[ Upstream commit 101c9f637efa1655f55876644d4439e552267527 ]
If DRM_IOCTL_SYNCOBJ_TIMELINE_WAIT is invoked with the
DRM_SYNCOBJ_WAIT_FLAGS_WAIT_AVAILABLE flag set but no fence has yet been
submitted for the given timeline point the call will fail immediately
with EINVAL. This does not match the intended behavior where the call
should wait until the fence has been submitted (or the timeout expires).
The following small example program illustrates the issue. It should
wait for 5 seconds and then print ETIME, but instead it terminates right
away after printing EINVAL.
#include <stdio.h>
#include <fcntl.h>
#include <time.h>
#include <errno.h>
#include <xf86drm.h>
int main(void)
{
int fd = open("/dev/dri/card0", O_RDWR);
uint32_t syncobj;
drmSyncobjCreate(fd, 0, &syncobj);
struct timespec ts;
clock_gettime(CLOCK_MONOTONIC, &ts);
uint64_t point = 1;
if (drmSyncobjTimelineWait(fd, &syncobj, &point, 1,
ts.tv_sec * 1000000000 + ts.tv_nsec + 5000000000, // 5s

printf("drmSyncobjTimelineWait failed %d\n", errno);

The "ret" variable is declared as ssize_t and it can hold negative error
codes but the "rk_obj->base.size" variable is type size_t. This means
that when we compare them, they are both type promoted to size_t and the
negative error code becomes a high unsigned value and is treated as
success. Add a cast to fix this.

The difference between drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail() and
drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail_rpm() is
drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail() will commit plane first and
then enable crtc, drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail_rpm() will
enable crtc first and then commit plane.
Before mediatek-drm enables crtc, the power and clk required
by OVL have not been turned on, so the commit plane cannot be
committed before crtc is enabled. That means OVL layer should
not be enabled before crtc is enabled.
Therefore, the atomic_commit_tail of mediatek-drm is hooked with
drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail_rpm().
Another reason is that the plane_state of drm_atomic_state is not
synchronized with the plane_state stored in mtk_crtc during crtc enablng,
so just set all planes to disabled.

Display panel of ASUS Transformer TF700T tablet supports non-continuous

device-trees that are actively using this DSI bridge in upstream yet,
so clearly the broken mode wasn't ever tested properly. It's a bit too

Add a new drm_connector_oob_hotplug_event() function and
oob_hotplug_event drm_connector_funcs member.
On some hardware a hotplug event notification may come from outside the
display driver / device. An example of this is some USB Type-C setups
where the hardware muxes the DisplayPort data and aux-lines but does
not pass the altmode HPD status bit to the GPU's DP HPD pin.
In cases like this the new drm_connector_oob_hotplug_event() function can
be used to report these out-of-band events.
Changes in v2:
- Make drm_connector_oob_hotplug_event() take a fwnode as argument and
have it call drm_connector_find_by_fwnode() internally. This allows
making drm_connector_find_by_fwnode() a drm-internal function and
avoids code outside the drm subsystem potentially holding on the
a drm_connector reference for a longer period.
Changes in v3:
- Drop the data argument to the drm_connector_oob_hotplug_event
function since it is not used atm. This can be re-added later when
a use for it actually arises.

Add a fwnode pointer to struct drm_connector and register an acpi_bus_type
for the connectors with the ACPI subsystem (when CONFIG_ACPI is enabled).
The adding of the fwnode pointer allows drivers to associate a fwnode
that represents a connector with that connector.
When the new fwnode pointer points to an ACPI-companion, then the new
acpi_bus_type will cause the ACPI subsys to bind the device instantiated
for the connector with the fwnode by calling acpi_bind_one(). This will
result in a firmware_node symlink under /sys/class/card#-<connecter-name>/
which helps to verify that the fwnode-s and connectors are properly
matched.

commit e339c6d628fe66c9b64bf31040a55770952aec57 upstream.
If we can't find a free fence register to handle a fault in the GMADR
range just return VM_FAULT_NOPAGE without populating the PTE so that
userspace will retry the access and trigger another fault. Eventually
we should find a free fence and the fault will get properly handled.
A further improvement idea might be to reserve a fence (or one per CPU?)
for the express purpose of handling faults without having to retry. But
that would require some additional work.
Looks like this may have gotten broken originally by
commit 39965b376601 ("drm/i915: don't trash the gtt when running out of fences")
as that changed the errno to -EDEADLK which wasn't handle by the gtt
fault code either. But later in commit 2feeb52859fc ("drm/i915/gt: Fix
-EDEADLK handling regression") I changed it again to -ENOBUFS as -EDEADLK
was now getting used for the ww mutex dance. So this fix only makes

dsi_wait4video_done() API waits for the DSI video mode engine to
become idle so that we can transmit the DCS commands in the
beginning of BLLP. However, with the current sequence, the MDP
timing engine is turned on after the panel's pre_enable() callback
which can send out the DCS commands needed to power up the panel.
During those cases, this API will always timeout and print out the
error spam leading to long bootup times and log flooding.

When building with clang:
drivers/gpu/drm/mediatek/mtk_drm_gem.c:255:10: error: incompatible integer to pointer conversion returning 'int' from a function with result type 'void *' [-Wint-conversion]
255 | return -ENOMEM;
| ^~~~~~~
1 error generated.
GCC reports the same issue as a warning, rather than an error.
Prior to commit 7e542ff8b463 ("drm/mediatek: Use struct dma_buf_map in
GEM vmap ops"), this function returned a pointer rather than an integer.
This function is indirectly called in drm_gem_vmap(), which treats NULL
as -ENOMEM through an error pointer. Return NULL in this block to
resolve the warning but keep the same end result.

commit 57a943ebfcdb4a97fbb409640234bdb44bfa1953 upstream.
For DRM legacy gamma, AMD display manager applies implicit sRGB degamma
using a pre-defined sRGB transfer function. It works fine for DCN2
family where degamma ROM and custom curves go to the same color block.
But, on DCN3+, degamma is split into two blocks: degamma ROM for
pre-defined TFs and `gamma correction` for user/custom curves and
degamma ROM settings doesn't apply to cursor plane. To get DRM legacy
gamma working as expected, enable cursor degamma ROM for implict sRGB
degamma on HW with this configuration.

The offset is just 32bits here so this can potentially overflow if
somebody specifies a large value. Instead reduce the size to calculate
the last possible offset.
The error handling path incorrectly drops the reference to the user

The timeout arg of usb_bulk_msg() is ms already, which has been converted
to jiffies by msecs_to_jiffies() in usb_start_wait_urb(). So fix the usage
by removing the redundant msecs_to_jiffies() in the macros.
And as Hans suggested, also remove msecs_to_jiffies() for the IDLE_TIMEOUT
macro to make it consistent here and so change IDLE_TIMEOUT to
msecs_to_jiffies(IDLE_TIMEOUT) where it is used.

The variable crtc->state->event is often protected by the lock
crtc->dev->event_lock when is accessed. However, it is accessed as a
condition of an if statement in exynos_drm_crtc_atomic_disable() without
holding the lock:
if (crtc->state->event && !crtc->state->active)
However, if crtc->state->event is changed to NULL by another thread right
after the conditions of the if statement is checked to be true, a
null-pointer dereference can occur in drm_crtc_send_vblank_event():
e->pipe = pipe;
To fix this possible null-pointer dereference caused by data race, the
spin lock coverage is extended to protect the if statement as well as the
function call to drm_crtc_send_vblank_event().

This patch save/restore necessary GVT info during i915 suspend/resume so
that GVT enabled QEMU VM can continue running.
Only GGTT and fence regs are saved/restored now. GVT will save GGTT
entries on each host_entry update, restore the saved dirty entries
and re-init fence regs in resume routine.
V2:
- Change kzalloc/kfree to vzalloc/vfree since the space allocated
from kmalloc may not enough for all saved GGTT entries.
- Keep gvt suspend/resume wrapper in intel_gvt.h/intel_gvt.c and
move the actual implementation to gvt.h/gvt.c. (zhenyu)
- Check gvt config on and active with intel_gvt_active(). (zhenyu)
V3: (zhenyu)
- Incorrect copy length. Should be num entries * entry size.
- Use memcpy_toio()/memcpy_fromio() instead of memcpy for iomem.
- Add F_PM_SAVE flags to indicate which MMIOs to save/restore for PM.
V4:
Rebase.
V5:
Fail intel_gvt_save_ggtt as -ENOMEM if fail to alloc memory to save
ggtt. Free allocated ggtt_entries on failure.
V6:
Save host entry to per-vGPU gtt.ggtt_mm on each host_entry update.
V7:
Restore GGTT entry based on present bit.
Split fence restore and mmio restore in different functions.
