9e8440a657 spi: spi-gpio: Don't set MOSI as an input if not 3WIRE mode
[ Upstream commit 3a6f994f848a69deb2bf3cd9d130dd0c09730e55 ]

The addition of 3WIRE support would affect MOSI direction even
when still in standard (4 wire) mode. This can lead to MOSI being
at an invalid logic level when a device driver sets an SPI
message with a NULL tx_buf.

spi.h states that if tx_buf is NULL then "zeros will be shifted
out ... " If MOSI is tristated then the data shifted out is subject
to pull resistors, keepers, or in the absence of those, noise.

This issue came to light when using spi-gpio connected to an
ADS7843 touchscreen controller. MOSI pulled high when clocking
MISO data in caused the SPI device to interpret this as a command
which would put the device in an unexpected and non-functional
state.

624a989db9 spi: spidev: mask SPI_CS_HIGH in SPI_IOC_RD_MODE
[ Upstream commit 7dbfa445ff7393d1c4c066c1727c9e0af1251958 ]

Commit f3186dd87669 ("spi: Optionally use GPIO descriptors for CS GPIOs")
has changed the user-space interface so that bogus SPI_CS_HIGH started
to appear in the mask returned by SPI_IOC_RD_MODE even for active-low CS
pins. Commit 138c9c32f090
("spi: spidev: Fix CS polarity if GPIO descriptors are used") fixed only
SPI_IOC_WR_MODE part of the problem. Let's fix SPI_IOC_RD_MODE
symmetrically.

Test case:

	#include <sys/ioctl.h>
	#include <fcntl.h>
	#include <linux/spi/spidev.h>

	int main(int argc, char **argv)
	{
		char modew = SPI_CPHA;
		char moder;
		int f = open("/dev/spidev0.0", O_RDWR);

		if (f < 0)
			return 1;

		ioctl(f, SPI_IOC_WR_MODE, &modew);
		ioctl(f, SPI_IOC_RD_MODE, &moder);

		return moder == modew ? 0 : 2;
	}

255289adce spi: spi-imx: Fix spi_bus_clk if requested clock is higher than input clock
[ Upstream commit db2d2dc9a0b58c6faefb6b002fdbed4f0362d1a4 ]

In case the requested bus clock is higher than the input clock, the correct
dividers (pre = 0, post = 0) are returned from mx51_ecspi_clkdiv(), but
*fres is left uninitialized and therefore contains an arbitrary value.

This causes trouble for the recently introduced PIO polling feature as the
value in spi_imx->spi_bus_clk is used there to calculate for which
transfers to enable PIO polling.

Fix this by setting *fres even if no clock dividers are in use.

This issue was observed on Kontron BL i.MX8MM with an SPI peripheral clock set
to 50 MHz by default and a requested SPI bus clock of 80 MHz for the SPI NOR
flash.

With the fix applied the debug message from mx51_ecspi_clkdiv() now prints the
following:

ee31abd047 spi: stm32: Print summary 'callbacks suppressed' message

c7835f93db spi: spi-rspi: Fix PIO fallback on RZ platforms
[ Upstream commit b620aa3a7be346f04ae7789b165937615c6ee8d3 ]

RSPI IP on RZ/{A, G2L} SoC's has the same signal for both interrupt
and DMA transfer request. Setting DMARS register for DMA transfer
makes the signal to work as a DMA transfer request signal and
subsequent interrupt requests to the interrupt controller
are masked.

PIO fallback does not work as interrupt signal is disabled.

0cdb512da0 spi: Fix erroneous sgs value with min_t()
[ Upstream commit ebc4cb43ea5ada3db46c80156fca58a54b9bbca8 ]

While computing sgs in spi_map_buf(), the data type
used in min_t() for max_seg_size is 'unsigned int' where
as that of ctlr->max_dma_len is 'size_t'.

min_t(unsigned int,x,y) gives wrong results if one of x/y is
'size_t'

Consider the below examples on a 64-bit machine (ie size_t is
64-bits, and unsigned int is 32-bit).
    case 1) min_t(unsigned int, 5, 0x100000001);
    case 2) min_t(size_t, 5, 0x100000001);

Case 1 returns '1', where as case 2 returns '5'. As you can see
the result from case 1 is wrong.

[ Upstream commit 1a4e53d2fc4f68aa654ad96d13ad042e1a8e8a7d ]

max_seg_size is unsigned int and it can have a value up to 2^32
(for eg:-RZ_DMAC driver sets dma_set_max_seg_size as U32_MAX)
When this value is used in min_t() as an integer type, it becomes
-1 and the value of sgs becomes 0.

Fix this issue by replacing the 'int' data type with 'unsigned int'

In zynq_qspi_exec_mem_op(), kzalloc() is directly used in memset(),
which could lead to a NULL pointer dereference on failure of
kzalloc().

Fix this bug by adding a check of tmpbuf.

This bug was found by a static analyzer. The analysis employs
differential checking to identify inconsistent security operations
(e.g., checks or kfrees) between two code paths and confirms that the
inconsistent operations are not recovered in the current function or
the callers, so they constitute bugs.

Note that, as a bug found by static analysis, it can be a false
positive or hard to trigger. Multiple researchers have cross-reviewed
the bug.

Builds with CONFIG_SPI_ZYNQ_QSPI=m show no new warnings,
and our static analyzer no longer warns about this code.

The spi_imx->spi_bus_clk may be uninitialized and thus also zero in
mx51_ecspi_prepare_message(), which would lead to division by zero
in kernel. Since bitbang .setup_transfer callback which initializes
the spi_imx->spi_bus_clk is called after bitbang prepare_message
callback, iterate over all the transfers in spi_message, find the
one with lowest bus frequency, and use that bus frequency for the
delay calculation.

Note that it is not possible to move this CONFIGREG delay back into
the .setup_transfer callback, because that is invoked too late, after

commit 0d5c3954b35eddff0da0436c31e8d721eceb7dc2 upstream.

Commit 3a70dd2d0503 ("spi: mediatek: fix fifo rx mode") claims that
fifo RX mode was never handled, and adds the presumably missing code
to the FIFO transfer function. However, the claim that receive data
was not handled is incorrect. It was handled as part of interrupt
handling after the transfer was complete. The code added with the above
mentioned commit reads data from the receive FIFO before the transfer
is started, which is wrong. This results in an actual transfer error

40e203ce74 spi: stm32: Use dma_request_chan() instead dma_request_slave_channel()
[ Upstream commit 0a454258febb73e4c60d7f5d9a02d1a8c64fdfb8 ]

dma_request_slave_channel() is a wrapper on top of dma_request_chan()
eating up the error code.

By using dma_request_chan() directly the driver can support deferred
probing against DMA.

24b78097a8 spi: imx: add a check for speed_hz before calculating the clock
[ Upstream commit 4df2f5e1372e9eec8f9e1b4a3025b9be23487d36 ]

When some drivers use spi to send data, spi_transfer->speed_hz is
not assigned. If spidev->max_speed_hz is not assigned as well, it
will cause an error in configuring the clock.
Add a check for these two values before configuring the clock. An
error will be returned when they are not assigned.

55f5d771a2 spi: spi-sun6i: Fix chipselect/clock bug
[ Upstream commit 0d7993b234c9fad8cb6bec6adfaa74694ba85ecb ]

The current sun6i SPI implementation initializes the transfer too early,
resulting in SCK going high before the transfer. When using an additional
(gpio) chipselect with sun6i, the chipselect is asserted at a time when
clock is high, making the SPI transfer fail.

This is due to SUN6I_GBL_CTL_BUS_ENABLE being written into
SUN6I_GBL_CTL_REG at an early stage. Moving that to the transfer
function, hence, right before the transfer starts, mitigates that
problem.

afc37630a1 spi: spi-topcliff-pch: Fix potential double free in pch_spi_process_messages()
[ Upstream commit 026a1dc1af52742c5897e64a3431445371a71871 ]

pch_spi_set_tx() frees data->pkt_tx_buff on failure of kzalloc() for
data->pkt_rx_buff, but its caller, pch_spi_process_messages(), will
free data->pkt_tx_buff again. Set data->pkt_tx_buff to NULL after
kfree() to avoid double free.
