA_NO_NODE, it means
the caller wants to clear the cpu's node. So we should also
call set_cpu_numa_node() in this case.

ftruncate() doesn't - it's declared with size as unsigned long,
but truncate() and lseek() have that argument as signed long.
IOW, these two really need sign extension + branch to native
syscall; argument validation in sys_... does *not* suffice.

The Xtensa architecture provides a global register called THREADPTR
for the purpose of Thread Local Storage (TLS) support. This allows us
to use a fairly simple implementation, keeping the thread pointer in
the regset and simply saving and restoring it upon entering/exiting
the from user space.

Support call graph profiling.
Keep upper two bits of PC unchanged through backtrace rather than take
them from sp (a1). The stack pointer is usually in the same GB (same
upper 2 bits) as PC, but technically doesn't always have to be (and
might not in the future, when taking full advantage of MMU v3).

Simdisk is a block device that maps to a file in the host file system.
It is usable for testing in the simulated environment, like xt-sim or
QEMU. Device binding to host file may be changed at runtime via proc
interface provided the device is not in use. Number of block devices
and initial binding to host files is controlled via kernel/module
parameters, with defaults specified in the kernel configuration.
