7d34a7d7da iwlwifi: always access the trans configuration via trans
Stop accessing the trans configuration via the iwl_cfg structure and
always access it via the iwl_trans structure.  This completes the
requirements to disassociate the trans-specific configuration from the
rest of the configuration.

79b6c8feb6 iwlwifi: separate elements from cfg that are needed by trans_alloc
In order to be able to select the cfg depending on the HW revision or
on the RF ID, we need to set up the trans before selecting the cfg.
To do so, move the elements from cfg that are needed by
iwl_trans_alloc() to a separate struct at the top of the cfg, so it
can be used by other cfg types as well, before selecting the rest of
the configuration.

49175fe63e iwlwifi: dvm: no need to check return value of debugfs_create functions
When calling debugfs functions, there is no need to ever check the
return value.  This driver was saving the debugfs file away to be
removed at a later time.  However, the 80211 core would delete the whole
directory that the debugfs files are created in, after it asks the
driver to do the deletion, so just rely on the 80211 core to do all of
the cleanup for us, making us not need to keep a pointer to the dentries
around at all.

This cleans up the structure of the driver data a bit and makes the code
a tiny bit smaller.

8283f4f85c iwlwifi: lib: Use struct_size() helper
Make use of the struct_size() helper instead of an open-coded version
in order to avoid any potential type mistakes, in particular in the
context in which this code is being used.

So, change the following form:

sizeof(*pattern_cmd) +
               wowlan->n_patterns * sizeof(struct iwlagn_wowlan_pattern)

 to :

struct_size(pattern_cmd, patterns, wowlan->n_patterns)

This code was detected with the help of Coccinelle.

030b43671a wireless: prefix header search paths with $(srctree)/
Currently, the Kbuild core manipulates header search paths in a crazy
way [1].

To fix this mess, I want all Makefiles to add explicit $(srctree)/ to
the search paths in the srctree. Some Makefiles are already written in
that way, but not all. The goal of this work is to make the notation
consistent, and finally get rid of the gross hacks.

Having whitespaces after -I does not matter since commit 48f6e3cf5bc6
("kbuild: do not drop -I without parameter").

I also removed one header search path in:

  drivers/net/wireless/broadcom/brcm80211/brcmutil/Makefile

I was able to compile without it.

64866e5da1 iwlwifi: move iwl_nvm_check_version() into dvm
This function is only half-used by mvm (i.e. only the nvm_version part
matters, since the calibration version is irrelevant), so it's
pointless to export it from iwlwifi.  If mvm uses this function, it
has the additional complexity of setting the calib version to a bogus
value on all cfg structs.

To avoid this, move the function to dvm and make a simple comparison
of the nvm_version in mvm instead.

Alexei's patch, assumed that all versions of "struct iwl_error_event_table"
are the same, but there are really different versions in different files.

Rather than trying to fix this, or splitting the tracepoint, or anything of
the sort, just remove it entirely - turns out that nobody really uses it.

1) Add raw BPF tracepoint API in order to have a BPF program type that
   can access kernel internal arguments of the tracepoints in their

   returns an anon-inode backed fd for the tracepoint object that allows

   intercepting bind() and connect() calls that only works in limited
   scenarios like glibc based apps but not for other runtimes in

3) BPF_F_INGRESS flag support has been added to sockmap programs for
   their redirect helper call bringing it in line with cls_bpf based
   programs. Support is added for both variants of sockmap programs,
   meaning for tx ULP hooks as well as recv skb hooks, from John.

4) Various improvements on BPF side for the nfp driver, besides others
   this work adds BPF map update and delete helper call support from
   the datapath, JITing of 32 and 64 bit XADD instructions as well as
   offload support of bpf_get_prandom_u32() call. Initial implementation
   of nfp packet cache has been tackled that optimizes memory access
   (see merge commit for further details), from Jakub and Jiong.

5) Removal of struct bpf_verifier_env argument from the print_bpf_insn()
   API has been done in order to prepare to use print_bpf_insn() soon
   out of perf tool directly. This makes the print_bpf_insn() API more
   generic and pushes the env into private data. bpftool is adjusted
   as well with the print_bpf_insn() argument removal, from Jiri.

6) Couple of cleanups and prep work for the upcoming BTF (BPF Type
   Format). The latter will reuse the current BPF verifier log as
   well, thus bpf_verifier_log() is further generalized, from Martin.

7) For bpf_getsockopt() and bpf_setsockopt() helpers, IPv4 IP_TOS read
   and write support has been added in similar fashion to existing
   IPv6 IPV6_TCLASS socket option we already have, from Nikita.

8) Fixes in recent sockmap scatterlist API usage, which did not use
   sg_init_table() for initialization thus triggering a BUG_ON() in
   scatterlist API when CONFIG_DEBUG_SG was enabled. This adds and
   uses a small helper sg_init_marker() to properly handle the affected
   cases, from Prashant.

9) Let the BPF core follow IDR code convention and therefore use the
   idr_preload() and idr_preload_end() helpers, which would also help
   idr_alloc_cyclic() under GFP_ATOMIC to better succeed under memory
   pressure, from Shaohua.

10) Last but not least, a spelling fix in an error message for the
    BPF cookie UID helper under BPF sample code, from Colin.

4fe43c2c00 net/wireless/iwlwifi: fix iwlwifi_dev_ucode_error tracepoint
fix iwlwifi_dev_ucode_error tracepoint to pass pointer to a table
instead of all 17 arguments by value.
dvm/main.c and mvm/utils.c have 'struct iwl_error_event_table'
defined with very similar yet subtly different fields and offsets.
tracepoint is still common and using definition of 'struct iwl_error_event_table'
from dvm/commands.h while copying fields.
Long term this tracepoint probably should be split into two.

e99e88a9d2 treewide: setup_timer() -> timer_setup()
This converts all remaining cases of the old setup_timer() API into using
timer_setup(), where the callback argument is the structure already
holding the struct timer_list. These should have no behavioral changes,
since they just change which pointer is passed into the callback with
the same available pointers after conversion. It handles the following
examples, in addition to some other variations.

Casting from unsigned long:

b24413180f License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license
Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.

By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.

Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier.  The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.

This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.

How this work was done:

Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
 - file had no licensing information it it.
 - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
 - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,

Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.

The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne.  Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.

The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed.  Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
 - Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
 - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
   lines of source
 - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
   lines).

All documentation files were explicitly excluded.

The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.

 - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
   considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
   COPYING file license applied.

   For non */uapi/* files that summary was:

 - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
   the concluded license(s).

 - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
   license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
   licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.

 - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
   resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
   which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).

 - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
   confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

 - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
   the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
   in time.

In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights.  The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.

Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.

In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.

Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
 - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
   license ids and scores
 - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
   files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
 - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
   was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
   SPDX license was correct

This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction.  This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.

These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg.  Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected.  This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.)  Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

The first wireless-drivers-next pull request for 4.14. I'm submitting
 this unusally late in the cycle as my vacation postponed this. But
 even if this is late there's not still that much new features, mostly

0b0f934e92 iwlwifi: dvm: prevent an out of bounds access
iwlagn_check_ratid_empty takes the tid as a parameter, but
it doesn't check that it is not IWL_TID_NON_QOS.
Since IWL_TID_NON_QOS = 8 and iwl_priv::tid_data is an array
with 8 entries, accessing iwl_priv::tid_data[IWL_TID_NON_QOS]
is a bad idea.
This happened in iwlagn_rx_reply_tx. Since
iwlagn_check_ratid_empty is relevant only to check whether
we can open A-MPDU, this flow is irrelevant if tid is
IWL_TID_NON_QOS. Call iwlagn_check_ratid_empty only inside
the
	if (tid != IWL_TID_NON_QOS)

a few lines earlier in the function.

Somehow I missed this in my RX rate cleanup series, causing some
drivers to not report correct bandwidth since this flag isn't

a1a5787730 iwlwifi: rename wait_for_tx_queues_empty
Rename current wait_tx_queue_empty to wait_tx_queues_empty since
it waits for multiple queues (up to 32).
Next patch will add a wait for single TX queue which is needed for
gen2 to be scalable for 512.

ae44b50266 wireless: Set NL80211_EXT_FEATURE_CQM_RSSI_LIST in multiple drivers
Set the NL80211_EXT_FEATURE_CQM_RSSI_LIST wiphy extended feature
wholesale in all mac80211-based drivers that do not set the
IEEE80211_VIF_BEACON_FILTER flags on their interfaces.  mac80211 will
be processing supplied RSSI values in ieee80211_rx_mgmt_beacon and
will detect when the thresholds set by
ieee80211_set_cqm_rssi_range_config are crossed.  Remaining (few)
drivers need code to enable the firmware to monitor the thresholds.
This is mostly only compile-tested.

reported a UBSAN WARNING on rs.c.

Undefined behaviour in drivers/net/wireless/intel/iwlwifi/dvm/rs.c:746:18

This because
	i = index - 1;
	for (mask = (1 << i); i >= 0; i--, mask >>= 1)

is unsafe: i could be negative and hence we can call <<
on a negative value.
This bug doesn't have any real impact since the condition
of the for loop will prevent any usage of mask.

eef187a7b8 iwlwifi: enlarge number of ucode sections
The maximum number of firmware sections is now 32 instead of 16 for
a000 devices. Set the appropriate define.  Avoid out of bounds access
in case there are more sections than the maximum set by driver.

Make the driver extensible to FW size changes by allocating the
section memory dynamically.
