[ Upstream commit f85739c0b2b0d98a32f5ca4fcc5501d2b76df4f6 ]

The 8K sample parameter of 12.288Mhz main system bus clock doesn't work
because the I2SC_MR.IMCKDIV must not be 0 according to the sama5d2
series datasheet(I2SC Mode Register of Register Summary).

So use the 6.144Mhz instead of 12.288Mhz to support 8K sample.

667782d7ef ASoC: mchp-spdifrx: fix controls that works with completion mechanism
[ Upstream commit d3681df44e856aab523a6eb7ba15b5e41efcbb1c ]

Channel status get and channel subcode get controls relies on data
returned by controls when certain IRQs are raised. To achieve that
completions are used b/w controls and interrupt service routine. The
concurrent accesses to these controls are protected by
struct snd_card::controls_rwsem.

Issues identified:
- reinit_completion() may be called while waiting for completion
  which should be avoided
- in case of multiple threads waiting, the complete() call in interrupt
will signal only one waiting thread per interrupt which may lead to
  timeout for the others
- in case of channel status get as the CSC interrupt is not refcounted
ISR may disable interrupt for threads that were just enabled it.

To solve these the access to controls were protected by a mutex. Along
with this there is no need for spinlock to protect the software cache
reads/updates b/w controls and ISR as the update is happening only when
requested from control, and only one reader can reach the control.

0c4e4d2ccb ASoC: mchp-spdifrx: fix controls which rely on rsr register
[ Upstream commit fa09fa60385abbf99342494b280da8b4aebbc0e9 ]

The SPDIFRX block is clocked by 2 clocks: peripheral and generic clocks.
Peripheral clock feeds user interface (registers) and generic clock feeds
the receiver.

To enable the receiver the generic clock needs to be enabled and also the
ENABLE bit of MCHP_SPDIFRX_MR register need to be set.

The signal control exported by mchp-spdifrx driver reports wrong status
when the receiver is disabled. This can happen when requesting the signal
and the capture was not previously started. To solve this the receiver
needs to be enabled (by enabling generic clock and setting ENABLE bit of
MR register) before reading the signal status.

As with this fix there are 2 paths now that need to control the generic
clock and ENABLE bit of SPDIFRX_MR register (one path though controls, one
path though configuration) a mutex has been introduced. We can't rely on
subsystem locking as the controls are protected by
struct snd_card::controls_rwsem semaphore and configuration is protected
by a different lock (embedded in snd_pcm_stream_lock_irq()).

The introduction of mutex is also extended to other controls which rely on
SPDIFRX_RSR.ULOCK bit as it has been discovered experimentally that having
both clocks enabled but not the receiver (through ENABLE bit of SPDIFRX.MR)
leads to inconsistent values of SPDIFRX_RSR.ULOCK. Thus on some controls we
rely on software state (dev->trigger_enabled protected by mutex) to
retrieve proper values.

166ae43f02 ASoC: mchp-spdiftx: Fix clang -Wbitfield-constant-conversion
commit 5c5c2baad2b55cc0a4b190266889959642298f79 upstream.

A recent change in clang strengthened its -Wbitfield-constant-conversion
to warn when 1 is assigned to a 1-bit signed integer bitfield, as it can
only be 0 or -1, not 1:

sound/soc/atmel/mchp-spdiftx.c:505:20: error: implicit truncation from 'int' to bit-field changes value from 1 to -1 [-Werror,-Wbitfield-constant-conversion]
          dev->gclk_enabled = 1;
                            ^ ~
  1 error generated.

The actual value of the field is never checked, just that it is not
zero, so there is not a real bug here. However, it is simple enough to
silence the warning by making the bitfield unsigned, which matches the
mchp-spdifrx driver.

[ Upstream commit 0104d52a6a69b06b0e8167f7c1247e8c76aca070 ]

The endianness flag should have been removed when the driver was
ported across from having both a CODEC and CPU side component, to
just having a CPU component and using the dummy for the CODEC. The
endianness flag is used to indicate that the device is completely
ambivalent to the endianness of the data, typically due to the
endianness being lost over the hardware link (ie. the link defines
bit ordering). It's usage didn't have any effect when the driver
had both a CPU and CODEC component, since the union of those equals
the CPU side settings, but now causes the driver to falsely report
it supports big endian. Correct this by removing the flag.

[ Upstream commit c775cbf62ed4911e4f0f23880f01815753123690 ]

The MCLK of the WM8731 on the AT91SAM9G20-EK board is connected to the
PCK0 output of the SoC, intended in the reference software to be supplied
using PLLB and programmed to 12MHz. As originally written for use with a
board file the audio driver was responsible for configuring the entire tree
but in the conversion to the common clock framework the registration of
the named pck0 and pllb clocks was removed so the driver has failed to
instantiate ever since.

Since the WM8731 driver has had support for managing a MCLK provided via
the common clock framework for some time we can simply drop all the clock
management code from the machine driver other than configuration of the
sysclk rate, the CODEC driver still respects that configuration from the
machine driver.

SAMA7G5's I2S-MCC has 4 pairs of DIN/DOUT pins. Since TDM only uses a
single pair of pins for synchronous capture and playback, the controller
needs to be told which of the pair is connected. This can be mentioned
using the "microchip,tdm-data-pair" property from DT. The property is
optional, useful only if TDM is used. If it's missing, DIN/DOUT 0 pins
will be used by default.

Instead of manually managing its DMA buffers using
dma_{alloc,free}_coherent() lets the sound core take care of this using

On one hand this reduces the amount of boiler plate code, but the main
motivation for the change is to use the shared code where possible. This
makes it easier to argue about correctness and that the code does not
