f029c781dd net: ethernet: move from strlcpy with unused retval to strscpy
Follow the advice of the below link and prefer 'strscpy' in this
subsystem. Conversion is 1:1 because the return value is not used.

faa4e04e5e r8169: fix accessing unset transport header
66e4c8d95008 ("net: warn if transport header was not set") added
a check that triggers a warning in r8169, see [0].

The commit referenced in the Fixes tag refers to the change from
which the patch applies cleanly, there's nothing wrong with this
commit. It seems the actual issue (not bug, because the warning
is harmless here) was introduced with bdfa4ed68187
("r8169: use Giant Send").

54744510fa r8169: improve driver unload and system shutdown behavior on DASH-enabled systems
There's a number of systems supporting DASH remote management.
Driver unload and system shutdown can result in the PHY suspending,
thus making DASH unusable. Improve this by handling DASH being enabled

d192181c2c r8169: add rtl_disable_exit_l1()
Add rtl_disable_exit_l1() for ensuring that the chip doesn't
inadvertently exit ASPM L1 when being in a low-power mode.
The new function is called from rtl_prepare_power_down() which
has to be moved in the code to avoid a forward declaration.

According to Realtek OCP register 0xc0ac shadows ERI register 0xd4
on RTL8168 versions from RTL8168g. This allows to simplify the
code a little.

c217ab7a39 r8169: enable ASPM L1.2 if system vendor flags it as safe
On some systems there are compatibility issues with ASPM L1.2 and
RTL8125, therefore this state is disabled per default. To allow for
the L1.2 power saving on not affected systems, Realtek provides
vendors that successfully tested ASPM L1.2 the option to flag this
state as safe. According to Realtek this flag will be set first on
certain Chromebox devices.

Pull power management updates from Rafael Wysocki:
"The most signigicant change here is the addition of a new cpufreq
'P-state' driver for AMD processors as a better replacement for the
  venerable acpi-cpufreq driver.

There are also other cpufreq updates (in the core, intel_pstate, ARM
drivers), PM core updates (mostly related to adding new macros for
declaring PM operations which should make the lives of driver
developers somewhat easier), and a bunch of assorted fixes and
  cleanups.

  Summary:

   - Add new P-state driver for AMD processors (Huang Rui).

   - Fix initialization of min and max frequency QoS requests in the

1c5d09d587 ethernet: r8169: use eth_hw_addr_set()
Commit 406f42fa0d3c ("net-next: When a bond have a massive amount
of VLANs...") introduced a rbtree for faster Ethernet address look
up. To maintain netdev->dev_addr in this tree we need to make all
the writes to it got through appropriate helpers.

Read the address into an array on the stack, then call
eth_hw_addr_set().

Commit 406f42fa0d3c ("net-next: When a bond have a massive amount

up. To maintain netdev->dev_addr in this tree we need to make all
the writes to it got through appropriate helpers.

This patch takes care of drivers which cast netdev->dev_addr to

18a9eae240 r8169: enable ASPM L0s state
ASPM is disabled completely because we've seen different types of
problems in the past. However it seems these problems occurred with
L1 or L1 sub-states only. On all the chip versions I've seen the
acceptable L0s exit latency is 512ns. This should be short enough not
to cause problems. If the actual L0s exit latency of the PCIe link
is bigger than 512ns then the PCI core will disable L0s anyway.
So let's give it a try and disable L1 and L1 sub-states only.

This is less verbose.

a76053707d dev_ioctl: split out ndo_eth_ioctl
Most users of ndo_do_ioctl are ethernet drivers that implement
the MII commands SIOCGMIIPHY/SIOCGMIIREG/SIOCSMIIREG, or hardware
timestamping with SIOCSHWTSTAMP/SIOCGHWTSTAMP.

Separate these from the few drivers that use ndo_do_ioctl to
implement SIOCBOND, SIOCBR and SIOCWANDEV commands.

This is a purely cosmetic change intended to help readers find
their way through the implementation.

e9a72f874d r8169: Avoid duplicate sysfs entry creation error
When registering the MDIO bus for a r8169 device, we use the PCI
bus/device specifier as a (seemingly) unique device identifier.
However the very same BDF number can be used on another PCI segment,
which makes the driver fail probing:

[ 27.544136] r8169 0002:07:00.0: enabling device (0000 -> 0003)
[ 27.559734] sysfs: cannot create duplicate filename '/class/mdio_bus/r8169-700'
....
[ 27.684858] libphy: mii_bus r8169-700 failed to register
[ 27.695602] r8169: probe of 0002:07:00.0 failed with error -22

Add the segment number to the device name to make it more unique.

This fixes operation on ARM N1SDP boards, with two boards connected
together to form an SMP system, and all on-board devices showing up
twice, just on different PCI segments. A similar issue would occur on
large systems with many PCI slots and multiple RTL8169 NICs.
