Siemens industrial PCs unfortunately can not always be properly
identified the way we used to. An earlier commit introduced code that
allows proper identification without looking at DMI strings that could
differ based on product branding.
Switch over to that proper way and revert commits that used to collect
the machines based on unstable strings.

This mainly implements detection of these devices and will allow
secondary drivers to work on such machines.
The identification is DMI-based with a vendor specific way to tell them
apart in a reliable way.
Drivers for LEDs and Watchdogs will follow to make use of that platform
detection.
There is also some code to allow secondary drivers to find GPIO memory,
that needs to be in place because the pinctrl drivers do not come up.

Intel Platform Monitoring Technology (PMT) support is indicated by presence
of an Intel defined PCIe Designated Vendor Specific Extended Capabilities
(DVSEC) structure with a PMT specific ID. The current MFD implementation
creates child devices for each PMT feature, currently telemetry, watcher,
and crashlog. However DVSEC structures may also be used by Intel to
indicate support for other features. The Out Of Band Management Services
Module (OOBMSM) uses DVSEC to enumerate several features, including PMT.
In order to support them it is necessary to modify the intel_pmt driver to
handle the creation of the child devices more generically. To that end,
modify the driver to create child devices for any VSEC/DVSEC features on
supported devices (indicated by PCI ID). Additionally, move the
implementation from MFD to the Auxiliary bus. VSEC/DVSEC features are
really multifunctional PCI devices, not platform devices as MFD was
designed for. Auxiliary bus gives more flexibility by allowing the
definition of custom structures that can be shared between associated
auxiliary devices and the parent device. Also, rename the driver from
intel_pmt to intel_vsec to better reflect the purpose.
This series also removes the current runtime pm support which was not
complete to begin with. None of the current devices require runtime pm.
However the support will be replaced when a device is added that requires
it.

The clk and regulator frameworks expect clk/regulator consumer-devices
to have info about the consumed clks/regulators described in the device's
fw_node.
To work around this info missing from the ACPI tables on devices where
the int3472 driver is used, the int3472 MFD-cell drivers attach info about
consumers to the clks/regulators when registering these.
This causes problems with the probe ordering wrt drivers for consumers
of these clks/regulators. Since the lookups are only registered when the
provider-driver binds, trying to get these clks/regulators before then
results in a -ENOENT error for clks and a dummy regulator for regulators.
All the sensor ACPI fw-nodes have a _DEP dependency on the INT3472 ACPI
fw-node, so to work around these probe ordering issues the ACPI core /
i2c-code does not instantiate the I2C-clients for any ACPI devices
which have a _DEP dependency on an INT3472 ACPI device until all
_DEP-s are met.
This relies on acpi_dev_clear_dependencies() getting called by the driver
for the _DEP-s when they are ready, add a acpi_dev_clear_dependencies()
call to the discrete.c probe code.
In the tps68470 case calling acpi_dev_clear_dependencies() is already done
by the acpi_gpiochip_add() call done by the driver for the GPIO MFD cell
(The GPIO cell is deliberately the last cell created to make sure the
clk + regulator cells are already instantiated when this happens).
However for proper probe ordering, the clk/regulator cells must not just
be instantiated the must be fully ready (the clks + regulators must be
registered with their subsystems).
Add MODULE_SOFTDEP dependencies for the clk and regulator drivers for
the instantiated MFD-cells so that these are loaded before us and so
that they bind immediately when the platform-devs are instantiated.

MFD-cell, specifying the voltages of the various regulators and
tying the regulators to the sensor supplies so that sensors which use

Since the voltages and supply connections are board-specific, this
introduces a DMI matches int3472_tps68470_board_data struct which

Add driver to handle WMI events, control the keyboard backlight and
bind/unbind the keyboard-touch / digitizer driver so that only one

It may seem a bit weird to handle the toggling of the modes in the

at a time.

The driver core sets struct device->driver before calling out
to the bus' probe() method, this leaves a window where an ACPI
notify may happen on the WMI object before the driver's
probe() method has completed running, causing e.g. the
driver's notify() callback to get called with drvdata
not yet being set leading to a NULL pointer deref.
At a check for this to the WMI core, ensuring that the notify()

The hwmon sysfs-attr should show up under the hwmon-classdev, not under
the tpacpi_sensors_pdev. Pass the tpacpi_hwmon_groups attr-groups array
to hwmon_device_register_with_groups() instead of setting
tpacpi_hwmon_pdriver.driver.dev_groups to it to fix this.
This also requires moving the hwmon_device_register_with_groups() call to
after the subdriver init functions have run so that the is_visible()
calls will work properly.

added those to the tpacpi_groups groups-array which is used to initialize

But before this commit these attributes were registered with

Commit 79f960e29c ("platform/x86: thinkpad_acpi: Convert platform driver
to use dev_groups") introduces the use of driver.dev_groups +
attribute_group.is_visible callbacks replacing the conditional calling of
driver_create_file() for optional attributes.
The is_visible callbacks rely on various tp_features.has_foo flags,
which get set by the subdriver init functions.
But before this fix, thinkpad_acpi_module_init() would call the
subdriver init functions after registering the platform_device and
the tpacpi_pdriver. Which would cause the is_visible callbacks to
get called before the subdriver init functions, which in turn would
cause optional attributes to not get registered at all, even when
the feature is actually present.
Fix this by moving the platform_driver_register(&tpacpi_pdriver) to after
the subdriver init calls; and do the same for the tpacpi_hmon_pdriver.

Remove the dytc_profile_available check from dytc_profile_set(),
that function only gets called if the platform_profile_handler was
registered, so the check is not necessary.
Make tpacpi_dytc_profile_init() return -ENODEV when it does not register
the platform_profile() handler this will cause
dytc_profile_driver_data.flags.init to not get set, which in turn will
cause the dytc_profile_exit() call to get skipped.
Together this avoids the need to have the dytc_profile_available
variable at all, since the information is now duplicated in the
dytc_profile_driver_data.flags.init flag.
Note this leaves a weirdly indented code-block behind, this is
deliberately done to make what actually changes in this commit clear.

Using -ENODEV clearly states what it going on where as a magic return of

This also allows for some cleanups, avoiding the need to translate an

Commit 79f960e29c ("platform/x86: thinkpad_acpi: Convert platform driver
to use dev_groups") accidentally modified tpacpi_kbdlang_init() causing it
to return -ENODEV instead of 0 on machines without kbdlang support
(which are most of them).
ibm_init() sees this -ENODEV as an error causing the entire module to not
load, not good.
Note that technically tpacpi_kbdlang_init() was already buggy before, it
should have returned 1 instead of 0 if the feature is not present.
Rather then fixing tpacpi_kbdlang_init() though, IMHO it is bettter to
just make ibm_init() treat -ENODEV as 1 to fix the issue; and then in
a followup commit also change all the existing "return 1"s from
ibm_init_struct.init() callbacks to "return -ENODEV" as -ENODEV clearly
states what it going on where as a magic return of "1" requires a deep
dive into the code to figure out what is going on.
This will also allow removing some extra ifs to translate -ENODEV to
return 1 in a couple of init() callbacks.

Add support for custom fan curves found on some ASUS ROG laptops.
These laptops have the ability to set a custom curve for the CPU
and GPU fans via two ACPI methods.
This patch adds two pwm<N> attributes to the hwmon sysfs,
pwm1 for CPU fan, pwm2 for GPU fan. Both are under the hwmon of the
name `asus_custom_fan_curve`. There is no safety check of the set
fan curves - this must be done in userspace.
The fans have settings [1,2,3] under pwm<N>_enable:
1. Enable and write settings out
2. Disable and use factory fan mode
3. Same as 2, additionally restoring default factory curve.
Use of 2 means that the curve the user has set is still stored and
won't be erased, but the laptop will be using its default auto-fan
mode. Re-enabling the manual mode then activates the curves again.
Notes:
- pwm<N>_enable = 0 is an invalid setting.
- pwm is actually a percentage and is scaled on writing to device.

When WWAN device wake from S3 deep, under thinkpad platform,
WWAN would be disabled. This disable status could be checked
by command 'nmcli r wwan' or 'rfkill list'.
Issue analysis as below:
When host resume from S3 deep, thinkpad_acpi driver would
call hotkey_resume() function. Finnaly, it will use
wan_get_status to check the current status of WWAN device.
During this resume progress, wan_get_status would always
return off even WWAN boot up completely.
In patch V2, Hans said 'sw_state should be unchanged
after a suspend/resume. It's better to drop the
tpacpi_rfk_update_swstate call all together from the
resume path'.
And it's confimed by Lenovo that GWAN is no longer
available from WHL generation because the design does not
match with current pin control.

A Lenovo ThinkStation S20 (4157CTO BIOS 60KT41AUS) fails to boot on
recent kernels including the think-lmi driver, due to the fact that
errors returned by the tlmi_analyze() function are ignored by
tlmi_probe(), where tlmi_sysfs_init() is called unconditionally.
This results in making use of an array of already freed, non-null
pointers and other uninitialized globals, causing all sorts of nasty
kobject and memory faults.
Make use of the analyze function return value, free a couple leaked
allocations, and remove the settings_count field, which is incremented

RTC based wakeup from s0i3 doesn't work properly on some Green Sardine
platforms. Because of this, a newer SMU for Green Sardine has the ability
to pass wakeup time as argument of the upper 16 bits of OS_HINT message.
With older firmware setting the timer value in OS_HINT will cause firmware
to reject the hint, so only run this path on:
1) Green Sardine
2) Minimum SMU FW
3) RTC alarm armed during s0i3 entry
Using this method has some limitations that the s0i3 wakeup will need to
be between 4 seconds and 18 hours, so check those boundary conditions as
well and abort the suspend if RTC is armed for too short or too long of a
duration.

Provide support for the Nvidia MSN4800-XX line cards for MSN4800
Ethernet modular switch system, providing a high performance switching
solution for Enterprise Data Centers (EDC) for building Ethernet based
clusters, High-Performance Computing (HPC) and embedded environments.
Initial version provides support for line card type MSN4800-C16. This
type of line card is equipped with:
- Lattice CPLD device, used for system and ports control.
- four Nvidia gearbox devices, used for port splitting.
- FPGA device, used for gearboxes management.
- 16x100G QSFP28 ports.
- hotpswap controllers, voltage regulators, analog-to-digital
convertors, nvram devices.
- status LED.
During initialization driver creates:
- line card's I2C tree through "i2c-mux-mlxcpd" driver.
- line card's LED objects through "leds-mlxreg" driver.
- line card's CPLD register space input / output "hwmon" attributes for
line control and monitoring through "mlxreg-io" driver. These
attributes provide CPLD and FPAG versioning, control for upgradable
components burning, NVRAM devices write protection, line card
revision, line card power consuming, line card reset cause
indication, etcetera.
Lattice CPLD device and nvram devices are feeding from auxiliary power
domain and accessible, when line card is powered off. These devices
are connected by line card driver probing routine, invoked after line
card security verification is done by hardware and event lc#n_verified
is received for line card located in slot #n.
Gearboxes, FPGA, hotpswap controllers, voltage regulators,
analog-to-digital convertors are feeding from main power domain. These
devices are connected after power good event "lc#n_powered" is received
for line card located in slot #n.
The driver 'mlxreg-lc' is driven by 'mlxreg-hotplug' driver following
relevant "hotplug" events.

Add initial chassis management support for Nvidia modular Ethernet
switch systems MSN4800, providing a high performance switching solution
for Enterprise Data Centers (EDC) for building Ethernet based clusters,
High-Performance Computing (HPC) and embedded environments.
This system could be equipped with the different types of replaceable
line cards and management board. The first system flavor will support
the line card type MSN4800-C16 equipped with Lattice CPLD devices aimed
for system and ASIC control, one Nvidia FPGA for gearboxes (PHYs)
management, and four Nvidia gearboxes for the port control and with
16x100GbE QSFP28 ports and also with various devices for electrical
control.
The system is equipped with eight slots for line cards, four slots for
power supplies and six slots for fans. It could be configured as fully
populated or with even only one line card. The line cards are
hot-pluggable.
In the future when more line card flavors are to be available (for
example line cards with 8x200Gb Eth port, with 4x400 Eth ports, or with
some kind of smart cards for offloading purpose), any type of line card
could be inserted at any slot.
The system is based on Nvidia Spectrum-3 ASIC. The switch height is
4U and it fits standard rack size.
System could be configured as fully populated or with even only one
line card. The line cards are hot-pluggable.
Line cards are connected to the chassis through I2C interface for the
chassis management operations and through PCIe for the networking
operations. Future line cards could be connected to the chassis through
InfiniBand fabric, instead of PCIe.
The first type of line card supports 16x100GbE QSFP28 Ethernet ports.
Those line cards equipped with the programmable devices aimed for
system control of Nvidia Ethernet switch ASIC control, Nvidia FPGA,
Nvidia gearboxes (PHYs).
The next coming card generations are supposed to support:
- Line cards with 8x200Gbe QSFP28 Ethernet ports.
- Line cards with 4x400Gbe QSFP-DD Ethernet ports.
- Smart cards equipped with Nvidia ARM CPU for offloading and for fast
access to the storage (EBoF).
- Fabric cards for inter-connection.
The basic system initialization flow with input signals from the
programmable device to kernel hotplug driver and with OS response
to some of these signals is depicted below.
lc#n_prsnt *-> Input: line card presence in/out events.
Informational event. Required action - 'udev' event
generation for logging.
lc#n_verified *-> Input: line card verification status events coming
after line card security signature validation by
hardware. Required action - connect line card
driver and initialized line card devices feeding
from system auxiliary power domain.
lc#n_pwr <-* Output: line card power on / off from OS. Action
should be performed by platform power management
driver.
lc#n_powered *-> Input: line card power on/off events coming after
line card "power good" on/off events, mean that
line card power up sequence has been successfully
completed or line card "power good" status has been
dropped. Required action - connect line card
devices feeding from system main power domain.
lc#n_synced *-> Input: line card synchronization events, coming
after hardware-firmware synchronization handshake.
Required action - to enable line card, in case
lc#n_ready has been received before.
lc#n_ready *-> Input: line card ready events, indicating line card
PHYs ready / unready states. Required action -
enable line card, in case lc#n_synced has been
received before.
lc#n_enable <-* Output: line card enable from OS - release FPGA and
PHYs line card devices from reset state. Action
should be performed by platform power management
driver.
lc#n_active *-> Input: when line card "active event" is received
for particular line card, its network, hardware
monitoring and thermal interfaces should be
configured according to the configuration obtained
from the firmware. When opposite "inactive event"
is received all the above interfaces should be
teared down. Required action - connect / disconnect
the above line card interfaces through ASIC I2C
chassis management driver.
For initial support:
- Define new system type 'VMOD0011' to support new modular system.
- Provide initial platform configuration for new system type.
- Extend the registers definitions.
- Add support for modular system registers related to line card
specific events - insertion/removal, power on/off, verification
and activation.
- Add hotplug configuration for the above events.
- Add configurations for hotplug actions for the modular system.

The "wmaa" in the name of the wmaa-backlight-wmi driver was named after
the ACPI method handle for EC-based backlight control on the systems
this driver was tested on during development. However, this "WMAA"
handle is generated by the WMI compilation process, and isn't actually
a part of the backlight control mechanism which this driver supports.
Since the "WMAA" handle isn't actually a part of the firmware backlight
interface, the various identifiers in this driver using "WMAA" or
"wmaa" aren't actually appropriate.
As a common denominator across the systems supported by this driver is
that they are hybrid graphics systems with NVIDIA GPUs, using "nvidia"
in the driver name seems more appropriate than "wmaa". Update the
driver to remove "wmaa" and "WMAA" in identifier names where they
appear. The kerneldoc comments for the enum wmi_brightness_method
values are replaced with the verbatim text from the decompiled BMF code
for this WMI class.

Change kstrtou32() argument 'base' to be zero instead of 'len'.
It works by chance for setting one bit value, but it is not supposed to
work in case value passed to mlxreg_io_attr_store() is greater than 1.
It works for example, for:
echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/mlxplat/mlxreg-io/hwmon/.../jtag_enable
But it will fail for:
echo n > /sys/devices/platform/mlxplat/mlxreg-io/hwmon/.../jtag_enable,
where n > 1.
The flow for input buffer conversion is as below:
_kstrtoull(const char *s, unsigned int base, unsigned long long *res)
calls:
rv = _parse_integer(s, base, &_res);
For the second case, where n > 1:
- _parse_integer() converts 's' to 'val'.
For n=2, 'len' is set to 2 (string buffer is 0x32 0x0a), for n=3
'len' is set to 3 (string buffer 0x33 0x0a), etcetera.
- 'base' is equal or greater then '2' (length of input buffer).
As a result, _parse_integer() exits with result zero (rv):
rv = 0;
while (1) {
...
if (val >= base)-> (2 >= 2)
break;
...
rv++;
...
}
And _kstrtoull() in their turn will fail:

As noted in the "Deprecated Interfaces, Language Features, Attributes,
and Conventions" documentation [1], size calculations (especially
multiplication) should not be performed in memory allocator (or similar)
function arguments due to the risk of them overflowing. This could lead
to values wrapping around and a smaller allocation being made than the
caller was expecting. Using those allocations could lead to linear
overflows of heap memory and other misbehaviors.
So, to avoid open-coded arithmetic in the kzalloc() call inside the
create_attr_set() function the code must be refactored. Using the
struct_size() helper is the fast solution but it is better to switch
this code to common use of attributes.
Then, remove all the custom code to manage hotkey attributes and use the
attribute_group structure instead, refactoring the code accordingly.
Also, to manage the optional hotkey attributes (hotkey_tablet_mode and
hotkey_radio_sw) use the is_visible callback from the same structure.
Moreover, now the hotkey_init_tablet_mode() function never returns a
negative number. So, the check after the call can be safely removed.

returns a negative error number in one case, and a non-1 bitmask in
other cases.
Since all call-sites only check for a 1 or 0 return value, update
the function to return boolean values.
