8c8d0f7ac8 cifs: always initialize struct msghdr smb_msg completely

So far we were just lucky because the uninitialized members
of struct msghdr are not used by default on a SOCK_STREAM tcp
socket.

But as new things like msg_ubuf and sg_from_iter where added
recently, we should play on the safe side and avoid potention
problems in future.

81081a5c9c cifs: revalidate mapping when doing direct writes

When doing direct writes we need to also invalidate the mapping in case
we have a cached copy of the affected page(s) in memory or else
subsequent reads of the data might return the old/stale content
before we wrote an update to the server.

720f6112c3 smb3: check xattr value length earlier

Coverity complains about assigning a pointer based on
value length before checking that value length goes
beyond the end of the SMB.  Although this is even more
unlikely as value length is a single byte, and the
pointer is not dereferenced until laterm, it is clearer
to check the lengths first.

b651f70ed3 cifs: return errors during session setup during reconnects
commit 8ea21823aa584b55ba4b861307093b78054b0c1b upstream.

During reconnects, we check the return value from
cifs_negotiate_protocol, and have handlers for both success
and failures. But if that passes, and cifs_setup_session
returns any errors other than -EACCES, we do not handle
that. This fix adds a handler for that, so that we don't
go ahead and try a tree_connect on a failed session.

9b306339a5 cifs: version operations for smb20 unneeded when legacy support disabled

We should not be including unused smb20 specific code when legacy
support is disabled (CONFIG_CIFS_ALLOW_INSECURE_LEGACY turned
off).  For example smb2_operations and smb2_values aren't used
in that case.  Over time we can move more and more SMB1/CIFS and SMB2.0
code into the insecure legacy ifdefs

a827521975 cifs: destage any unwritten data to the server before calling copychunk_write

because the copychunk_write might cover a region of the file that has not yet
been sent to the server and thus fail.

A simple way to reproduce this is:
truncate -s 0 /mnt/testfile; strace -f -o x -ttT xfs_io -i -f -c 'pwrite 0k 128k' -c 'fcollapse 16k 24k' /mnt/testfile

the issue is that the 'pwrite 0k 128k' becomes rearranged on the wire with
the 'fcollapse 16k 24k' due to write-back caching.

fcollapse is implemented in cifs.ko as a SMB2 IOCTL(COPYCHUNK_WRITE) call
and it will fail serverside since the file is still 0b in size serverside
until the writes have been destaged.
To avoid this we must ensure that we destage any unwritten data to the
server before calling COPYCHUNK_WRITE.

Smatch printed a warning:
	arch/x86/crypto/poly1305_glue.c:198 poly1305_update_arch() error:
	__memcpy() 'dctx->buf' too small (16 vs u32max)

It's caused because Smatch marks 'link_len' as untrusted since it comes
from sscanf(). Add a check to ensure that 'link_len' is not larger than
the size of the 'link_str' buffer.

e208668ef7 cifs: fix double free race when mount fails in cifs_get_root()

When cifs_get_root() fails during cifs_smb3_do_mount() we call
deactivate_locked_super() which eventually will call delayed_free() which
will free the context.
In this situation we should not proceed to enter the out: section in
cifs_smb3_do_mount() and free the same resources a second time.

2eacc0acf6 smb3: do not error on fsync when readonly

Linux allows doing a flush/fsync on a file open for read-only,
but the protocol does not allow that.  If the file passed in
on the flush is read-only try to find a writeable handle for
the same inode, if that is not possible skip sending the
fsync call to the server to avoid breaking the apps.

d140ccb140 cifs: fix a sign extension bug

The problem is the mismatched types between "ctx->total_len" which is
an unsigned int, "rc" which is an int, and "ctx->rc" which is a
ssize_t.  The code does:

	ctx->rc = (rc == 0) ? ctx->total_len : rc;

We want "ctx->rc" to store the negative "rc" error code.  But what
happens is that "rc" is type promoted to a high unsigned int and
'ctx->rc" will store the high positive value instead of a negative
value.

The fix is to change "rc" from an int to a ssize_t.

8b06b0f17f cifs: fix incorrect check for null pointer in header_assemble

Although very unlikely that the tlink pointer would be null in this case,
get_next_mid function can in theory return null (but not an error)
so need to check for null (not for IS_ERR, which can not be returned
here).

        warn: 'tlink' isn't an ERR_PTR

b444064a0e CIFS: Fix a potencially linear read overflow

strlcpy() reads the entire source buffer first. This read may exceed the
destination size limit. This is both inefficient and can lead to linear
read overflows if a source string is not NUL-terminated.

Also, the strnlen() call does not avoid the read overflow in the strlcpy
function when a not NUL-terminated string is passed.

So, replace this block by a call to kstrndup() that avoids this type of
overflow and does the same.

f2a35ade22 cifs: set server->cipher_type to AES-128-CCM for SMB3.0

SMB3.0 doesn't have encryption negotiate context but simply uses
the SMB2_GLOBAL_CAP_ENCRYPTION flag.

When that flag is present in the neg response cifs.ko uses AES-128-CCM
which is the only cipher available in this context.

cipher_type was set to the server cipher only when parsing encryption
negotiate context (SMB3.1.1).

For SMB3.0 it was set to 0. This means cipher_type value can be 0 or 1
for AES-128-CCM.

Fix this by checking for SMB3.0 and encryption capability and setting
cipher_type appropriately.

34413f21ac cifs: fix memory leak in smb2_copychunk_range

When using smb2_copychunk_range() for large ranges we will
run through several iterations of a loop calling SMB2_ioctl()
but never actually free the returned buffer except for the final
iteration.
This leads to memory leaks everytime a large copychunk is requested.

20c60bbc1c cifs: Silently ignore unknown oplock break handle

Make SMB2 not print out an error when an oplock break is received for an
unknown handle, similar to SMB1.  The debug message which is printed for
these unknown handles may also be misleading, so fix that too.

The SMB2 lease break path is not affected by this patch.

Without this, a program which writes to a file from one thread, and
opens, reads, and writes the same file from another thread triggers the
below errors several times a minute when run against a Samba server
configured with "smb2 leases = no".

Under SMB1 + POSIX, if an inode is reused on a server after we have read and
cached a part of a file, when we then open the new file with the
re-cycled inode there is a chance that we may serve the old data out of cache
to the application.
This only happens for SMB1 (deprecated) and when posix are used.
The simplest solution to avoid this race is to force a revalidate
on smb1-posix open.

because some processes that were performing statfs(2) on the share had
been interrupted due to their automount setup when certain users
logged in and out.

Change it to FYI as they should be mostly informative rather than
error messages.

1d2c966913 cifs: ask for more credit on async read/write code paths

When doing a large read or write workload we only
very gradually increase the number of credits
which can cause problems with parallelizing large i/o
(I/O ramps up more slowly than it should for large
read/write workloads) especially with multichannel
when the number of credits on the secondary channels
starts out low (e.g. less than about 130) or when
recovering after server throttled back the number
of credit.

smb311_update_preauth_hash() uses the shash in server->secmech without
appropriate locking, and this can lead to sessions corrupting each
other's preauth hashes.

The following script can easily trigger the problem:

		umount /tmp/mnt$i 2>/dev/null || :

		for i in $(seq $NMOUNTS); do
			umount /tmp/mnt$i
		done
	done

Usually within seconds this leads to one or more of the mounts failing
with the following errors, and a "Bad SMB2 signature for message" is
seen in the server logs:

 CIFS: VFS: \\192.168.0.1 failed to connect to IPC (rc=-13)
 CIFS: VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -13

Fix it by holding the server mutex just like in the other places where
the shashes are used.

While debugging another issue today, Steve and I noticed that if a
subdir for a file share is already mounted on the client, any new
mount of any other subdir (or the file share root) of the same share
results in sharing the cifs superblock, which e.g. can result in
incorrect device name.

While setting prefix path for the root of a cifs_sb,
CIFS_MOUNT_USE_PREFIX_PATH flag should also be set.
Without it, prepath is not even considered in some places,
and output of "mount" and various /proc/<>/*mount* related
options can be missing part of the device name.

68c825bd27 smb3: fix crediting for compounding when only one request in flight

Currently we try to guess if a compound request is going to
succeed waiting for credits or not based on the number of
requests in flight. This approach doesn't work correctly
all the time because there may be only one request in
flight which is going to bring multiple credits satisfying
the compound request.

Change the behavior to fail a request only if there are no requests
in flight at all and proceed waiting for credits otherwise.

00f581964b cifs: report error instead of invalid when revalidating a dentry fails

Assuming
- //HOST/a is mounted on /mnt
- //HOST/b is mounted on /mnt/b

On a slow connection, running 'df' and killing it while it's
processing /mnt/b can make cifs_get_inode_info() returns -ERESTARTSYS.

This triggers the following chain of events:
=> the dentry revalidation fail
=> dentry is put and released
=> superblock associated with the dentry is put
=> /mnt/b is unmounted

This patch makes cifs_d_revalidate() return the error instead of 0
(invalid) when cifs_revalidate_dentry() fails, except for ENOENT (file
deleted) and ESTALE (file recreated).

ab85b382dc SMB3.1.1: do not log warning message if server doesn't populate salt

In the negotiate protocol preauth context, the server is not required
to populate the salt (although it is done by most servers) so do
not warn on mount.

We retain the checks (warn) that the preauth context is the minimum
size and that the salt does not exceed DataLength of the SMB response.
Although we use the defaults in the case that the preauth context
response is invalid, these checks may be useful in the future
as servers add support for additional mechanisms.

The original intent of returning an error in this function
in the patch:
  "CIFS: Mask off signals when sending SMB packets"
was to avoid interrupting packet send in the middle of
sending the data (and thus breaking an SMB connection),
but we also don't want to fail the request for non-fatal
signals even before we have had a chance to try to
send it (the reported problem could be reproduced e.g.
by exiting a child process when the parent process was in
the midst of calling futimens to update a file's timestamps).

In addition, since the signal may remain pending when we enter the
sending loop, we may end up not sending the whole packet before
TCP buffers become full. In this case the code returns -EINTR
but what we need here is to return -ERESTARTSYS instead to
allow system calls to be restarted.

Mounts to Azure cause an unneeded warning message in dmesg
   "CIFS: VFS: parse_server_interfaces: incomplete interface info"

Azure rounds up the size (by 8 additional bytes, to a
16 byte boundary) of the structure returned on the query
of the server interfaces at mount time.  This is permissible
even though different than other servers so do not log a warning
if query network interfaces response is only rounded up by 8
bytes or fewer.

a0ca8cb2f7 cifs: allow syscalls to be restarted in __smb_send_rqst()

A customer has reported that several files in their multi-threaded app
were left with size of 0 because most of the read(2) calls returned
-EINTR and they assumed no bytes were read.  Obviously, they could
have fixed it by simply retrying on -EINTR.

We noticed that most of the -EINTR on read(2) were due to real-time
signals sent by glibc to process wide credential changes (SIGRT_1),
and its signal handler had been established with SA_RESTART, in which
case those calls could have been automatically restarted by the
kernel.

Let the kernel decide to whether or not restart the syscalls when
there is a signal pending in __smb_send_rqst() by returning
-ERESTARTSYS.  If it can't, it will return -EINTR anyway.

9fda2e7624 Convert trailing spaces and periods in path components
commit 57c176074057531b249cf522d90c22313fa74b0b upstream.

When converting trailing spaces and periods in paths, do so
for every component of the path, not just the last component.
If the conversion is not done for every path component, then
subsequent operations in directories with trailing spaces or
periods (e.g. create(), mkdir()) will fail with ENOENT. This
is because on the server, the directory will have a special
symbol in its name, and the client needs to provide the same.

e2dca8845c cifs: handle -EINTR in cifs_setattr

Some calls that set attributes, like utimensat(), are not supposed to return
-EINTR and thus do not have handlers for this in glibc which causes us
to leak -EINTR to the applications which are also unprepared to handle it.

For example tar will break if utimensat() return -EINTR and abort unpacking
the archive. Other applications may break too.

To handle this we add checks, and retry, for -EINTR in cifs_setattr()

a5513655cf SMB3: Resolve data corruption of TCP server info fields
commit 62593011247c8a8cfeb0c86aff84688b196727c2 upstream.

TCP server info field server->total_read is modified in parallel by
demultiplex thread and decrypt offload worker thread. server->total_read
is used in calculation to discard the remaining data of PDU which is
not read into memory.

Because of parallel modification, server->total_read can get corrupted
and can result in discarding the valid data of next PDU.

aeaa30720d cifs: Return the error from crypt_message when enc/dec key not found.

In crypt_message, when smb2_get_enc_key returns error, we need to
return the error back to the caller. If not, we end up processing
the message further, causing a kernel oops due to unwarranted access

65604f3ea2 cifs: remove bogus debug code

The "end" pointer is either NULL or it points to the next byte to parse.
If there isn't a next byte then dereferencing "end" is an off-by-one out
of bounds error.  And, of course, if it's NULL that leads to an Oops.
Printing "*end" doesn't seem very useful so let's delete this code.

Also for the last debug statement, I noticed that it should be printing
"sequence_end" instead of "end" so fix that as well.
