In the case where the driver asks for a replay of a certain type of
event (port object or attribute) for a bridge port that is a LAG, it may
do so because this port has just joined the LAG.
But there might already be other switchdev ports in that LAG, and it is
preferable that those preexisting switchdev ports do not act upon the
replayed event.
The solution is to add a context to switchdev events, which is NULL most
of the time (when the bridge layer initiates the call) but which can be
set to a value controlled by the switchdev driver when a replay is
requested. The driver can then check the context to figure out if all
ports within the LAG should act upon the switchdev event, or just the
ones that match the context.
We have to modify all switchdev_handle_* helper functions as well as the
prototypes in the drivers that use these helpers too, because these
helpers hide the underlying struct switchdev_notifier_info from us and
there is no way to retrieve the context otherwise.
The context structure will be populated and used in later patches.

The cpsw driver has rcu_read_lock()/rcu_read_unlock() pairs around XDP
program invocations. However, the actual lifetime of the objects referred
by the XDP program invocation is longer, all the way through to the call to
xdp_do_flush(), making the scope of the rcu_read_lock() too small. This
turns out to be harmless because it all happens in a single NAPI poll
cycle (and thus under local_bh_disable()), but it makes the rcu_read_lock()
misleading.
Rather than extend the scope of the rcu_read_lock(), just get rid of it
entirely. With the addition of RCU annotations to the XDP_REDIRECT map
types that take bh execution into account, lockdep even understands this to
be safe, so there's really no reason to keep it around.

This is because k3_cppi_desc_pool_destroy() which is called after
k3_udma_glue_release_tx_chn() in am65_cpsw_nuss_remove_tx_chns()
references struct device that is unregistered at the end of
k3_udma_glue_release_tx_chn()
Therefore the right order is to call k3_cppi_desc_pool_destroy() and
destroy desc pool before calling k3_udma_glue_release_tx_chn().
Fix this throughout the driver.

The bit-masks used for the TXERRCH and RXERRCH (tx and rx error channels)
are incorrect and always lead to a zero result. The mask values are
currently the incorrect post-right shifted values, fix this by setting
them to the currect values.
(I double checked these against the TMS320TCI6482 data sheet, section
5.30, page 127 to ensure I had the correct mask values for the TXERRCH
and RXERRCH fields in the MACSTATUS register).

the switchdev notifiers for FDB entries managed to have a zero-day bug,
which was that drivers would not know what to do with local FDB entries,
because they were not told that they are local. The bug fix was to
simply not notify them of those addresses.
Let us now add the 'is_local' bit to bridge FDB entries, and make all
drivers ignore these entries by their own choice.

of_get_mac_address() returns a "const void*" pointer to a MAC address.
Lately, support to fetch the MAC address by an NVMEM provider was added.
But this will only work with platform devices. It will not work with
PCI devices (e.g. of an integrated root complex) and esp. not with DSA
ports.
There is an of_* variant of the nvmem binding which works without
devices. The returned data of a nvmem_cell_read() has to be freed after
use. On the other hand the return of_get_mac_address() points to some
static data without a lifetime. The trick for now, was to allocate a
device resource managed buffer which is then returned. This will only
work if we have an actual device.
Change it, so that the caller of of_get_mac_address() has to supply a
buffer where the MAC address is written to. Unfortunately, this will
touch all drivers which use the of_get_mac_address().
Usually the code looks like:

Sometimes is_valid_ether_addr() is used to test the MAC address.
of_get_mac_address() already makes sure, it just returns a valid MAC
address. Thus we can just test its return code. But we have to be
careful if there are still other sources for the MAC address before the
of_get_mac_address(). In this case we have to keep the
is_valid_ether_addr() call.
The following coccinelle patch was used to convert common cases to the
new style. Afterwards, I've manually gone over the drivers and fixed the
return code variable: either used a new one or if one was already

We want to change the current ndo_xdp_xmit drop semantics because it will
allow us to implement better queue overflow handling. This is working
towards the larger goal of a XDP TX queue-hook. Move XDP_REDIRECT error
path handling from each XDP ethernet driver to devmap code. According to
the new APIs, the driver running the ndo_xdp_xmit pointer, will break tx
loop whenever the hw reports a tx error and it will just return to devmap
caller the number of successfully transmitted frames. It will be devmap
responsibility to free dropped frames.

This switchdev attribute offers a counterproductive API for a driver
writer, because although br_switchdev_set_port_flag gets passed a
"flags" and a "mask", those are passed piecemeal to the driver, so while
the PRE_BRIDGE_FLAGS listener knows what changed because it has the
"mask", the BRIDGE_FLAGS listener doesn't, because it only has the final
value. But certain drivers can offload only certain combinations of
settings, like for example they cannot change unicast flooding
independently of multicast flooding - they must be both on or both off.
The way the information is passed to switchdev makes drivers not
expressive enough, and unable to reject this request ahead of time, in
the PRE_BRIDGE_FLAGS notifier, so they are forced to reject it during
the deferred BRIDGE_FLAGS attribute, where the rejection is currently
ignored.
This patch also changes drivers to make use of the "mask" field for edge
detection when possible.

J721e, J7200 and AM64 have multi port switches which can work in multi
mac mode and in switch mode. Add support for configuring this HW in
switch mode using devlink and switchdev notifiers.
Support is similar to existing CPSW switchdev implementation of TI's 32 bit
platform like AM33/AM43/AM57.
To enable switch mode:

All configuration is implemented via switchdev API and notifiers.

AM65 NUSS ethernet switch on K3 devices can be configured to work either
in independent mac mode where each port acts as independent network
interface (multi mac) or switch mode.
Add devlink hooks to provide a way to switch b/w these modes.
Rationale to use devlink instead of defaulting to bridge mode is that
SoC use cases require to support multiple independent MAC ports with no
switching so that users can use software bridges with multi-mac
configuration (e.g: to support LAG, HSR/PRP, etc). Also, switching
between multi mac and switch mode requires significant Port and ALE
reconfiguration, therefore is easier to be made as part of mode change
devlink hooks. It also allows to keep user interface similar to what
was implemented for the previous generation of TI CPSW IP
(on AM33/AM43/AM57 SoCs).

Align netdevice statistics when the device is running in XDP mode
to other upstream drivers. In particular report to user-space rx
packets even if they are not forwarded to the networking stack
(XDP_PASS) but if they are redirected (XDP_REDIRECT), dropped (XDP_DROP)
or sent back using the same interface (XDP_TX). This patch allows the
system administrator to verify the device is receiving data correctly.

The TI AM64x SoCs Gigabit Ethernet Switch subsystem (CPSW3g NUSS) has three
ports (2 ext. ports) and provides Ethernet packet communication for the
device and can be configured in multi port mode or as an Ethernet switch.
This patch adds support for the corresponding CPSW3g version.

Use the glue layer's functions to convert the dma_addr_t to and from CPPI5
address (with the ASEL bits), which should be used within the descriptors
and data buffers.
- Per channel coherency support
The DMAs use the 'ASEL' bits to select data and configuration fetch path.
The ASEL bits are placed at the unused parts of any address field used by
the DMAs (pointers to descriptors, addresses in descriptors, ring base
addresses). The ASEL is not part of the address (the DMAs can address
48bits). Individual channels can be configured to be coherent (via ACP
port) or non coherent individually by configuring the ASEL to appropriate
value.

For DMA API the DMA device should be used as cpsw does not accesses to
descriptors or data buffers in any ways. The DMA does.
Also, drop dma_coerce_mask_and_coherent() setting on CPSW device, as it
should be done by DMA driver which does data movement.
This is required for adding AM64x CPSW3g support where DMA coherency
supported per DMA channel.

Since the introduction of the switchdev API, port attributes were
transmitted to drivers for offloading using a two-step transactional
model, with a prepare phase that was supposed to catch all errors, and a
commit phase that was supposed to never fail.
Some classes of failures can never be avoided, like hardware access, or
memory allocation. In the latter case, merely attempting to move the
memory allocation to the preparation phase makes it impossible to avoid
memory leaks, since commit 91cf8eceffc1 ("switchdev: Remove unused
transaction item queue") which has removed the unused mechanism of
passing on the allocated memory between one phase and another.
It is time we admit that separating the preparation from the commit
phase is something that is best left for the driver to decide, and not
something that should be baked into the API, especially since there are
no switchdev callers that depend on this.
This patch removes the struct switchdev_trans member from switchdev port
attribute notifier structures, and converts drivers to not look at this
member.
In part, this patch contains a revert of my previous commit 2e554a7a5d8a
("net: dsa: propagate switchdev vlan_filtering prepare phase to
drivers").
For the most part, the conversion was trivial except for:
- Rocker's world implementation based on Broadcom OF-DPA had an odd
implementation of ofdpa_port_attr_bridge_flags_set. The conversion was
done mechanically, by pasting the implementation twice, then only
keeping the code that would get executed during prepare phase on top,
then only keeping the code that gets executed during the commit phase
on bottom, then simplifying the resulting code until this was obtained.
- DSA's offloading of STP state, bridge flags, VLAN filtering and
multicast router could be converted right away. But the ageing time
could not, so a shim was introduced and this was left for a further
commit.

Where driver conversion is trivial (like in the case of the Marvell
Prestera driver, NXP DPAA2 switch, TI CPSW, and Rocker drivers), it is
done in this patch.
Where driver conversion needs more attention (DSA, Mellanox Spectrum),
the conversion is left for subsequent patches and here we only fake the
prepare/commit phases at a lower level, just not in the switchdev
notifier itself.
Where the code has a natural structure that is best left alone as a
preparation and a commit phase (as in the case of the Ocelot switch),
that structure is left in place, just made to not depend upon the
switchdev transactional model.

The ranges UAPI was introduced to the bridge in commit bdced7ef7838
("bridge: support for multiple vlans and vlan ranges in setlink and
dellink requests") (Jan 10 2015). But the VLAN ranges (parsed in br_afspec)
have always been passed one by one, through struct bridge_vlan_info
tmp_vinfo, to br_vlan_info. So the range never went too far in depth.
Then Scott Feldman introduced the switchdev_port_bridge_setlink function
in commit 47f8328bb1a4 ("switchdev: add new switchdev bridge setlink").
That marked the introduction of the SWITCHDEV_OBJ_PORT_VLAN, which made
full use of the range. But switchdev_port_bridge_setlink was called like
this:

-> switchdev_port_bridge_setlink
Basically, the switchdev and the bridge code were not tightly integrated.
Then commit 41c498b9359e ("bridge: restore br_setlink back to original")
came, and switchdev drivers were required to implement
.ndo_bridge_setlink = switchdev_port_bridge_setlink for a while.
In the meantime, commits such as 0944d6b5a2fa ("bridge: try switchdev op
first in __vlan_vid_add/del") finally made switchdev penetrate the
br_vlan_info() barrier and start to develop the call path we have today.
But remember, br_vlan_info() still receives VLANs one by one.
Then Arkadi Sharshevsky refactored the switchdev API in 2017 in commit
29ab586c3d83 ("net: switchdev: Remove bridge bypass support from
switchdev") so that drivers would not implement .ndo_bridge_setlink any
longer. The switchdev_port_bridge_setlink also got deleted.
This refactoring removed the parallel bridge_setlink implementation from
switchdev, and left the only switchdev VLAN objects to be the ones
offloaded from __vlan_vid_add (basically RX filtering) and __vlan_add
(the latter coming from commit 9c86ce2c1ae3 ("net: bridge: Notify about
bridge VLANs")).
That is to say, today the switchdev VLAN object ranges are not used in
the kernel. Refactoring the above call path is a bit complicated, when
the bridge VLAN call path is already a bit complicated.
Let's go off and finish the job of commit 29ab586c3d83 by deleting the
bogus iteration through the VLAN ranges from the drivers. Some aspects
of this feature never made too much sense in the first place. For
example, what is a range of VLANs all having the BRIDGE_VLAN_INFO_PVID
flag supposed to mean, when a port can obviously have a single pvid?
This particular configuration _is_ denied as of commit 6623c60dc28e
("bridge: vlan: enforce no pvid flag in vlan ranges"), but from an API
perspective, the driver still has to play pretend, and only offload the
vlan->vid_end as pvid. And the addition of a switchdev VLAN object can
modify the flags of another, completely unrelated, switchdev VLAN
object! (a VLAN that is PVID will invalidate the PVID flag from whatever
other VLAN had previously been offloaded with switchdev and had that
flag. Yet switchdev never notifies about that change, drivers are
supposed to guess).
Nonetheless, having a VLAN range in the API makes error handling look
scarier than it really is - unwinding on errors and all of that.
When in reality, no one really calls this API with more than one VLAN.
It is all unnecessary complexity.
And despite appearing pretentious (two-phase transactional model and
all), the switchdev API is really sloppy because the VLAN addition and
removal operations are not paired with one another (you can add a VLAN
100 times and delete it just once). The bridge notifies through
switchdev of a VLAN addition not only when the flags of an existing VLAN
change, but also when nothing changes. There are switchdev drivers out
there who don't like adding a VLAN that has already been added, and
those checks don't really belong at driver level. But the fact that the
API contains ranges is yet another factor that prevents this from being
addressed in the future.
Of the existing switchdev pieces of hardware, it appears that only
Mellanox Spectrum supports offloading more than one VLAN at a time,
through mlxsw_sp_port_vlan_set. I have kept that code internal to the
driver, because there is some more bookkeeping that makes use of it, but
I deleted it from the switchdev API. But since the switchdev support for
ranges has already been de facto deleted by a Mellanox employee and
nobody noticed for 4 years, I'm going to assume it's not a biggie.

The CPTS driver registers PTP PHC clock when first netif is going up and
unregister it when all netif are down. Now ethtool will show:
- PTP PHC clock index 0 after boot until first netif is up;
- the last assigned PTP PHC clock index even if PTP PHC clock is not
registered any more after all netifs are down.
This patch ensures that -1 is returned by ethtool when PTP PHC clock is not
registered any more.

xdp_return_frame_bulk() needs to pass a xdp_buff
to __xdp_return().
strlcpy got converted to strscpy but here it makes no
functional difference, so just keep the right code.

Since commit 7f0a838254bd ("bpf, xdp: Maintain info on attached XDP BPF
programs in net_device"), the XDP program attachment info is now maintained
in the core code. This interacts badly with the xdp_attachment_flags_ok()
check that prevents unloading an XDP program with different load flags than
it was loaded with. In practice, two kinds of failures are seen:
- An XDP program loaded without specifying a mode (and which then ends up
in driver mode) cannot be unloaded if the program mode is specified on
unload.
- The dev_xdp_uninstall() hook always calls the driver callback with the
mode set to the type of the program but an empty flags argument, which
means the flags_ok() check prevents the program from being removed,
leading to bpf prog reference leaks.
The original reason this check was added was to avoid ambiguity when
multiple programs were loaded. With the way the checks are done in the core
now, this is quite simple to enforce in the core code, so let's add a check
there and get rid of the xdp_attachment_flags_ok() callback entirely.

Add napi_id to the xdp_rxq_info structure, and make sure the XDP
socket pick up the napi_id in the Rx path. The napi_id is used to find

Depending on the SoC/platform the CPSW can completely lose context after a
suspend/resume cycle, including CPSW wrapper (WR) which will cause reset of
WR_C0_MISC_EN register, so CPTS IRQ will became disabled.
Fix it by moving CPTS IRQ enabling in cpsw_ndo_open() where CPTS is
actually started.
