0396227f4d net/9p: Fix a potential socket leak in p9_socket_open

Both p9_fd_create_tcp() and p9_fd_create_unix() will call
p9_socket_open(). If the creation of p9_trans_fd fails,
p9_fd_create_tcp() and p9_fd_create_unix() will return an
error directly instead of releasing the cscoket, which will
result in a socket leak.

This patch adds sock_release() to fix the leak issue.

There is no lock protection when deleting list in p9_conn_cancel(). After
deleting list in Thread A, thread B will delete the same list again. It
will cause issue of list_del corruption.

Setting req->status to REQ_STATUS_ERROR under lock prevents other
cleanup paths from trying to manipulate req_list.
The other thread can safely check req->status because it still holds a
reference to req at this point.

0b5e6bd72b 9p/trans_fd: always use O_NONBLOCK read/write
commit ef575281b21e9a34dfae544a187c6aac2ae424a9 upstream.

syzbot is reporting hung task at p9_fd_close() [1], for p9_mux_poll_stop()
 from p9_conn_destroy() from p9_fd_close() is failing to interrupt already
started kernel_read() from p9_fd_read() from p9_read_work() and/or
kernel_write() from p9_fd_write() from p9_write_work() requests.

Since p9_socket_open() sets O_NONBLOCK flag, p9_mux_poll_stop() does not
need to interrupt kernel_read()/kernel_write(). However, since p9_fd_open()
does not set O_NONBLOCK flag, but pipe blocks unless signal is pending,
p9_mux_poll_stop() needs to interrupt kernel_read()/kernel_write() when
the file descriptor refers to a pipe. In other words, pipe file descriptor
needs to be handled as if socket file descriptor.

We somehow need to interrupt kernel_read()/kernel_write() on pipes.

A minimal change, which this patch is doing, is to set O_NONBLOCK flag
 from p9_fd_open(), for O_NONBLOCK flag does not affect reading/writing
of regular files. But this approach changes O_NONBLOCK flag on userspace-
supplied file descriptors (which might break userspace programs), and
O_NONBLOCK flag could be changed by userspace. It would be possible to set
O_NONBLOCK flag every time p9_fd_read()/p9_fd_write() is invoked, but still
remains small race window for clearing O_NONBLOCK flag.

If we don't want to manipulate O_NONBLOCK flag, we might be able to
surround kernel_read()/kernel_write() with set_thread_flag(TIF_SIGPENDING)
and recalc_sigpending(). Since p9_read_work()/p9_write_work() works are
processed by kernel threads which process global system_wq workqueue,
signals could not be delivered from remote threads when p9_mux_poll_stop()
 from p9_conn_destroy() from p9_fd_close() is called. Therefore, calling
set_thread_flag(TIF_SIGPENDING)/recalc_sigpending() every time would be
needed if we count on signals for making kernel_read()/kernel_write()
non-blocking.

64e0fb3f78 net/9p: Initialize the iounit field during fid creation
commit aa7aeee169480e98cf41d83c01290a37e569be6d upstream.

Ensure that the fid's iounit field is set to zero when a new fid is
created. Certain 9P operations, such as OPEN and CREATE, allow the
server to reply with an iounit size which the client code assigns to the
p9_fid struct shortly after the fid is created by p9_fid_create(). On
the other hand, an XATTRWALK operation doesn't allow for the server to
specify an iounit value. The iounit field of the newly allocated p9_fid
struct remained uninitialized in that case. Depending on allocation
patterns, the iounit value could have been something reasonable that was
carried over from previously freed fids or, in the worst case, could
have been arbitrary values from non-fid related usages of the memory
location.

The bug was detected in the Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 (WSL2) kernel
after the uninitialized iounit field resulted in the typical sequence of
two getxattr(2) syscalls, one to get the size of an xattr and another
after allocating a sufficiently sized buffer to fit the xattr value, to
hit an unexpected ERANGE error in the second call to getxattr(2). An
uninitialized iounit field would sometimes force rsize to be smaller
than the xattr value size in p9_client_read_once() and the 9P server in
WSL refused to chunk up the READ on the attr_fid and, instead, returned
ERANGE to the client. The virtfs server in QEMU seems happy to chunk up
the READ and this problem goes undetected there.

ff4a198542 net: 9p: initialize sun_server.sun_path to have addr's value only when addr is valid

In p9_fd_create_unix, checking is performed to see if the addr (passed
as an argument) is NULL or not.
However, no check is performed to see if addr is a valid address, i.e.,
it doesn't entirely consist of only 0's.
The initialization of sun_server.sun_path to be equal to this faulty
addr value leads to an uninitialized variable, as detected by KMSAN.
Checking for this (faulty addr) and returning a negative error number
appropriately, resolves this issue.

edd9097171 net/9p: validate fds in p9_fd_open

p9_fd_open just fgets file descriptors passed in from userspace, but
doesn't verify that they are valid for read or writing.  This gets
cought down in the VFS when actually attempting a read or write, but
a new warning added in linux-next upsets syzcaller.

Fix this by just verifying the fds early on.

In some cases, req->req_list may be deleted by both p9_read_work
and p9_fd_cancelled.

We can fix it by ignoring replies associated with a cancelled
request and ignoring cancelled request if message has been received
before lock.

p9_read_work would try to handle an errored req even if it got put to
error state by another thread between the lookup (that worked) and the
time it had been fully read.
The request itself is safe to use because we hold a ref to it from the
lookup (for m->rreq, so it was safe to read into the request data buffer
until this point), but the req_list has been deleted at the same time
status changed, and client_cb already has been called as well, so we
should not do either.

the provided string length and error out if the size was too big.

ad93d62b12 9p/rdma: do not disconnect on down_interruptible EAGAIN

9p/rdma would sometimes drop the connection and display errors in
recv_done when the user does ^C.
The errors were caused by recv buffers that were posted at the time
of disconnect, and we just do not want to disconnect when
down_interruptible is... interrupted.

00f0194cfe 9p/net: put a lower bound on msize

If the requested msize is too small (either from command line argument
or from the server version reply), we won't get any work done.
If it's *really* too small, nothing will work, and this got caught by
syzbot recently (on a new kmem_cache_create_usercopy() call)

Just set a minimum msize to 4k in both code paths, until someone
complains they have a use-case for a smaller msize.

We need to check in both mount option and server reply individually
because the msize for the first version request would be unchecked
with just a global check on clnt->msize.

p9stat_free is more of a cleanup function than a 'free' function as it
only frees the content of the struct; there are chances of use-after-free
if it is improperly used (e.g. p9stat_free called twice as it used to be
possible to)

Clearing dangling pointers makes the function idempotent and safer to use.

The p9_client_version() does not initialize the version pointer. If the
call to p9pdu_readf() returns an error and version has not been allocated
in p9pdu_readf(), then the program will jump to the "error" label and will
try to free the version pointer. If version is not initialized, free()
will be called with uninitialized, garbage data and will provoke a crash.

5c45154990 9p/net: Fix zero-copy path in the 9p virtio transport

The zero-copy optimization when reading or writing large chunks of data
is quite useful.  However, the 9p messages created through the zero-copy
write path have an incorrect message size: it should be the size of the
header + size of the data being written but instead it's just the size
of the header.

This only works if the server ignores the size field of the message and
otherwise breaks the framing of the protocol. Fix this by re-writing the
message size field with the correct value.

Tested by running `dd if=/dev/zero of=out bs=4k count=1` inside a
virtio-9p mount.

When a 9p request is successfully flushed, the server is expected to just
mark it as used without sending a 9p reply (ie, without writing data into
the buffer). In this case, virtqueue_get_buf() will return len == 0 and
we must not report a REQ_STATUS_RCVD status to the client, otherwise the
client will erroneously assume the request has not been flushed.

Because userspace gets Very Unhappy when calls like stat() and execve()
return -EINTR on 9p filesystem mounts. For instance, when bash is
looking in PATH for things to execute and some SIGCHLD interrupts
stat(), bash can throw a spurious 'command not found' since it doesn't
retry the stat().

In practice, hitting the problem is rare and needs a really
slow/bogged down 9p server.

ed082d36a7 IB/core: add support to create a unsafe global rkey to ib_create_pd
Instead of exposing ib_get_dma_mr to ULPs and letting them use it more or
less unchecked, this moves the capability of creating a global rkey into
the RDMA core, where it can be easily audited.  It also prints a warning
everytime this feature is used as well.

287980e49f remove lots of IS_ERR_VALUE abuses
Most users of IS_ERR_VALUE() in the kernel are wrong, as they
pass an 'int' into a function that takes an 'unsigned long'
argument. This happens to work because the type is sign-extended
on 64-bit architectures before it gets converted into an
unsigned type.

However, anything that passes an 'unsigned short' or 'unsigned int'
argument into IS_ERR_VALUE() is guaranteed to be broken, as are
8-bit integers and types that are wider than 'unsigned long'.

Andrzej Hajda has already fixed a lot of the worst abusers that
were causing actual bugs, but it would be nice to prevent any
users that are not passing 'unsigned long' arguments.

This patch changes all users of IS_ERR_VALUE() that I could find
on 32-bit ARM randconfig builds and x86 allmodconfig. For the
moment, this doesn't change the definition of IS_ERR_VALUE()
because there are probably still architecture specific users
elsewhere.

Almost all the warnings I got are for files that are better off
using 'if (err)' or 'if (err < 0)'.
The only legitimate user I could find that we get a warning for
is the (32-bit only) freescale fman driver, so I did not remove
the IS_ERR_VALUE() there but changed the type to 'unsigned long'.
For 9pfs, I just worked around one user whose calling conventions
are so obscure that I did not dare change the behavior.

I was using this definition for testing:

to return according to its users, but also causes a compile-time
warning for any users that do not pass an 'unsigned long' argument.

I suggested this approach earlier this year, but back then we ended
up deciding to just fix the users that are obviously broken. After
the initial warning that caused me to get involved in the discussion
(fs/gfs2/dir.c) showed up again in the mainline kernel, Linus
asked me to send the whole thing again.

fa20105e09 IB/cma: Add support for network namespaces
Add support for network namespaces in the ib_cma module. This is
accomplished by:

1. Adding network namespace parameter for rdma_create_id. This parameter is
   used to populate the network namespace field in rdma_id_private.
   rdma_create_id keeps a reference on the network namespace.
2. Using the network namespace from the rdma_id instead of init_net inside
   of ib_cma, when listening on an ID and when looking for an ID for an
   incoming request.
3. Decrementing the reference count for the appropriate network namespace
   when calling rdma_destroy_id.

In order to preserve the current behavior init_net is passed when calling
from other modules.

ea52bf8eda 9p/trans_virtio: reset virtio device on remove
On device shutdown/removal, virtio drivers need to trigger a reset on
the device; if this is neglected, the virtio core will complain about
non-zero device status.

This patch resets the status when the 9p virtio driver is removed
from the system by calling vdev->config->reset on the virtio_device
to send a reset to the host virtio device.

a84b69cb6e 9p: forgetting to cancel request on interrupted zero-copy RPC
If we'd already sent a request and decide to abort it, we *must*
issue TFLUSH properly and not just blindly reuse the tag, or
we'll get seriously screwed when response eventually arrives
and we confuse it for response to later request that had reused
the same tag.

8e37210b38 IB/core: Change ib_create_cq to use struct ib_cq_init_attr
Currently, ib_create_cq uses cqe and comp_vecotr instead
of the extendible ib_cq_init_attr struct.

Earlier patches already changed the vendors to work with
ib_cq_init_attr. This patch changes the consumers too.
