297875b6a1 [media] videobuf2: Do not unconditionally map S/G buffers into kernel space
The one in-tree videobuf2-dma-sg driver (mmp-camera) has no need for a
kernel-space mapping of the buffers; one suspects that most other drivers
would not either. The videobuf2-dma-sg module does the right thing if
buf->vaddr == NULL - it maps the buffer on demand if somebody needs it. So
let's not map the buffer at allocation time; that will save a little CPU
time and a lot of address space in the vmalloc range.

Instead of taking Thierry's patch that creates a separate function

4d37ece757 [media] tuner/xc2028: Add I2C flush callback
When loading the firmware, complete each chunk by sending an I2C flush
command to the frontend. Some devices like the tm6000 seem to require

The current code in tm6000 executes the flush command once after each
I2C transfer, which slows down the firmware loading especially when
loading large BASE type images.

This patch reduces the number of available choices for the notch filter type control
so that the standard-specific filter types cannot be selected. It is now limited to

ea3709435c [media] siano: apply debug flag to module level
Siano modules already had sms_dbg flag which is a module parameter which
sets the debug mode so module prints messages to dmesg for debugging.
The variable was static therefore apply only to the file which defines

flag applied only for functions in that main file.
flag was changed to be non-static and therefore can be accessed by all

e217fb43c4 [media] mceusb: report actual tx frequencies
Rather than dumping out hex values, lets print the actual calculated
frequency and period the hardware has been configured for. After this

[ 2643.276215] mceusb 3-1:1.0: tx data: 9f 07 (length=2)
[ 2643.276218] mceusb 3-1:1.0: Get carrier mode and freq
[ 2643.277206] mceusb 3-1:1.0: rx data: 9f 06 01 42 (length=4)
[ 2643.277209] mceusb 3-1:1.0: Got carrier of 37037 Hz (period 27us)

Matches up perfectly with the table in Microsoft's docs.

Of course, I've noticed on one of my devices that the MS-recommended
default value of 1 for carrier pre-scaler and 66 for carrier period was
butchered, and instead of converting 66 to hex (0x42 like above), they
put in 0x66, so the hardware reports a default carrier of 24390Hz.
Fortunately, I guess, this particular device is rx-only, but I wouldn't
put it past other hw to screw up here too.

a411e83944 [media] mceusb: get misc port data from hardware
According to the specs, you can read the number of tx ports, number of
rx sensors, which tx ports have cables plugged into them, and which rx
sensors are active. In practice, most of my devices do seem to report
sane values for tx ports and rx sensors (but not all -- one without any
tx ports reports having them), and most report the active sensor
correctly, but only one of eight reports cabled tx ports correctly. So
for the most part, this is just for informational purposes.

ab1072eba9 [media] mceusb: query device for firmware emulator version
Supposedly, there are essentially three different classes of devices
that are compatible with Microsoft's specs. First are the "legacy"
devices, which are built using Microsoft-provided hardware specs and
firmware. Second are "emulator" devices, which are built using custom
hardware and firmware, written to emulate Microsoft's firmware. Third
are "port" devices, which have their own device driver and firmware,
which provides compatible data to higher levels of the stack.

>From what I can tell, things like nuvoton-cir and fintek-cir are
essentially "port" devices -- their raw IR buffer format is very similar
to that of the mceusb devices. Now, within the mceusb driver, we have
three different "generations", which at first, seemed like maybe they
mapped to emulator versions. Unfortuantely, every single device I have
responds "illegal command" to the query to get firmware emulator version
from the hardware, which means they're either all emulator version 1, or
they're legacy devices, and our different "generations" aren't at all
related here. Though in theory, its possible the gen1 devices are
"legacy" devices and the rest are emulator v1. There are some useful
features of the v2 interface I was hoping to play with, but alas...

rc unregister logic were deadly broken, preventing some drivers to
be removed. Among the broken things, rc_dev_uevent() is being called
during device_del(), causing a data filling on an area that it is

Also, some drivers have a stop callback defined, that needs to be called
before data removal, as it stops data polling.

f7acc4bb86 [media] em28xx: Fix DVB-C maxsize for em2884
The logic at em28xx_isoc_dvb_max_packetsize() sucks, at least for newer
the needed packet size. Yet, it is better than nothing.

Rewrite the code in order to change the default to 752 for em2884 and
newer chips and provide a better way to handle per-chipset specifics.

For em2874, the current default should be enough, as the only em2874
board is currently a 1-seg ISDB-T board, so, it needs only a limited
amount of bandwidth.

cf845297d5 [media] tda18271c2dd: Fix saw filter configuration for DVB-C @6MHz
Currently, the driver assumes that all QAM carriers are spaced with
8MHz. This is wrong, and may decrease QoS on Countries like Brazil,
that have DVB-C carriers with 6MHz-spaced.

Fortunately, both ITU-T J-83 and EN 300 429 specifies a way to
associate the symbol rate with the bandwidth needed for it.

For ITU-T J-83 2007 annex A, the maximum symbol rate for 6 MHz is:
	6 MHz / 1.15 = 5217391 Bauds
For ITU-T J-83 2007 annex C, the maximum symbol rate for 6 MHz is:
	6 MHz / 1.13 = 5309735 Bauds.

As this tuner is currently used only for DRX-K, and it is currently
hard-coded to annex A, I've opted to use the roll-off factor of 0.15,
instead of 0.13.

If we ever support annex C, the better would be to add a DVB S2API
call to allow changing between Annex A and C, and add the 0.13 roll-off
factor to it.

This code is currently being used on other frontends, so I think we
should later add a core function with this code, to warrant that
it will be properly implemented everywhere.

e831599cb8 [media] V4L2: omap_vout: Remove GFP_DMA allocation as ZONE_DMA is not configured on OMAP
Remove GFP_DMA from the __get_free_pages() call from omap_vout as ZONE_DMA
is not configured on OMAP. Earlier the page allocator used to return a page
from ZONE_NORMAL even when GFP_DMA is passed and CONFIG_ZONE_DMA is disabled.
As a result of commit a197b59ae6, page allocator
returns null in such a scenario with a warning emitted to kernel log.

more than enough to get standard NTSC 640x480x2x30 = ~17.6 MB/s isoc
bandwidth.

UVC_QUIRK_FIX_BANDWIDTH helps here and NTSC video can be served with
MxPS=2688 i.e. 20.5 MB/s isoc bandwidth.

In terms of microframe time allocation, before the quirk NTSC video
required 60 usecs / microframe and 53 usecs / microframe after.

d749fb663e [media] au8522: set signal field to 100% when signal present
The signal state field in G_TUNER is typically scaled from 0-100%. Since we
don't know the signal level, we really would prefer the field to contain 100%
than 1/256, which in many utilities (such as v4l2-ctl) rounds to 0% even when
a signal is actually present.

This patch makes the behavior consistent with other drivers.

Make use of the signal state registers to properly populate the signal lock
registers in the cx231xx driver.

This allows applications to know whether there is a signal present even in

no tuner is present).

44ecf1df94 [media] cx231xx: Fix power ramping issue
On platforms that have CONFIG_HZ set to 100, the power ramp time effectively
ends up being 10ms. However, on those that have a higher CONFIG_HZ, the time
ends up *actually* being 5ms, which doesn't allow enough time for the hardware
to be fully powered up before attempting to address it via i2c.

Change the constant to 10ms, which is long enough for the hardware to power
up, and won't really be anymore time than it was previously on platforms
with CONFIG_HZ being 100.

Credit goes to Mauro Carvalho Chehab and Gerd Hoffmann who previously
investigated this issue.

Tested with the Hauppauge USBLive 2, with which the problem was readily
reproducible after setting CONFIG_HZ to 1000.

c0c5e71e46 [media] uvcvideo: Fix control mapping for devices with multiple chains
The search for matching extension units fails to take account of the
current chain. In the case where you have two distinct video chains,
both containing an XU with the same GUID but different unit ids, you
will be unable to perform a mapping on the second chain because entity
on the first chain will always be found first

Fix this by only searching the current chain when performing a control
mapping. This is analogous to the search used by uvc_find_control(),
and is the correct behaviour.

320ed23ebf [media] drxk: Fix a bug at some switches that broke DVB-T
The error propagation changeset c23bf4402 broke the DVB-T
code.

The legacy way for propagate errors was:

do {
	status = foo_func()
	if (status < 0)
		break;
} while (0);
return status;

However, on a few places, it was doing:
do {
	switch(foo) {
	case bar:
		status = foo_func()
		if (status < 0)
			break;
		break;
	}
	switch(foo2) {
	case bar:
		status = foo_func()
		if (status < 0)
			break;
		break;
	}
	...
} while (0);
return (status)

The inner error break were not working, as it were breaking only
the switch, instead of the do. The solution used were to do a
s/break/goto error/ at the inner breaks, but preserving the last
break. Onfortunately, on a few switches, the replacement were
applied also to the final break for the case statements.

Fix the broken logic, by reverting them to break, where pertinent,
in order to fix DVB-T support.

As pointed by Andread Oberritter <obi@linuxtv.org>:

	That's wrong, because the array size is DTV_MAX_COMMAND + 1.
