77836dbe35 igc: Reinstate IGC_REMOVED logic and implement it properly

The initially merged version of the igc driver code (via commit
146740f9abc4, "igc: Add support for PF") contained the following
IGC_REMOVED checks in the igc_rd32/wr32() MMIO accessors:

E.g. igb has similar checks in its MMIO accessors, and has a similar
macro E1000_REMOVED, which is implemented as follows:

	#define E1000_REMOVED(h) unlikely(!(h))

These checks serve to detect and take note of an 0xffffffff MMIO read
return from the device, which can be caused by a PCIe link flap or some
other kind of PCI bus error, and to avoid performing MMIO reads and
writes from that point onwards.

However, the IGC_REMOVED macro was not originally implemented:

This led to the IGC_REMOVED logic to be removed entirely in a
subsequent commit (commit 3c215fb18e70, "igc: remove IGC_REMOVED
function"), with the rationale that such checks matter only for
virtualization and that igc does not support virtualization -- but a
PCIe device can become detached even without virtualization being in
use, and without proper checks, a PCIe bus error affecting an igc
adapter will lead to various NULL pointer dereferences, as the first
access after the error will set hw->hw_addr to NULL, and subsequent
accesses will blindly dereference this now-NULL pointer.

This patch reinstates the IGC_REMOVED checks in igc_rd32/wr32(), and
implements IGC_REMOVED the way it is done for igb, by checking for the
unlikely() case of hw_addr being NULL.  This change prevents the oopses
seen when a PCIe link flap occurs on an igc adapter.

ff4443f3fc igc: Enable PCIe PTM
commit 1b5d73fb862414106cf270a1a7300ce8ae77de83 upstream.

Enables PCIe PTM (Precision Time Measurement) support in the igc
driver. Notifies the PCI devices that PCIe PTM should be enabled.

PCIe PTM is similar protocol to PTP (Precision Time Protocol) running
in the PCIe fabric, it allows devices to report time measurements from
their internal clocks and the correlation with the PCIe root clock.

The i225 NIC exposes some registers that expose those time
measurements, those registers will be used, in later patches, to
implement the PTP_SYS_OFFSET_PRECISE ioctl().

d0229838b6 igc: Remove phy->type checking
commit 47bca7de6a4fb8dcb564c7ca14d885c91ed19e03 upstream.

i225 devices have only one phy->type: copper. There is no point checking
phy->type during the igc_has_link method from the watchdog that
invoked every 2 seconds.
This patch comes to clean up these pointless checkings.

46b0e4f998 igc: Fix infinite loop in release_swfw_sync

An infinite loop may occur if we fail to acquire the HW semaphore,
which is needed for resource release.
This will typically happen if the hardware is surprise-removed.
At this stage there is nothing to do, except log an error and quit.

9d8a11d74d igc: igc_write_phy_reg_gpy: drop premature return
commit c4208653a327a09da1e9e7b10299709b6d9b17bf upstream.

Similar to "igc_read_phy_reg_gpy: drop premature return" patch.
igc_write_phy_reg_gpy checks the return value from igc_write_phy_reg_mdic
and if it's not 0, returns immediately. By doing this, it leaves the HW
semaphore in the acquired state.

Drop this premature return statement, the function returns after
releasing the semaphore immediately anyway.

463b3edfba igc: Check if num of q_vectors is smaller than max before array access

Ensure that the adapter->q_vector[MAX_Q_VECTORS] array isn't accessed
beyond its size. It was fixed by using a local variable num_q_vectors
as a limit for loop index, and ensure that num_q_vectors is not bigger
than MAX_Q_VECTORS.

Cleans the next descriptor to watch (next_to_watch) when cleaning the
TX ring.

Failure to do so can cause invalid memory accesses. If igc_poll() runs
while the controller is being reset this can lead to the driver try to
free a skb that was already freed.

5994a09657 igc: Fix igc_ptp_rx_pktstamp()

The comment describing the timestamps layout in the packet buffer is
wrong and the code is actually retrieving the timestamp in Timer 1
reference instead of Timer 0. This hasn't been a big issue so far
because hardware is configured to report both timestamps using Timer 0
(see IGC_SRRCTL register configuration in igc_ptp_enable_rx_timestamp()
helper). This patch fixes the comment and the code so we retrieve the
timestamp in Timer 0 reference as expected.

This patch also takes the opportunity to get rid of the hw.mac.type check
since it is not required.

The more generic approach will be wrap get_link_ksettings() with begin()
and complete() callbacks, and calls runtime resume and runtime suspend
routine respectively. However, igc is like igb, runtime resume routine
uses rtnl_lock() which upper ethtool layer also uses.

So to prevent a deadlock on rtnl, take a different approach, use
pm_runtime_suspended() to avoid reading register while device is runtime
suspended.

Link speed advertising in igc has two problems:

- When setting the advertisement via ethtool, the link speed is converted
  to the legacy 32 bit representation for the intel PHY code.
  This inadvertently drops ETHTOOL_LINK_MODE_2500baseT_Full_BIT (being
  beyond bit 31).  As a result, any call to `ethtool -s ...' drops the
  2500Mbit/s link speed from the PHY settings.  Only reloading the driver
  alleviates that problem.

  Fix this by converting the ETHTOOL_LINK_MODE_2500baseT_Full_BIT to the
  Intel PHY ADVERTISE_2500_FULL bit explicitly.

- Rather than checking the actual PHY setting, the .get_link_ksettings
  function always fills link_modes.advertising with all link speeds
  the device is capable of.

  Fix this by checking the PHY autoneg_advertised settings and report
  only the actually advertised speeds up to ethtool.

0171f4e8d3 net: intel: Remove in_interrupt() warnings
in_interrupt() is ill defined and does not provide what the name
suggests. The usage especially in driver code is deprecated and a tree wide
effort to clean up and consolidate the (ab)usage of in_interrupt() and
related checks is happening.

In this case the checks cover only parts of the contexts in which these
functions cannot be called. They fail to detect preemption or interrupt
disabled invocations.

As the functions which are invoked from the various places contain already
a broad variety of checks (always enabled or debug option dependent) cover
all invalid conditions already, there is no point in having inconsistent
warnings in those drivers.

Just remove them.

58c4ee0ea3 igc: Reject schedules with a base_time in the future
When we set the BASET registers of i225 with a base_time in the
future, i225 will "hold" all packets until that base_time is reached,
causing a lot of TX Hangs.

As this behaviour seems contrary to the expectations of the IEEE
802.1Q standard (section 8.6.9, especially 8.6.9.4.5), let's start by
rejecting these types of schedules. If this is too limiting, we can
for example, setup a timer to configure the BASET registers closer to
the start time, only blocking the packets for a "short" while.

b03c49cde6 igc: Save PTP time before a reset
Many TSN features depend on the internal PTP clock, so the internal
PTP jumping when the adapter is reset can cause problems, usually in
the form of "TX Hangs" warnings in the driver.

The solution is to save the PTP time before a reset and restore it
after the reset is done. The value of the PTP time is saved before a
reset and we use the difference from CLOCK_MONOTONIC from reset time
to now, to correct what's going to be the new PTP time.

This is heavily inspired by commit bf4bf09bdd91 ("i40e: save PTP time
before a device reset").

LPI counters exposed by statistics update method.
A EEE TX LPI counter reflect the transmitter entries EEE (IEEE 802.3az)
into the LPI state. A EEE RX LPI counter reflect the receiver link
partner entries into EEE(IEEE 802.3az) LPI state.

ef8a17a2a4 igc: Clean RX descriptor error flags
i225 advanced receive descriptor doesn't have the following extend error
bits: CE, SE, SEQ, CXE. In addition to that, the bit TCPE is called L4E
in the datasheet.

Clean up the code accordingly, and get rid of the macro
IGC_RXDEXT_ERR_FRAME_ERR_MASK since it doesn't make much sense anymore.

09cb2a3404 igc: Remove timeout check from ptp_tx work
The Tx timestamp timeout is already checked by the watchdog_task
which runs periodically. In addition to that, from the ptp_tx work
perspective, if __IGC_PTP_TX_IN_PROGRESS flag is set we always want
handle the timestamp stored in hardware and update the skb. So remove
the timeout check in igc_ptp_tx_work() function.

530a763db8 igc: Don't reschedule ptp_tx work
The ptp_tx work is scheduled only if TSICR.TXTS bit is set, therefore
TSYNCTXCTL.TXTT_0 bit is expected to be set when we check it igc_ptp_tx_
work(). If it isn't, something is really off and rescheduling the ptp_tx
work to check it later doesn't help much. This patch changes the code to
WARN_ON_ONCE() if this situation ever happens.

b50f7bca5e intel-ethernet: clean up W=1 warnings in kdoc
This takes care of all of the trivial W=1 fixes in the Intel
Ethernet drivers, which allows developers and maintainers to
build more of the networking tree with more complete warning
checks.

There are three classes of kdoc warnings fixed:
 - cannot understand function prototype: 'x'
 - Excess function parameter 'x' description in 'y'
 - Function parameter or member 'x' not described in 'y'

All of the changes were trivial comment updates on
function headers.

Inspired by Lee Jones' series of wireless work to do the same.
Compile tested only, and passes simple test of
$ git ls-files *.[ch] | egrep drivers/net/ethernet/intel | \
  xargs scripts/kernel-doc -none

4406e977a4 igc: Fix not considering the TX delay for timestamps
When timestamping a packet there's a delay between the start of the
packet and the point where the hardware actually captures the
timestamp. This difference needs to be considered if we want accurate
timestamps.

This was done on the RX side, but not on the TX side.

f03369b9bf igc: Fix wrong timestamp latency numbers
The previous timestamping latency numbers were obtained by
interpolating the i210 numbers with the i225 crystal clock value. That
calculation was wrong.

Use the correct values from real measurements.

Right now, igc_ptp_reset() is called from igc_reset(), which is called
from igc_probe() before igc_ptp_init() has a chance to run. It is
detected as an attempt to use an spinlock without registering its key
