d0af6220bb media: dvb-usb: fix memory leak in dvb_usb_adapter_init()
[ Upstream commit 94d90fb06b94a90c176270d38861bcba34ce377d ]

Syzbot reports a memory leak in "dvb_usb_adapter_init()".
The leak is due to not accounting for and freeing current iteration's
adapter->priv in case of an error. Currently if an error occurs,
it will exit before incrementing "num_adapters_initalized",
which is used as a reference counter to free all adap->priv
in "dvb_usb_adapter_exit()". There are multiple error paths that
can exit from before incrementing the counter. Including the
error handling paths for "dvb_usb_adapter_stream_init()",
"dvb_usb_adapter_dvb_init()" and "dvb_usb_adapter_frontend_init()"
within "dvb_usb_adapter_init()".

This means that in case of an error in any of these functions the
current iteration is not accounted for and the current iteration's
adap->priv is not freed.

Fix this by freeing the current iteration's adap->priv in the
"stream_init_err:" label in the error path. The rest of the
(accounted for) adap->priv objects are freed in dvb_usb_adapter_exit()
as expected using the num_adapters_initalized variable.

f2f6e67522 media: pvrusb2: fix memory leak in pvr_probe
commit 945a9a8e448b65bec055d37eba58f711b39f66f0 upstream.

The error handling code in pvr2_hdw_create forgets to unregister the
v4l2 device. When pvr2_hdw_create returns back to pvr2_context_create,
it calls pvr2_context_destroy to destroy context, but mp->hdw is NULL,
which leads to that pvr2_hdw_destroy directly returns.

Fix this by adding v4l2_device_unregister to decrease the refcount of
usb interface.

7ca91b2d87 media: hdpvr: fix error value returns in hdpvr_read
[ Upstream commit 359c27c6ddbde404f44a9c0d3ec88ccd1e2042f2 ]

Error return values are supposed to be negative in hdpvr_read. Most
error returns are currently handled via an unsigned integer "ret". When
setting a negative error value to "ret", the value actually becomes a
large positive value, because "ret" is unsigned. Later on, the "ret"
value is returned. But as ssize_t is a 64-bit signed number, the error
return value stays a large positive integer instead of a negative
integer. This can cause an error value to be interpreted as the read
size, which can cause a buffer overread for applications relying on the
returned size.

[ Upstream commit 471bec68457aaf981add77b4f590d65dd7da1059 ]

Syzbot reported that -1 is used as array index. The problem was in
missing validation check.

hdw->unit_number is initialized with -1 and then if init table walk fails
this value remains unchanged. Since code blindly uses this member for
array indexing adding sanity check is the easiest fix for that.

hdw->workpoll initialization moved upper to prevent warning in
__flush_work.

29d441903f media: uvcvideo: Fix missing check to determine if element is found in list
[ Upstream commit 261f33388c29f6f3c12a724e6d89172b7f6d5996 ]

The list iterator will point to a bogus position containing HEAD if
the list is empty or the element is not found in list. This case
should be checked before any use of the iterator, otherwise it will
lead to a invalid memory access. The missing check here is before
"pin = iterm->id;", just add check here to fix the security bug.

In addition, the list iterator value will *always* be set and non-NULL
by list_for_each_entry(), so it is incorrect to assume that the iterator
value will be NULL if the element is not found in list, considering
the (mis)use here: "if (iterm == NULL".

Use a new value 'it' as the list iterator, while use the old value
'iterm' as a dedicated pointer to point to the found element, which
1. can fix this bug, due to 'iterm' is NULL only if it's not found.
2. do not need to change all the uses of 'iterm' after the loop.
3. can also limit the scope of the list iterator 'it' *only inside*
   the traversal loop by simply declaring 'it' inside the loop in the
   future, as usage of the iterator outside of the list_for_each_entry
   is considered harmful. https://lkml.org/lkml/2022/2/17/1032

The commit 47677e51e2a4("[media] em28xx: Only deallocate struct

821e5abd21 media: dib0700: fix undefined behavior in tuner shutdown
commit f7b77ebe6d2f49c7747b2d619586d1aa33f9ea91 upstream.

This fixes a problem where closing the tuner would leave it in a state
where it would not tune to any channel when reopened. This problem was
discovered as part of https://github.com/hselasky/webcamd/issues/16.

Since adap->id is 0 or 1, this bit-shift overflows, which is undefined
behavior. The driver still worked in practice as the overflow would in
most environments result in 0, which rendered the line a no-op. When
running the driver as part of webcamd however, the overflow could lead
to 0xff due to optimizations by the compiler, which would, in the end,
improperly shut down the tuner.

The bug is a regression introduced in the commit referenced below. The
present patch causes identical behavior to before that commit for
adap->id equal to 0 or 1. The driver does not contain support for
dib0700 devices with more adapters, assuming such even exist.

Tests have been performed with the Xbox One Digital TV Tuner on amd64.
Not all dib0700 devices are expected to be affected by the regression;
this code path is only taken by those with incorrect endpoint numbers.

commit 44870a9e7a3c24acbb3f888b2a7cc22c9bdf7e7f upstream.

Syzbot reported, that mxl111sf_ctrl_msg() uses uninitialized
mutex. The problem was in wrong mutex_init() location.

Previous mutex_init(&state->msg_lock) call was in ->init() function, but
dvb_usbv2_init() has this order of calls:

	dvb_usbv2_init()
	  dvb_usbv2_adapter_init()
	    dvb_usbv2_adapter_frontend_init()
	      props->frontend_attach()

	  props->init()

Since mxl111sf_* devices call mxl111sf_ctrl_msg() in ->frontend_attach()
internally we need to initialize state->msg_lock before
frontend_attach(). To achieve it, ->probe() call added to all mxl111sf_*
devices, which will simply initiaize mutex.

6fa54bc713 media: em28xx-input: fix refcount bug in em28xx_usb_disconnect
If em28xx_ir_init fails, it would decrease the refcount of dev. However,
in the em28xx_ir_fini, when ir is NULL, it goes to ref_put and decrease

Fix this bug by removing the kref_put in the error handling code
of em28xx_ir_init.

76f22c93b2 media: rtl28xxu: fix zero-length control request
The direction of the pipe argument must match the request-type direction
bit or control requests may fail depending on the host-controller-driver
implementation.

Control transfers without a data stage are treated as OUT requests by
the USB stack and should be using usb_sndctrlpipe(). Failing to do so
will now trigger a warning.

The driver uses a zero-length i2c-read request for type detection so
update the control-request code to use usb_sndctrlpipe() in this case.

Note that actually trying to read the i2c register in question does not
work as the register might not exist (e.g. depending on the demodulator)
as reported by Eero Lehtinen <debiangamer2@gmail.com>.

This reverts commit 25d5ce3a606a1eb23a9265d615a92a876ff9cb5f.

The patch in question causes a regression and was superseded by a second
version. Unfortunately, the first revision ended up being applied
instead of the correct one.

In go7007_alloc() kzalloc() is used for struct go7007

Removing these reduntant initialization steps increases
execution speed a lot:

131ae388b8 media: dvb-usb: Fix error handling in dvb_usb_i2c_init
In dvb_usb_i2c_init, if i2c_add_adapter fails, it only prints an error
message, and then continues to set DVB_USB_STATE_I2C. This affects the
logic of dvb_usb_i2c_exit, which leads to that, the deletion of i2c_adap
even if the i2c_add_adapter fails.

Fix this by returning at the failure of i2c_add_adapter and then move
dvb_usb_i2c_exit out of the error handling code of dvb_usb_i2c_init.
