The following KASLR implementation allows to randomize the kernel mapping:

- virtually: we expect the bootloader to provide a seed in the device-tree
- physically: only implemented in the EFI stub, it relies on the firmware to
  provide a seed using EFI_RNG_PROTOCOL. arm64 has a similar implementation
  hence the patch 3 factorizes KASLR related functions for riscv to take
  advantage.

The new virtual kernel location is limited by the early page table that only
has one PUD and with the PMD alignment constraint, the kernel can only take
< 512 positions.

On the Andes AX45MP core, cache coherency is a specification option so it
may not be supported. In this case DMA will fail. To get around with this
issue this patch series does the below:

1] Andes alternative ports is implemented as errata which checks if the
IOCP is missing and only then applies to CMO errata. One vendor specific
SBI EXT (ANDES_SBI_EXT_IOCP_SW_WORKAROUND) is implemented as part of
errata.

Below are the configs which Andes port provides (and are selected by
RZ/Five):
      - ERRATA_ANDES
      - ERRATA_ANDES_CMO

OpenSBI patch supporting ANDES_SBI_EXT_IOCP_SW_WORKAROUND SBI is now
part v1.3 release.

2] Andes AX45MP core has a Programmable Physical Memory Attributes (PMA)
block that allows dynamic adjustment of memory attributes in the runtime.
It contains a configurable amount of PMA entries implemented as CSR
registers to control the attributes of memory locations in interest.
OpenSBI configures the PMA regions as required and creates a reserve memory
node and propagates it to the higher boot stack.

Currently OpenSBI (upstream) configures the required PMA region and passes
this a shared DMA pool to Linux.

The above shared DMA pool gets appended to Linux DTB so the DMA memory

        - ERRATA_ANDES
        - ERRATA_ANDES_CMO

riscv: Introduce virtual kernel mapping KASLR
KASLR implementation relies on a relocatable kernel so that we can move
the kernel mapping.

The seed needed to virtually move the kernel is taken from the device tree,
so we rely on the bootloader to provide a correct seed. Zkr could be used
unconditionnally instead if implemented, but that's for another patch.

riscv: mm: dma-noncoherent: nonstandard cache operations support
Introduce support for nonstandard noncoherent systems in the RISC-V
architecture. It enables function pointer support to handle cache
management in such systems.

This patch adds a new configuration option called
"RISCV_NONSTANDARD_CACHE_OPS." This option is a boolean flag that
depends on "RISCV_DMA_NONCOHERENT" and enables the function pointer
support for cache management in nonstandard noncoherent systems.

riscv: dma-mapping: switch over to generic implementation
Add helper functions for cache wback/inval/clean and use them
arch_sync_dma_for_device()/arch_sync_dma_for_cpu() functions. The proposed
changes are in preparation for switching over to generic implementation.

Reorganization of the code is based on the patch (Link[0]) from Arnd.
For now I have dropped CONFIG_ARCH_HAS_SYNC_DMA_FOR_CPU check as this
will be enabled by default upon selection of RISCV_DMA_NONCOHERENT
and also dropped arch_dma_mark_dcache_clean().

riscv: dma-mapping: skip invalidation before bidirectional DMA
For a DMA_BIDIRECTIONAL transfer, the caches have to be cleaned
first to let the device see data written by the CPU, and invalidated
after the transfer to let the CPU see data written by the device.

riscv also invalidates the caches before the transfer, which does
not appear to serve any purpose.

riscv: dma-mapping: only invalidate after DMA, not flush
No other architecture intentionally writes back dirty cache lines into
a buffer that a device has just finished writing into. If the cache is
clean, this has no effect at all, but if a cacheline in the buffer has
actually been written by the CPU,  there is a driver bug that is likely
made worse by overwriting that buffer.

Currently, riscv defines ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN as L1_CACHE_BYTES, I.E
64Bytes, if CONFIG_RISCV_DMA_NONCOHERENT=y. To support unified kernel
Image, usually we have to enable CONFIG_RISCV_DMA_NONCOHERENT, thus
it brings some bad effects to coherent platforms:

Firstly, it wastes memory, kmalloc-96, kmalloc-32, kmalloc-16 and
kmalloc-8 slab caches don't exist any more, they are replaced with
either kmalloc-128 or kmalloc-64.

Secondly, larger than necessary kmalloc aligned allocations results
in unnecessary cache/TLB pressure.

This issue also exists on arm64 platforms. From last year, Catalin
tried to solve this issue by decoupling ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN from
ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN, limiting kmalloc() minimum alignment to
dma_get_cache_alignment() and replacing ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN usage
in various drivers with ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN etc.[1]

One fact we can make use of for riscv: if the CPU doesn't support
ZICBOM or T-HEAD CMO, we know the platform is coherent. Based on
Catalin's work and above fact, we can easily solve the kmalloc align
issue for riscv: we can override dma_get_cache_alignment(), then let
it return ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN at the beginning and return 1 once we know
the underlying HW neither supports ZICBOM nor supports T-HEAD CMO.

So what about if the CPU supports ZICBOM or T-HEAD CMO, but all the
devices are dma coherent? Well, we use ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN as the
kmalloc minimum alignment, nothing changed in this case. This case
can be improved in the future once we see such platforms in mainline.

After this patch, a simple test of booting to a small buildroot rootfs
on qemu shows:

So we save about 1268KB memory. The saving will be much larger in normal
OS env on real HW platforms.

patch1 allows kmalloc() caches aligned to the smallest value.
patch2 enables DMA_BOUNCE_UNALIGNED_KMALLOC.

After this series:

As for coherent platforms, kmalloc-{8,16,32,96} caches come back on
coherent both RV32 and RV64 platforms, I.E !ZICBOM and !THEAD_CMO.

As for noncoherent RV32 platforms, nothing changed.

As for noncoherent RV64 platforms, I.E either ZICBOM or THEAD_CMO, the
above kmalloc caches also come back if > 4GB memory or users pass
"swiotlb=mmnn,force" to force swiotlb creation if <= 4GB memory. How
much mmnn should be depends on the specific platform, it needs to be
tried and tested all possible usage case on the specific hardware. For
example, I can use the minimal I/O TLB slabs on Sipeed M1S Dock.

4089eef0e6 mm: drop per-VMA lock when returning VM_FAULT_RETRY or VM_FAULT_COMPLETED
handle_mm_fault returning VM_FAULT_RETRY or VM_FAULT_COMPLETED means
mmap_lock has been released.  However with per-VMA locks behavior is
different and the caller should still release it.  To make the rules
consistent for the caller, drop the per-VMA lock when returning
VM_FAULT_RETRY or VM_FAULT_COMPLETED.  Currently the only path returning
VM_FAULT_RETRY under per-VMA locks is do_swap_page and no path returns
VM_FAULT_COMPLETED for now.

riscv: allow kmalloc() caches aligned to the smallest value
Currently, riscv defines ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN as L1_CACHE_BYTES, I.E
64Bytes, if CONFIG_RISCV_DMA_NONCOHERENT=y. To support unified kernel
Image, usually we have to enable CONFIG_RISCV_DMA_NONCOHERENT, thus
it brings some bad effects to coherent platforms:

Firstly, it wastes memory, kmalloc-96, kmalloc-32, kmalloc-16 and
kmalloc-8 slab caches don't exist any more, they are replaced with
either kmalloc-128 or kmalloc-64.

Secondly, larger than necessary kmalloc aligned allocations results
in unnecessary cache/TLB pressure.

This issue also exists on arm64 platforms. From last year, Catalin
tried to solve this issue by decoupling ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN from
ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN, limiting kmalloc() minimum alignment to
dma_get_cache_alignment() and replacing ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN usage
in various drivers with ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN etc.[1]

One fact we can make use of for riscv: if the CPU doesn't support
ZICBOM or T-HEAD CMO, we know the platform is coherent. Based on
Catalin's work and above fact, we can easily solve the kmalloc align
issue for riscv: we can override dma_get_cache_alignment(), then let
it return ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN at the beginning and return 1 once we know
the underlying HW neither supports ZICBOM nor supports T-HEAD CMO.

So what about if the CPU supports ZICBOM or T-HEAD CMO, but all the
devices are dma coherent? Well, we use ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN as the
kmalloc minimum alignment, nothing changed in this case. This case
can be improved in the future.

After this patch, a simple test of booting to a small buildroot rootfs
on qemu shows:

standardize page tables further.

49b0638502 mm: enable page walking API to lock vmas during the walk
walk_page_range() and friends often operate under write-locked mmap_lock. 
With introduction of vma locks, the vmas have to be locked as well during
such walks to prevent concurrent page faults in these areas.  Add an
additional member to mm_walk_ops to indicate locking requirements for the
walk.

The change ensures that page walks which prevent concurrent page faults
by write-locking mmap_lock, operate correctly after introduction of
per-vma locks.  With per-vma locks page faults can be handled under vma
lock without taking mmap_lock at all, so write locking mmap_lock would
not stop them.  The change ensures vmas are properly locked during such
walks.

A sample issue this solves is do_mbind() performing queue_pages_range()
to queue pages for migration.  Without this change a concurrent page
can be faulted into the area and be left out of migration.

riscv: kdump: Implement crashkernel=X,[high,low]
On riscv, the current crash kernel allocation logic is trying to
allocate within 32bit addressible memory region by default, if
failed, try to allocate without 4G restriction.

In need of saving DMA zone memory while allocating a relatively large
crash kernel region, allocating the reserved memory top down in
high memory, without overlapping the DMA zone, is a mature solution.
Here introduce the parameter option crashkernel=X,[high,low].

One can reserve the crash kernel from high memory above DMA zone range
by explicitly passing "crashkernel=X,high"; or reserve a memory range
below 4G with "crashkernel=X,low".

riscv: Start of DRAM should at least be aligned on PMD size for the direct mapping
So that we do not end up mapping the whole linear mapping using 4K
pages, which is slow at boot time, and also very likely at runtime.

So make sure we align the start of DRAM on a PMD boundary.

lkp reports below sparse warning when building for RV32:
arch/riscv/mm/init.c:1204:48: sparse: warning: cast truncates bits from
constant value (100000000 becomes 0)

IMO, the reason we didn't see this truncates bug in real world is "0"
means MEMBLOCK_ALLOC_ACCESSIBLE in memblock and there's no RV32 HW
with more than 4GB memory.

Fix it anyway to make sparse happy.

mm: riscv: fix an unsafe pte read in huge_pte_alloc()
The WARN_ON_ONCE() statement in riscv's huge_pte_alloc() is susceptible
to false positives, because the pte is read twice at the C language
level, locklessly, within the same conditional statement. Depending on
compiler behavior, this can lead to generated machine code that actually
reads the pte just once, or twice. Reading twice will expose the code to
changing pte values and cause incorrect behavior.

In [1], similar code actually caused a kernel crash on 64-bit x86, when
using clang to build the kernel, but only after the conversion from *pte
reads, to ptep_get(pte). The latter uses READ_ONCE(), which forced a
double read of *pte.

Rather than waiting for the upcoming ptep_get() conversion, just convert
this part of the code now, but in a way that avoids the above problem:
take a single snapshot of the pte before using it in the WARN
conditional.

As expected, this preparatory step does not actually change the
generated code ("make mm/hugetlbpage.s"), on riscv64, when using a gcc
12.2 cross compiler.

riscv: move memblock_allow_resize() after linear mapping is ready
The initial memblock metadata is accessed from kernel image mapping. The
regions arrays need to "reallocated" from memblock and accessed through
linear mapping to cover more memblock regions. So the resizing should
not be allowed until linear mapping is ready. Note that there are
memblock allocations when building linear mapping.

This patch is similar to 24cc61d8cb ("arm64: memblock: don't permit
memblock resizing until linear mapping is up").

In following log, many memblock regions are reserved before
create_linear_mapping_page_table(). And then it triggered reallocation
of memblock.reserved.regions and memcpy the old array in kernel image
mapping to the new array in linear mapping which caused a page fault.

This modifies our user mode stack expansion code to always take the
mmap_lock for writing before modifying the VM layout.

It's actually something we always technically should have done, but
because we didn't strictly need it, we were being lazy ("opportunistic"
sounds so much better, doesn't it?) about things, and had this hack in
place where we would extend the stack vma in-place without doing the
proper locking.

And it worked fine.  We just needed to change vm_start (or, in the case
of grow-up stacks, vm_end) and together with some special ad-hoc locking
using the anon_vma lock and the mm->page_table_lock, it all was fairly
straightforward.

That is, it was all fine until Ruihan Li pointed out that now that the
vma layout uses the maple tree code, we *really* don't just change
vm_start and vm_end any more, and the locking really is broken.  Oops.

It's not actually all _that_ horrible to fix this once and for all, and
do proper locking, but it's a bit painful.  We have basically three
different cases of stack expansion, and they all work just a bit
differently:

 - the common and obvious case is the page fault handling. It's actually
   fairly simple and straightforward, except for the fact that we have
   something like 24 different versions of it, and you end up in a maze
   of twisty little passages, all alike.

 - the simplest case is the execve() code that creates a new stack.
   There are no real locking concerns because it's all in a private new
   VM that hasn't been exposed to anybody, but lockdep still can end up
   unhappy if you get it wrong.

 - and finally, we have GUP and page pinning, which shouldn't really be
   expanding the stack in the first place, but in addition to execve()
   we also use it for ptrace(). And debuggers do want to possibly access
   memory under the stack pointer and thus need to be able to expand the
   stack as a special case.

None of these cases are exactly complicated, but the page fault case in
particular is just repeated slightly differently many many times.  And
ia64 in particular has a fairly complicated situation where you can have
both a regular grow-down stack _and_ a special grow-up stack for the
register backing store.

So to make this slightly more manageable, the bulk of this series is to
first create a helper function for the most common page fault case, and
convert all the straightforward architectures to it.

Thus the new 'lock_mm_and_find_vma()' helper function, which ends up
being used by x86, arm, powerpc, mips, riscv, alpha, arc, csky, hexagon,
loongarch, nios2, sh, sparc32, and xtensa.  So we not only convert more
than half the architectures, we now have more shared code and avoid some
of those twisty little passages.

And largely due to this common helper function, the full diffstat of
this series ends up deleting more lines than it adds.

That still leaves eight architectures (ia64, m68k, microblaze, openrisc,
parisc, s390, sparc64 and um) that end up doing 'expand_stack()'
manually because they are doing something slightly different from the
normal pattern.  Along with the couple of special cases in execve() and
GUP.

So there's a couple of patches that first create 'locked' helper
versions of the stack expansion functions, so that there's a obvious
path forward in the conversion.  The execve() case is then actually
pretty simple, and is a nice cleanup from our old "grow-up stackls are
special, because at execve time even they grow down".

The #ifdef CONFIG_STACK_GROWSUP in that code just goes away, because
it's just more straightforward to write out the stack expansion there
manually, instead od having get_user_pages_remote() do it for us in some
situations but not others and have to worry about locking rules for GUP.

And the final step is then to just convert the remaining odd cases to a
new world order where 'expand_stack()' is called with the mmap_lock held
for reading, but where it might drop it and upgrade it to a write, only
to return with it held for reading (in the success case) or with it
completely dropped (in the failure case).

In the process, we remove all the stack expansion from GUP (where
dropping the lock wouldn't be ok without special rules anyway), and add
it in manually to __access_remote_vm() for ptrace().

Thanks to Adrian Glaubitz and Frank Scheiner who tested the ia64 cases.
Everything else here felt pretty straightforward, but the ia64 rules for
stack expansion are really quite odd and very different from everything
else.  Also thanks to Vegard Nossum who caught me getting one of those
odd conditions entirely the wrong way around.

Anyway, I think I want to actually move all the stack expansion code to
a whole new file of its own, rather than have it split up between
mm/mmap.c and mm/memory.c, but since this will have to be backported to
the initial maple tree vma introduction anyway, I tried to keep the
patches _fairly_ minimal.

Also, while I don't think it's valid to expand the stack from GUP, the
final patch in here is a "warn if some crazy GUP user wants to try to
expand the stack" patch.  That one will be reverted before the final
release, but it's left to catch any odd cases during the merge window
and release candidates.

riscv: mm: try VMA lock-based page fault handling first
Attempt VMA lock-based page fault handling first, and fall back to the
existing mmap_lock-based handling if that fails.

A simple running the ebizzy benchmark on Lichee Pi 4A shows that
PER_VMA_LOCK can improve the ebizzy benchmark by about 32.68%. In
theory, the more CPUs, the bigger improvement, but I don't have any
HW platform which has more than 4 CPUs.

This is the riscv variant of "x86/mm: try VMA lock-based page fault
handling first".

riscv: mm: Pre-allocate PGD entries for vmalloc/modules area
The RISC-V port requires that kernel PGD entries are to be
synchronized between MMs. This is done via the vmalloc_fault()
function, that simply copies the PGD entries from init_mm to the
faulting one.

Historically, faulting in PGD entries have been a source for both bugs
[1], and poor performance.

One way to get rid of vmalloc faults is by pre-allocating the PGD
entries. Pre-allocating the entries potientially wastes 64 * 4K (65 on
SV39). The pre-allocation function is pulled from Jörg Rödel's x86
work, with the addition of 3-level page tables (PMD allocations).

The pmd_alloc() function needs the ptlock cache to be initialized
(when split page locks is enabled), so the pre-allocation is done in a
RISC-V specific pgtable_cache_init() implementation.

Pre-allocate the kernel PGD entries for the vmalloc/modules area, but
only for 64b platforms.

riscv: Fix kfence now that the linear mapping can be backed by PUD/P4D/PGD
RISC-V Kfence implementation used to rely on the fact the linear mapping
was backed by at most PMD hugepages, which is not true anymore since
commit 3335068f87 ("riscv: Use PUD/P4D/PGD pages for the linear
mapping").

Instead of splitting PUD/P4D/PGD mappings afterwards, directly map the
kfence pool region using PTE mappings by allocating this region before
setup_vm_final().

riscv: mm: Ensure prot of VM_WRITE and VM_EXEC must be readable
Commit 8aeb7b17f0 ("RISC-V: Make mmap() with PROT_WRITE imply PROT_READ")
allows riscv to use mmap with PROT_WRITE only, and meanwhile mmap with w+x
is also permitted. However, when userspace tries to access this page with
PROT_WRITE|PROT_EXEC, which causes infinite loop at load page fault as
well as it triggers soft lockup. According to riscv privileged spec,
"Writable pages must also be marked readable". The fix to drop the
`PAGE_COPY_READ_EXEC` and then `PAGE_COPY_EXEC` would be just used instead.
This aligns the other arches (i.e arm64) for protection_map.

Functions that work on a pointer to virtual memory such as
virt_to_pfn() and users of that function such as
virt_to_page() are supposed to pass a pointer to virtual
memory, ideally a (void *) or other pointer. However since
many architectures implement virt_to_pfn() as a macro,
this function becomes polymorphic and accepts both a
(unsigned long) and a (void *).

Fix this in the RISCV mm init code, so we can implement
a strongly typed virt_to_pfn().

riscv: Fix unused variable warning when BUILTIN_DTB is set
commit ef69d2559f ("riscv: Move early dtb mapping into the fixmap
region") wrongly moved the #ifndef CONFIG_BUILTIN_DTB surrounding the pa
variable definition in create_fdt_early_page_table(), so move it back to
its right place to quiet the following warning:

riscv: mm: remove redundant parameter of create_fdt_early_page_table
create_fdt_early_page_table() explicitly uses early_pg_dir for
32-bit fdt mapping and the pgdir parameter is redundant here.
So remove it and its caller.

This series adds RISC-V Hibernation/suspend to disk support.
Low level Arch functions were created to support hibernation.
swsusp_arch_suspend() relies code from __cpu_suspend_enter() to write
cpu state onto the stack, then calling swsusp_save() to save the memory
image.

Arch specific hibernation header is implemented and is utilized by the
arch_hibernation_header_restore() and arch_hibernation_header_save()
functions. The arch specific hibernation header consists of satp, hartid,
and the cpu_resume address. The kernel built version is also need to be
saved into the hibernation image header to making sure only the same
kernel is restore when resume.

swsusp_arch_resume() creates a temporary page table that covering only
the linear map. It copies the restore code to a 'safe' page, then start to
restore the memory image. Once completed, it restores the original
kernel's page table. It then calls into __hibernate_cpu_resume()
to restore the CPU context. Finally, it follows the normal hibernation
path back to the hibernation core.

To enable hibernation/suspend to disk into RISCV, the below config
need to be enabled:
- CONFIG_HIBERNATION
- CONFIG_ARCH_HIBERNATION_HEADER
- CONFIG_ARCH_HIBERNATION_POSSIBLE

At high-level, this series includes the following changes:
1) Change suspend_save_csrs() and suspend_restore_csrs()
   to public function as these functions are common to
   suspend/hibernation. (patch 1)
2) Refactor the common code in the __cpu_resume_enter() function and
   __hibernate_cpu_resume() function. The common code are used by
   hibernation and suspend. (patch 2)
3) Enhance kernel_page_present() function to support huge page. (patch 3)
4) Add arch/riscv low level functions to support
   hibernation/suspend to disk. (patch 4)
