87143f404f arm64: mm: use XN table mapping attributes for the linear region
The way the arm64 kernel virtual address space is constructed guarantees
that swapper PGD entries are never shared between the linear region on
the one hand, and the vmalloc region on the other, which is where all
kernel text, module text and BPF text mappings reside.

This means that mappings in the linear region (which never require
executable permissions) never share any table entries at any level with
mappings that do require executable permissions, and so we can set the
table-level PXN attributes for all table entries that are created while
setting up mappings in the linear region. Since swapper's PGD level page
table is mapped r/o itself, this adds another layer of robustness to the
way the kernel manages its own page tables. While at it, set the UXN
attribute as well for all kernel mappings created at boot.

c1fd78a777 arm64: mm: add missing P4D definitions and use them consistently
Even though level 0, 1 and 2 descriptors share the same attribute
encodings, let's be a bit more consistent about using the right one at
the right level. So add new macros for level 0/P4D definitions, and
clean up some inconsistencies involving these macros.

7ba8f2b2d6 arm64: mm: use a 48-bit ID map when possible on 52-bit VA builds
52-bit VA kernels can run on hardware that is only 48-bit capable, but
configure the ID map as 52-bit by default. This was not a problem until
recently, because the special T0SZ value for a 52-bit VA space was never
programmed into the TCR register anwyay, and because a 52-bit ID map
happens to use the same number of translation levels as a 48-bit one.

This behavior was changed by commit 1401bef703a4 ("arm64: mm: Always update
TCR_EL1 from __cpu_set_tcr_t0sz()"), which causes the unsupported T0SZ
value for a 52-bit VA to be programmed into TCR_EL1. While some hardware
simply ignores this, Mark reports that Amberwing systems choke on this,
resulting in a broken boot. But even before that commit, the unsupported
idmap_t0sz value was exposed to KVM and used to program TCR_EL2 incorrectly
as well.

Given that we already have to deal with address spaces being either 48-bit
or 52-bit in size, the cleanest approach seems to be to simply default to
a 48-bit VA ID map, and only switch to a 52-bit one if the placement of the
kernel in DRAM requires it. This is guaranteed not to happen unless the
system is actually 52-bit VA capable.

d15dfd3138 arm64: mte: Map hotplugged memory as Normal Tagged
In a system supporting MTE, the linear map must allow reading/writing
allocation tags by setting the memory type as Normal Tagged. Currently,
this is only handled for memory present at boot. Hotplugged memory uses
Normal non-Tagged memory.

Introduce pgprot_mhp() for hotplugged memory and use it in
add_memory_resource(). The arm64 code maps pgprot_mhp() to
pgprot_tagged().

Note that ZONE_DEVICE memory should not be mapped as Tagged and
therefore setting the memory type in arch_add_memory() is not feasible.

093bbe211e arm64/mm: Reorganize pfn_valid()
There are multiple instances of pfn_to_section_nr() and __pfn_to_section()
when CONFIG_SPARSEMEM is enabled. This can be optimized if memory section
is fetched earlier. This replaces the open coded PFN and ADDR conversion
with PFN_PHYS() and PHYS_PFN() helpers. While there, also add a comment.
This does not cause any functional change.

eeb0753ba2 arm64/mm: Fix pfn_valid() for ZONE_DEVICE based memory
pfn_valid() validates a pfn but basically it checks for a valid struct page
backing for that pfn. It should always return positive for memory ranges
backed with struct page mapping. But currently pfn_valid() fails for all
ZONE_DEVICE based memory types even though they have struct page mapping.

pfn_valid() asserts that there is a memblock entry for a given pfn without
MEMBLOCK_NOMAP flag being set. The problem with ZONE_DEVICE based memory is
that they do not have memblock entries. Hence memblock_is_map_memory() will
invariably fail via memblock_search() for a ZONE_DEVICE based address. This
eventually fails pfn_valid() which is wrong. memblock_is_map_memory() needs
to be skipped for such memory ranges. As ZONE_DEVICE memory gets hotplugged
into the system via memremap_pages() called from a driver, their respective
memory sections will not have SECTION_IS_EARLY set.

Normal hotplug memory will never have MEMBLOCK_NOMAP set in their memblock
regions. Because the flag MEMBLOCK_NOMAP was specifically designed and set
for firmware reserved memory regions. memblock_is_map_memory() can just be
skipped as its always going to be positive and that will be an optimization
for the normal hotplug memory. Like ZONE_DEVICE based memory, all normal
hotplugged memory too will not have SECTION_IS_EARLY set for their sections

Skipping memblock_is_map_memory() for all non early memory sections would
fix pfn_valid() problem for ZONE_DEVICE based memory and also improve its
performance for normal hotplug memory as well.

bc8fbc5f30 kfence: add test suite
Add KFENCE test suite, testing various error detection scenarios. Makes
use of KUnit for test organization. Since KFENCE's interface to obtain
error reports is via the console, the test verifies that KFENCE outputs
expected reports to the console.

d438fabce7 kfence: use pt_regs to generate stack trace on faults
Instead of removing the fault handling portion of the stack trace based on
the fault handler's name, just use struct pt_regs directly.

Change kfence_handle_page_fault() to take a struct pt_regs, and plumb it
through to kfence_report_error() for out-of-bounds, use-after-free, or
invalid access errors, where pt_regs is used to generate the stack trace.

If the kernel is a DEBUG_KERNEL, also show registers for more information.

840b239863 arm64, kfence: enable KFENCE for ARM64
Add architecture specific implementation details for KFENCE and enable
KFENCE for the arm64 architecture. In particular, this implements the
required interface in <asm/kfence.h>.

KFENCE requires that attributes for pages from its memory pool can
individually be set. Therefore, force the entire linear map to be mapped
at page granularity. Doing so may result in extra memory allocated for
page tables in case rodata=full is not set; however, currently
CONFIG_RODATA_FULL_DEFAULT_ENABLED=y is the default, and the common case
is therefore not affected by this change.

03aaf83fba arm64/mm: define arch_get_mappable_range()
This overrides arch_get_mappable_range() on arm64 platform which will be
used with recently added generic framework.  It drops
inside_linear_region() and subsequent check in arch_add_memory() which are
no longer required.  It also adds a VM_BUG_ON() check that would ensure
that mhp_range_allowed() has already been called.

f05842cfb9 kasan, arm64: allow using KUnit tests with HW_TAGS mode
On a high level, this patch allows running KUnit KASAN tests with the
hardware tag-based KASAN mode.

Internally, this change reenables tag checking at the end of each KASAN
test that triggers a tag fault and leads to tag checking being disabled.

Also simplify is_write calculation in report_tag_fault.

With this patch KASAN tests are still failing for the hardware tag-based
mode; fixes come in the next few patches.

6459b84697 arm64: entry: consolidate Cortex-A76 erratum 1463225 workaround
The workaround for Cortex-A76 erratum 1463225 is split across the
syscall and debug handlers in separate files. This structure currently
forces us to do some redundant work for debug exceptions from EL0, is a
little difficult to follow, and gets in the way of some future rework of
the exception entry code as it requires exceptions to be unmasked late
in the syscall handling path.

To simplify things, and as a preparatory step for future rework of
exception entry, this patch moves all the workaround logic into
entry-common.c. As the debug handler only needs to run for EL1 debug
exceptions, we no longer call it for EL0 debug exceptions, and no longer
need to check user_mode(regs) as this is always false. For clarity
cortex_a76_erratum_1463225_debug_handler() is changed to return bool.

In the SVC path, the workaround is applied earlier, but this should have
no functional impact as exceptions are still masked. In the debug path
we run the fixup before explicitly disabling preemption, but we will not
attempt to preempt before returning from the exception.

There should be no functional change as a result of this patch.

91cb2c8b07 arm64: Do not pass tagged addresses to __is_lm_address()
Commit 519ea6f1c82f ("arm64: Fix kernel address detection of
__is_lm_address()") fixed the incorrect validation of addresses below
PAGE_OFFSET. However, it no longer allowed tagged addresses to be passed
to virt_addr_valid().

Fix this by explicitly resetting the pointer tag prior to invoking
__is_lm_address(). This is consistent with the __lm_to_phys() macro.

7018d467ff arm64: trans_pgd: hibernate: idmap the single page that holds the copy page routines
To resume from hibernate, the contents of memory are restored from
the swap image. This may overwrite any page, including the running
kernel and its page tables.

Hibernate copies the code it uses to do the restore into a single
page that it knows won't be overwritten, and maps it with page tables
built from pages that won't be overwritten.

Today the address it uses for this mapping is arbitrary, but to allow
kexec to reuse this code, it needs to be idmapped. To idmap the page
we must avoid the kernel helpers that have VA_BITS baked in.

Convert create_single_mapping() to take a single PA, and idmap it.
The page tables are built in the reverse order to normal using
pfn_pte() to stir in any bits between 52:48. T0SZ is always increased
to cover 48bits, or 52 if the copy code has bits 52:48 in its PA.

vmemmap_populate() does not validate the requested vmemmap address range to
be inside the platform assigned space i.e [VMEMMAP_START..VMEMMAP_END] for

Just adding an warning here for range overrun which would help detect the
problem earlier on, before a potential struct page corruption. This also

3ed86b9a71 kasan, arm64: fix pointer tags in KASAN reports
As of the "arm64: expose FAR_EL1 tag bits in siginfo" patch, the address
that is passed to report_tag_fault has pointer tags in the format of 0x0X,
while KASAN uses 0xFX format (note the difference in the top 4 bits).

Fix up the pointer tag for kernel pointers in do_tag_check_fault by
setting them to the same value as bit 55. Explicitly use __untagged_addr()
instead of untagged_addr(), as the latter doesn't affect TTBR1 addresses.

ARM64 numa implementation is generic enough that RISC-V can reuse that
implementation with very minor cosmetic changes. This will help both
ARM64 and RISC-V in terms of maintanace and feature improvement

can reuse this. This doesn't introduce any function changes for ARM64.

d78050ee35 arm64: Remove arm64_dma32_phys_limit and its uses
With the introduction of a dynamic ZONE_DMA range based on DT or IORT
information, there's no need for CMA allocations from the wider
ZONE_DMA32 since on most platforms ZONE_DMA will cover the 32-bit
addressable range. Remove the arm64_dma32_phys_limit and set
arm64_dma_phys_limit to cover the smallest DMA range required on the
platform. CMA allocation and crashkernel reservation now go in the
dynamically sized ZONE_DMA, allowing correct functionality on RPi4.

095507dc13 arm64: mm: Fix ARCH_LOW_ADDRESS_LIMIT when !CONFIG_ZONE_DMA
Systems configured with CONFIG_ZONE_DMA32, CONFIG_ZONE_NORMAL and
!CONFIG_ZONE_DMA will fail to properly setup ARCH_LOW_ADDRESS_LIMIT. The
limit will default to ~0ULL, effectively spanning the whole memory,
which is too high for a configuration that expects low memory to be
capped at 4GB.

Fix ARCH_LOW_ADDRESS_LIMIT by falling back to arm64_dma32_phys_limit
when arm64_dma_phys_limit isn't set. arm64_dma32_phys_limit will honour
CONFIG_ZONE_DMA32, or span the entire memory when not enabled.

Add error reporting for hardware tag-based KASAN.  When
CONFIG_KASAN_HW_TAGS is enabled, print KASAN report from the arm64 tag
fault handler.

SAS bits aren't set in ESR for all faults reported in EL1, so it's
impossible to find out the size of the access the caused the fault.  Adapt
KASAN reporting code to handle this case.

bfc62c5985 arm64: kasan: allow enabling in-kernel MTE
Hardware tag-based KASAN relies on Memory Tagging Extension (MTE) feature
and requires it to be enabled.  MTE supports

This patch adds a new mte_enable_kernel() helper, that enables MTE in
Synchronous mode in EL1 and is intended to be called from KASAN runtime
during initialization.

The Tag Checking operation causes a synchronous data abort as a
consequence of a tag check fault when MTE is configured in synchronous
mode.

As part of this change enable match-all tag for EL1 to allow the kernel to
access user pages without faulting.  This is required because the kernel
does not have knowledge of the tags set by the user in a page.

Note: For MTE, the TCF bit field in SCTLR_EL1 affects only EL1 in a
similar way as TCF0 affects EL0.

MTE that is built on top of the Top Byte Ignore (TBI) feature hence we
enable it as part of this patch as well.

Add the implementation of the in-kernel fault handler.

When a tag fault happens on a kernel address:
* MTE is disabled on the current CPU,
* the execution continues.

When a tag fault happens on a user address:
* the kernel executes do_bad_area() and panics.

The tag fault handler for kernel addresses is currently empty and will be
filled in by a future commit.

e5b8d92189 arm64: mte: reset the page tag in page->flags
The hardware tag-based KASAN for compatibility with the other modes stores
the tag associated to a page in page->flags.  Due to this the kernel
faults on access when it allocates a page with an initial tag and the user
changes the tags.

Reset the tag associated by the kernel to a page in all the meaningful
places to prevent kernel faults on access.

Note: An alternative to this approach could be to modify page_to_virt().
This though could end up being racy, in fact if a CPU checks the
PG_mte_tagged bit and decides that the page is not tagged but another CPU
maps the same with PROT_MTE and becomes tagged the subsequent kernel
access would fail.

Software tag-based KASAN mode is fully initialized with kasan_init_tags(),
while the generic mode only requires kasan_init().  Move the
initialization message for tag-based mode into kasan_init_tags().

Also fix pr_fmt() usage for KASAN code: generic.c doesn't need it as it
doesn't use any printing functions; tag-based mode should use "kasan:"
instead of KBUILD_MODNAME (which stands for file name).
