Using min_t(int, ...) as a potential array index implies to the compiler
that negative offsets should be allowed. This is not the case, though.
Replace "int" with "unsigned int". Fixes the following warning exposed

The internal recvmsg() functions have two parameters 'flags' and 'noblock'
that were merged inside skb_recv_datagram(). As a follow up patch to commit
f4b41f062c42 ("net: remove noblock parameter from skb_recv_datagram()")
this patch removes the separate 'noblock' parameter for recvmsg().
Analogue to the referenced patch for skb_recv_datagram() the 'flags' and
'noblock' parameters are unnecessarily split up with e.g.
err = sk->sk_prot->recvmsg(sk, msg, size, flags & MSG_DONTWAIT,
flags & ~MSG_DONTWAIT, &addr_len);
or in
err = INDIRECT_CALL_2(sk->sk_prot->recvmsg, tcp_recvmsg, udp_recvmsg,

instead of simply using only flags all the time and check for MSG_DONTWAIT

During the process of driver probing, probe function should return < 0
for failure, otherwise kernel will treat value >= 0 as success.
Therefore, the driver should set 'err' to -ENODEV when
'adapter->registered_device_map' is NULL. Otherwise kernel will assume
that the driver has been successfully probed and will cause unexpected
errors.

As more police parameters are passed to flow_offload, driver can check
them to make sure hardware handles packets in the way indicated by tc.
The conform-exceed control should be drop/pipe or drop/ok. Besides,
for drop/ok, the police should be the last action. As hardware can't
configure peakrate/avrate/overhead, offload should not be supported if
any of them is configured.

Mask the ECN bits before calling ip_route_output_ports(). The tos
variable might be passed directly from an IPv4 header, so it may have
the last ECN bit set. This interferes with the route lookup process as
ip_route_output_key_hash() interpretes this bit specially (to restrict
the route scope).
Found by code inspection, compile tested only.

Use dma_set_mask_and_coherent() instead of unrolling it with some
dma_set_mask()+dma_set_coherent_mask().
Moreover, as stated in [1], dma_set_mask() with a 64-bit mask will never
fail if dev->dma_mask is non-NULL.
So, if it fails, the 32 bits case will also fail for the same reason.
That said, 'pci_using_dac' can only be 1 after a successful
dma_set_mask_and_coherent().
Simplify code and remove some dead code accordingly.

In preparation for FORTIFY_SOURCE performing compile-time and run-time
field bounds checking for memset(), avoid intentionally writing across
neighboring fields.
Use memset_startat() so memset() doesn't get confused about writing beyond
the destination member that is intended to be the starting point of
zeroing through the end of the struct. Additionally, since everything
appears to perform a roundup (including allocation), just change the size
of the struct itself and add a build-time check to validate the expected
size.

Even if firmware fails to recognize the plugged-in port module type,
allow reading port module EEPROM anyway. This helps in obtaining
necessary diagnostics information for debugging and analysis.

Use standard VPD API to replace t3_seeprom_write(), this prepares for
removing this function. Chelsio T3 maps the EEPROM write protect flag
to an arbitrary place in VPD address space, therefore we have to use
pci_write_vpd_any().

of t3_seeprom_read(). Note that we don't have to use pci_read_vpd_any()
here because a VPD quirk sets dev->vpd.len to the full EEPROM size.

Use of percpu_counter structure to track count of orphaned
sockets is causing problems on modern hosts with 256 cpus
or more.
Stefan Bach reported a serious spinlock contention in real workloads,
that I was able to reproduce with a netfilter rule dropping

As explained in commit cf86a086a180 ("net/dst: use a smaller percpu_counter
batch for dst entries accounting"), default batch size is too big
for the default value of tcp_max_orphans (262144).
But even if we reduce batch sizes, there would still be cases
where the estimated count of orphans is beyond the limit,
and where tcp_too_many_orphans() has to call the expensive
percpu_counter_sum_positive().
One solution is to use plain per-cpu counters, and have
a timer to periodically refresh this cache.
Updating this cache every 100ms seems about right, tcp pressure
state is not radically changing over shorter periods.
percpu_counter was nice 15 years ago while hosts had less
than 16 cpus, not anymore by current standards.

This big patch sprinkles const on local variables and
function arguments which may refer to netdev->dev_addr.
Commit 406f42fa0d3c ("net-next: When a bond have a massive amount
of VLANs...") introduced a rbtree for faster Ethernet address look
up. To maintain netdev->dev_addr in this tree we need to make all
the writes to it got through appropriate helpers.
Some of the changes here are not strictly required - const
is sometimes cast off but pointer is not used for writing.
It seems like it's still better to add the const in case
the code changes later or relevant -W flags get enabled
for the build.
No functional changes.

When possible use dev_err_probe help to properly deal with the
PROBE_DEFER error, the benefit is that DEFER issue will be logged
in the devices_deferred debugfs file.
And using dev_err_probe() can reduce code size, and simplify the code.

When adapter init fails, the blocked freelist bitmap is already freed
up and should not be touched. So, move the bitmap zeroing closer to
where it was successfully allocated. Also handle adapter init failure
unwind path immediately and avoid setting up RDMA memory windows.

The series "PCI/VPD: Convert more users to the new VPD API functions"
was applied to net-next when it should have been applied to the PCI tree
because of build errors. However, commit 82e34c8a9bdf ("Revert "Revert
"cxgb4: Search VPD with pci_vpd_find_ro_info_keyword()""") reapplied a
change, resulting in the warning above.
Properly revert commit 8d63ee602da3 ("cxgb4: Search VPD with
pci_vpd_find_ro_info_keyword()") to fix the warning and restore proper
functionality. This also reverts commit 3a93bedea050 ("cxgb4: Remove
unused vpd_param member ec") to avoid future merge conflicts, as that
change has been applied to the PCI tree.

In order to support more coalesce parameters through netlink,
add two new parameter kernel_coal and extack for .set_coalesce
and .get_coalesce, then some extra info can return to user with
the netlink API.

Currently the interface name and PCI address are printed twice, because
netdev_info() is printing this information implicitly already. This results
in messages like the following. remove the duplicated information.
