ac58b88ccb ftrace: Fix invalid address access in lookup_rec() when index is 0
commit ee92fa443358f4fc0017c1d0d325c27b37802504 upstream.

KASAN reported follow problem:

 BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in lookup_rec
 Read of size 8 at addr ffff000199270ff0 by task modprobe
 CPU: 2 Comm: modprobe
 Call trace:
  kasan_report
  __asan_load8
  lookup_rec
  ftrace_location
  arch_check_ftrace_location
  check_kprobe_address_safe
  register_kprobe

When checking pg->records[pg->index - 1].ip in lookup_rec(), it can get a
pg which is newly added to ftrace_pages_start in ftrace_process_locs().
Before the first pg->index++, index is 0 and accessing pg->records[-1].ip
will cause this problem.

Don't check the ip when pg->index is 0.

780f69a268 tracing: Check field value in hist_field_name()
commit 9f116f76fa8c04c81aef33ad870dbf9a158e5b70 upstream.

The function hist_field_name() cannot handle being passed a NULL field
parameter. It should never be NULL, but due to a previous bug, NULL was
passed to the function and the kernel crashed due to a NULL dereference.
Mark Rutland reported this to me on IRC.

The bug was fixed, but to prevent future bugs from crashing the kernel,
check the field and add a WARN_ON() if it is NULL.

2cc6a3e98f tracing: Add NULL checks for buffer in ring_buffer_free_read_page()
[ Upstream commit 3e4272b9954094907f16861199728f14002fcaf6 ]

In a previous commit 7433632c9ff6, buffer, buffer->buffers and
buffer->buffers[cpu] in ring_buffer_wake_waiters() can be NULL,
and thus the related checks are added.

However, in the same call stack, these variables are also used in
ring_buffer_free_read_page():

tracing_buffers_release()
  ring_buffer_wake_waiters(iter->array_buffer->buffer)
    cpu_buffer = buffer->buffers[cpu] -> Add checks by previous commit
  ring_buffer_free_read_page(iter->array_buffer->buffer)
    cpu_buffer = buffer->buffers[cpu] -> No check

Thus, to avod possible null-pointer derefernces, the related checks
should be added.

These results are reported by a static tool designed by myself.

56ee31167c tracing: Fix poll() and select() do not work on per_cpu trace_pipe and trace_pipe_raw
commit 3e46d910d8acf94e5360126593b68bf4fee4c4a1 upstream.

poll() and select() on per_cpu trace_pipe and trace_pipe_raw do not work
since kernel 6.1-rc6. This issue is seen after the commit
42fb0a1e84ff525ebe560e2baf9451ab69127e2b ("tracing/ring-buffer: Have
polling block on watermark").

This issue is firstly detected and reported, when testing the CXL error
events in the rasdaemon and also erified using the test application for poll()
and select().

This issue occurs for the per_cpu case, when calling the ring_buffer_poll_wait(),
in kernel/trace/ring_buffer.c, with the buffer_percent > 0 and then wait until the
percentage of pages are available. The default value set for the buffer_percent is 50
in the kernel/trace/trace.c.

As a fix, allow userspace application could set buffer_percent as 0 through
the buffer_percent_fops, so that the task will wake up as soon as data is added
to any of the specific cpu buffer.

31b2414abe trace_events_hist: add check for return value of 'create_hist_field'
commit 8b152e9150d07a885f95e1fd401fc81af202d9a4 upstream.

Function 'create_hist_field' is called recursively at
trace_events_hist.c:1954 and can return NULL-value that's why we have
to check it to avoid null pointer dereference.

Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.

76b2390fdc tracing: Make sure trace_printk() can output as soon as it can be used
commit 3bb06eb6e9acf7c4a3e1b5bc87aed398ff8e2253 upstream.

Currently trace_printk() can be used as soon as early_trace_init() is
called from start_kernel(). But if a crash happens, and
"ftrace_dump_on_oops" is set on the kernel command line, all you get will
be:

  [    0.456075]   <idle>-0         0dN.2. 347519us : Unknown type 6
  [    0.456075]   <idle>-0         0dN.2. 353141us : Unknown type 6
  [    0.456075]   <idle>-0         0dN.2. 358684us : Unknown type 6

This is because the trace_printk() event (type 6) hasn't been registered
yet. That gets done via an early_initcall(), which may be early, but not
early enough.

Instead of registering the trace_printk() event (and other ftrace events,
which are not trace events) via an early_initcall(), have them registered at
the same time that trace_printk() can be used. This way, if there is a
crash before early_initcall(), then the trace_printk()s will actually be
useful.

cf79d5410a tracing/hist: Fix out-of-bound write on 'action_data.var_ref_idx'
commit 82470f7d9044842618c847a7166de2b7458157a7 upstream.

When generate a synthetic event with many params and then create a trace
action for it [1], kernel panic happened [2].

It is because that in trace_action_create() 'data->n_params' is up to
SYNTH_FIELDS_MAX (current value is 64), and array 'data->var_ref_idx'
keeps indices into array 'hist_data->var_refs' for each synthetic event
param, but the length of 'data->var_ref_idx' is TRACING_MAP_VARS_MAX
(current value is 16), so out-of-bound write happened when 'data->n_params'
more than 16. In this case, 'data->match_data.event' is overwritten and
eventually cause the panic.

To solve the issue, adjust the length of 'data->var_ref_idx' to be
SYNTH_FIELDS_MAX and add sanity checks to avoid out-of-bound write.

19b651db94 tracing/hist: Fix issue of losting command info in error_log
[ Upstream commit 608c6ed3337850c767ab0dd6c583477922233e29 ]

When input some constructed invalid 'trigger' command, command info
in 'error_log' are lost [1].

The root cause is that there is a path that event_hist_trigger_parse()
is recursely called once and 'last_cmd' which save origin command is
cleared, then later calling of hist_err() will no longer record origin
command info:

  event_hist_trigger_parse() {
    last_cmd_set() // <1> 'last_cmd' save origin command here at first
    create_actions() {
      onmatch_create() {
        action_create() {
          trace_action_create() {
            trace_action_create_field_var() {
              create_field_var_hist() {
                event_hist_trigger_parse() {  // <2> recursely called once

Since 'glob' is empty string while running into the recurse call, we
can trickly check it and bypass the call of hist_err_clear() to solve it.

fe783eeac4 blktrace: Fix output non-blktrace event when blk_classic option enabled
[ Upstream commit f596da3efaf4130ff61cd029558845808df9bf99 ]

When the blk_classic option is enabled, non-blktrace events must be
filtered out. Otherwise, events of other types are output in the blktrace
classic format, which is unexpected.

The problem can be triggered in the following ways:

  # echo 1 > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/options/blk_classic
  # echo 1 > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/events/enable
  # echo blk > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/current_tracer

0758b50692 tracing/ring-buffer: Only do full wait when cpu != RING_BUFFER_ALL_CPUS
full_hit() directly uses cpu as an array index. Since
RING_BUFFER_ALL_CPUS == -1, calling full_hit() with cpu ==
RING_BUFFER_ALL_CPUS will cause an invalid memory access.

The upstream commit 42fb0a1e84ff ("tracing/ring-buffer: Have polling
block on watermark") already does this. This was missed when backporting
to v5.4.y.

This bug was discovered and resolved using Coverity Static Analysis

e65ac2bdda tracing/ring-buffer: Have polling block on watermark
commit 42fb0a1e84ff525ebe560e2baf9451ab69127e2b upstream.

Currently the way polling works on the ring buffer is broken. It will
return immediately if there's any data in the ring buffer whereas a read
will block until the watermark (defined by the tracefs buffer_percent file)
is hit.

That is, a select() or poll() will return as if there's data available,
but then the following read will block. This is broken for the way
select()s and poll()s are supposed to work.

Have the polling on the ring buffer also block the same way reads and
splice does on the ring buffer.

1603feac15 tracing: Free buffers when a used dynamic event is removed
commit 4313e5a613049dfc1819a6dfb5f94cf2caff9452 upstream.

After 65536 dynamic events have been added and removed, the "type" field
of the event then uses the first type number that is available (not
currently used by other events). A type number is the identifier of the
binary blobs in the tracing ring buffer (known as events) to map them to
logic that can parse the binary blob.

The issue is that if a dynamic event (like a kprobe event) is traced and
is in the ring buffer, and then that event is removed (because it is
dynamic, which means it can be created and destroyed), if another dynamic
event is created that has the same number that new event's logic on
parsing the binary blob will be used.

To show how this can be an issue, the following can crash the kernel:

 # cd /sys/kernel/tracing
 # for i in `seq 65536`; do
     echo 'p:kprobes/foo do_sys_openat2 $arg1:u32' > kprobe_events
 # done

For every iteration of the above, the writing to the kprobe_events will
remove the old event and create a new one (with the same format) and
increase the type number to the next available on until the type number
reaches over 65535 which is the max number for the 16 bit type. After it
reaches that number, the logic to allocate a new number simply looks for
the next available number. When an dynamic event is removed, that number
is then available to be reused by the next dynamic event created. That is,
once the above reaches the max number, the number assigned to the event in
that loop will remain the same.

Now that means deleting one dynamic event and created another will reuse
the previous events type number. This is where bad things can happen.
After the above loop finishes, the kprobes/foo event which reads the
do_sys_openat2 function call's first parameter as an integer.

 # echo 1 > kprobes/foo/enable
 # cat /etc/passwd > /dev/null
 # cat trace
             cat-2211    [005] ....  2007.849603: foo: (do_sys_openat2+0x0/0x130) arg1=4294967196

 # echo 0 > kprobes/foo/enable

Now if we delete the kprobe and create a new one that reads a string:

 # echo 'p:kprobes/foo do_sys_openat2 +0($arg2):string' > kprobe_events

And now we can the trace:

This was found when Zheng Yejian sent a patch to convert the event type
number assignment to use IDA, which gives the next available number, and
this bug showed up in the fuzz testing by Yujie Liu and the kernel test
robot. But after further analysis, I found that this behavior is the same
as when the event type numbers go past the 16bit max (and the above shows
that).

As modules have a similar issue, but is dealt with by setting a
"WAS_ENABLED" flag when a module event is enabled, and when the module is
freed, if any of its events were enabled, the ring buffer that holds that
event is also cleared, to prevent reading stale events. The same can be
done for dynamic events.

If any dynamic event that is being removed was enabled, then make sure the
buffers they were enabled in are now cleared.

ec59a13252 ring-buffer: Include dropped pages in counting dirty patches
[ Upstream commit 31029a8b2c7e656a0289194ef16415050ae4c4ac ]

The function ring_buffer_nr_dirty_pages() was created to find out how many
pages are filled in the ring buffer. There's two running counters. One is
incremented whenever a new page is touched (pages_touched) and the other
is whenever a page is read (pages_read). The dirty count is the number
touched minus the number read. This is used to determine if a blocked task
should be woken up if the percentage of the ring buffer it is waiting for
is hit.

The problem is that it does not take into account dropped pages (when the
new writes overwrite pages that were not read). And then the dirty pages
will always be greater than the percentage.

This makes the "buffer_percent" file inaccurate, as the number of dirty
pages end up always being larger than the percentage, event when it's not
and this causes user space to be woken up more than it wants to be.

Add a new counter to keep track of lost pages, and include that in the
accounting of dirty pages so that it is actually accurate.

29d0c45cf1 tracing: Disable interrupt or preemption before acquiring arch_spinlock_t
commit c0a581d7126c0bbc96163276f585fd7b4e4d8d0e upstream.

It was found that some tracing functions in kernel/trace/trace.c acquire
an arch_spinlock_t with preemption and irqs enabled. An example is the
tracing_saved_cmdlines_size_read() function which intermittently causes
a "BUG: using smp_processor_id() in preemptible" warning when the LTP
read_all_proc test is run.

That can be problematic in case preemption happens after acquiring the
lock. Add the necessary preemption or interrupt disabling code in the
appropriate places before acquiring an arch_spinlock_t.

The convention here is to disable preemption for trace_cmdline_lock and
interupt for max_lock.

3cf2ef86e0 ring-buffer: Fix race between reset page and reading page
commit a0fcaaed0c46cf9399d3a2d6e0c87ddb3df0e044 upstream.

The ring buffer is broken up into sub buffers (currently of page size).
Each sub buffer has a pointer to its "tail" (the last event written to the
sub buffer). When a new event is requested, the tail is locally
incremented to cover the size of the new event. This is done in a way that
there is no need for locking.

If the tail goes past the end of the sub buffer, the process of moving to
the next sub buffer takes place. After setting the current sub buffer to
the next one, the previous one that had the tail go passed the end of the
sub buffer needs to be reset back to the original tail location (before
the new event was requested) and the rest of the sub buffer needs to be
"padded".

The race happens when a reader takes control of the sub buffer. As readers
do a "swap" of sub buffers from the ring buffer to get exclusive access to
the sub buffer, it replaces the "head" sub buffer with an empty sub buffer
that goes back into the writable portion of the ring buffer. This swap can
happen as soon as the writer moves to the next sub buffer and before it
updates the last sub buffer with padding.

Because the sub buffer can be released to the reader while the writer is
still updating the padding, it is possible for the reader to see the event
that goes past the end of the sub buffer. This can cause obvious issues.

To fix this, add a few memory barriers so that the reader definitely sees
the updates to the sub buffer, and also waits until the writer has put
back the "tail" of the sub buffer back to the last event that was written
on it.

To be paranoid, it will only spin for 1 second, otherwise it will
warn and shutdown the ring buffer code. 1 second should be enough as
the writer does have preemption disabled. If the writer doesn't move
within 1 second (with preemption disabled) something is horribly
wrong. No interrupt should last 1 second!

7e06ef0345 ring-buffer: Check pending waiters when doing wake ups as well
commit ec0bbc5ec5664dcee344f79373852117dc672c86 upstream.

The wake up waiters only checks the "wakeup_full" variable and not the
"full_waiters_pending". The full_waiters_pending is set when a waiter is
added to the wait queue. The wakeup_full is only set when an event is
triggered, and it clears the full_waiters_pending to avoid multiple calls
to irq_work_queue().

The irq_work callback really needs to check both wakeup_full as well as
full_waiters_pending such that this code can be used to wake up waiters
when a file is closed that represents the ring buffer and the waiters need
to be woken up.

cc1f35733c ring-buffer: Have the shortest_full queue be the shortest not longest
commit 3b19d614b61b93a131f463817e08219c9ce1fee3 upstream.

The logic to know when the shortest waiters on the ring buffer should be
woken up or not has uses a less than instead of a greater than compare,
which causes the shortest_full to actually be the longest.

22707f033d ring-buffer: Allow splice to read previous partially read pages
commit fa8f4a89736b654125fb254b0db753ac68a5fced upstream.

If a page is partially read, and then the splice system call is run
against the ring buffer, it will always fail to read, no matter how much
is in the ring buffer. That's because the code path for a partial read of
the page does will fail if the "full" flag is set.

The splice system call wants full pages, so if the read of the ring buffer
is not yet full, it should return zero, and the splice will block. But if
a previous read was done, where the beginning has been consumed, it should
still be given to the splice caller if the rest of the page has been
written to.

This caused the splice command to never consume data in this scenario, and
let the ring buffer just fill up and lose events.

commit 0ce0638edf5ec83343302b884fa208179580700a upstream.

When executing following commands like what document said, but the log
"#### all functions enabled ####" was not shown as expect:
  1. Set a 'mod' filter:
    $ echo 'write*:mod:ext3' > /sys/kernel/tracing/set_ftrace_filter
  2. Invert above filter:
    $ echo '!write*:mod:ext3' >> /sys/kernel/tracing/set_ftrace_filter
  3. Read the file:
    $ cat /sys/kernel/tracing/set_ftrace_filter

By some debugging, I found that flag FTRACE_HASH_FL_MOD was not unset
after inversion like above step 2 and then result of ftrace_hash_empty()

834f4d856f tracing: hold caller_addr to hardirq_{enable,disable}_ip
[ Upstream commit 54c3931957f6a6194d5972eccc36d052964b2abe ]

Currently, The arguments passing to lockdep_hardirqs_{on,off} was fixed
in CALLER_ADDR0.
The function trace_hardirqs_on_caller should have been intended to use
caller_addr to represent the address that caller wants to be traced.

For example, lockdep log in riscv showing the last {enabled,disabled} at
__trace_hardirqs_{on,off} all the time(if called by):
[   57.853175] hardirqs last  enabled at (2519): __trace_hardirqs_on+0xc/0x14
[   57.853848] hardirqs last disabled at (2520): __trace_hardirqs_off+0xc/0x14

After use trace_hardirqs_xx_caller, we can get more effective information:
[   53.781428] hardirqs last  enabled at (2595): restore_all+0xe/0x66
[   53.782185] hardirqs last disabled at (2596): ret_from_exception+0xa/0x10

934e49f7d6 ftrace: Fix NULL pointer dereference in is_ftrace_trampoline when ftrace is dead
commit c3b0f72e805f0801f05fa2aa52011c4bfc694c44 upstream.

ftrace_startup does not remove ops from ftrace_ops_list when
ftrace_startup_enable fails:

register_ftrace_function
  ftrace_startup
    __register_ftrace_function
      ...
      add_ftrace_ops(&ftrace_ops_list, ops)
      ...
    ...
    ftrace_startup_enable // if ftrace failed to modify, ftrace_disabled is set to 1
    ...
  return 0 // ops is in the ftrace_ops_list.

When ftrace_disabled = 1, unregister_ftrace_function simply returns without doing anything:
unregister_ftrace_function
  ftrace_shutdown
    if (unlikely(ftrace_disabled))
            return -ENODEV; // return here, __unregister_ftrace_function is not executed,
                             // as a result, ops is still in the ftrace_ops_list
    __unregister_ftrace_function
    ...

If ops is dynamically allocated, it will be free later, in this case,
is_ftrace_trampoline accesses NULL pointer:

is_ftrace_trampoline
  ftrace_ops_trampoline
    do_for_each_ftrace_op(op, ftrace_ops_list) // OOPS! op may be NULL!

Syzkaller reports as follows:

ecc6dec12c tracing/histograms: Fix memory leak problem
commit 7edc3945bdce9c39198a10d6129377a5c53559c2 upstream.

This reverts commit 46bbe5c671e06f070428b9be142cc4ee5cedebac.

As commit 46bbe5c671e0 ("tracing: fix double free") said, the
"double free" problem reported by clang static analyzer is:
  > In parse_var_defs() if there is a problem allocating
  > var_defs.expr, the earlier var_defs.name is freed.
  > This free is duplicated by free_var_defs() which frees
  > the rest of the list.

However, if there is a problem allocating N-th var_defs.expr:
  + in parse_var_defs(), the freed 'earlier var_defs.name' is
    actually the N-th var_defs.name;
  + then in free_var_defs(), the names from 0th to (N-1)-th are freed;

                        IF ALLOCATING PROBLEM HAPPENED HERE!!! -+
                                                                 \
                                                                  |
          0th           1th                 (N-1)-th      N-th    V
          +-------------+-------------+-----+-------------+-----------
var_defs: | name | expr | name | expr | ... | name | expr | name | ///
          +-------------+-------------+-----+-------------+-----------

These two frees don't act on same name, so there was no "double free"
problem before. Conversely, after that commit, we get a "memory leak"
problem because the above "N-th var_defs.name" is not freed.

If enable CONFIG_DEBUG_KMEMLEAK and inject a fault at where the N-th
var_defs.expr allocated, then execute on shell like:
  $ echo 'hist:key=call_site:val=$v1,$v2:v1=bytes_req,v2=bytes_alloc' > \
/sys/kernel/debug/tracing/events/kmem/kmalloc/trigger

23b2163b88 tracing: Avoid adding tracer option before update_tracer_options
[ Upstream commit ef9188bcc6ca1d8a2ad83e826b548e6820721061 ]

To prepare for support asynchronous tracer_init_tracefs initcall,
avoid calling create_trace_option_files before __update_tracer_options.
Otherwise, create_trace_option_files will show warning because
some tracers in trace_types list are already in tr->topts.

For example, hwlat_tracer call register_tracer in late_initcall,
and global_trace.dir is already created in tracing_init_dentry,
hwlat_tracer will be put into tr->topts.
Then if the __update_tracer_options is executed after hwlat_tracer
registered, create_trace_option_files find that hwlat_tracer is
already in tr->topts.

c27f744cee tracing: Fix potential double free in create_var_ref()
commit 99696a2592bca641eb88cc9a80c90e591afebd0f upstream.

In create_var_ref(), init_var_ref() is called to initialize the fields
of variable ref_field, which is allocated in the previous function call
to create_hist_field(). Function init_var_ref() allocates the
corresponding fields such as ref_field->system, but frees these fields
when the function encounters an error. The caller later calls
destroy_hist_field() to conduct error handling, which frees the fields
and the variable itself. This results in double free of the fields which
are already freed in the previous function.

Fix this by storing NULL to the corresponding fields when they are freed
in init_var_ref().

4dd5d3310c tracing: Fix return value of __setup handlers
commit 1d02b444b8d1345ea4708db3bab4db89a7784b55 upstream.

__setup() handlers should generally return 1 to indicate that the
boot options have been handled.

Using invalid option values causes the entire kernel boot option
string to be reported as Unknown and added to init's environment
strings, polluting it.

  Unknown kernel command line parameters "BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/bzImage-517rc6
    kprobe_event=p,syscall_any,$arg1 trace_options=quiet
    trace_clock=jiffies", will be passed to user space.

 Run /sbin/init as init process
   with arguments:
     /sbin/init
   with environment:
     HOME=/
     TERM=linux
     BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/bzImage-517rc6
     kprobe_event=p,syscall_any,$arg1
     trace_options=quiet
     trace_clock=jiffies

Return 1 from the __setup() handlers so that init's environment is not
polluted with kernel boot options.

c0f7253376 tracing/histogram: Fix sorting on old "cpu" value
commit 1d1898f65616c4601208963c3376c1d828cbf2c7 upstream.

When trying to add a histogram against an event with the "cpu" field, it
was impossible due to "cpu" being a keyword to key off of the running CPU.
So to fix this, it was changed to "common_cpu" to match the other generic
fields (like "common_pid"). But since some scripts used "cpu" for keying
off of the CPU (for events that did not have "cpu" as a field, which is
most of them), a backward compatibility trick was added such that if "cpu"
was used as a key, and the event did not have "cpu" as a field name, then
it would fallback and switch over to "common_cpu".

This fix has a couple of subtle bugs. One was that when switching over to
"common_cpu", it did not change the field name, it just set a flag. But
the code still found a "cpu" field. The "cpu" field is used for filtering
and is returned when the event does not have a "cpu" field.

This was found by:

  # cd /sys/kernel/tracing
  # echo hist:key=cpu,pid:sort=cpu > events/sched/sched_wakeup/trigger
  # cat events/sched/sched_wakeup/hist

Which showed the histogram unsorted:

{ cpu:         19, pid:       1175 } hitcount:          1
{ cpu:          6, pid:        239 } hitcount:          2
{ cpu:         23, pid:       1186 } hitcount:         14
{ cpu:         12, pid:        249 } hitcount:          2
{ cpu:          3, pid:        994 } hitcount:          5

Instead of hard coding the "cpu" checks, take advantage of the fact that
trace_event_field_field() returns a special field for "cpu" and "CPU" if
the event does not have "cpu" as a field. This special field has the
"filter_type" of "FILTER_CPU". Check that to test if the returned field is
of the CPU type instead of doing the string compare.

Also, fix the sorting bug by testing for the hist_field flag of
HIST_FIELD_FL_CPU when setting up the sort routine. Otherwise it will use
the special CPU field to know what compare routine to use, and since that
special field does not have a size, it returns tracing_map_cmp_none.

6b364ca481 tracing: Fix tp_printk option related with tp_printk_stop_on_boot
[ Upstream commit 3203ce39ac0b2a57a84382ec184c7d4a0bede175 ]

The kernel parameter "tp_printk_stop_on_boot" starts with "tp_printk" which is
the same as another kernel parameter "tp_printk". If "tp_printk" setup is
called before the "tp_printk_stop_on_boot", it will override the latter
and keep it from being set.

This is similar to other kernel parameter issues, such as:
  Commit 745a600cf1a6 ("um: console: Ignore console= option")
or init/do_mounts.c:45 (setup function of "ro" kernel param)

Fix it by checking for a "_" right after the "tp_printk" and if that
exists do not process the parameter.

30af4dcfa8 ftrace: add ftrace_init_nop()
commit fbf6c73c5b264c25484fa9f449b5546569fe11f0 upstream.

Architectures may need to perform special initialization of ftrace
callsites, and today they do so by special-casing ftrace_make_nop() when
the expected branch address is MCOUNT_ADDR. In some cases (e.g. for
patchable-function-entry), we don't have an mcount-like symbol and don't
want a synthetic MCOUNT_ADDR, but we may need to perform some
initialization of callsites.

To make it possible to separate initialization from runtime
modification, and to handle cases without an mcount-like symbol, this
patch adds an optional ftrace_init_nop() function that architectures can
implement, which does not pass a branch address.

Where an architecture does not provide ftrace_init_nop(), we will fall
back to the existing behaviour of calling ftrace_make_nop() with
MCOUNT_ADDR.

At the same time, ftrace_code_disable() is renamed to
ftrace_nop_initialize() to make it clearer that it is intended to
intialize a callsite into a disabled state, and is not for disabling a
callsite that has been runtime enabled. The kerneldoc description of rec
arguments is updated to cover non-mcount callsites.

The reason is elts->pages[i] is alloced by get_zeroed_page.
and kmemleak will not scan the area alloced by get_zeroed_page.
The address stored in elts->pages will be regarded as leaked.

That is, the elts->pages[i] will have pointers loaded onto it as well, and
without telling kmemleak about it, those pointers will look like memory
without a reference.

To fix this, call kmemleak_alloc to tell kmemleak to scan elts->pages[i]

3c9a213e0e tracing: Check pid filtering when creating events
commit 6cb206508b621a9a0a2c35b60540e399225c8243 upstream.

When pid filtering is activated in an instance, all of the events trace
files for that instance has the PID_FILTER flag set. This determines
whether or not pid filtering needs to be done on the event, otherwise the
event is executed as normal.

If pid filtering is enabled when an event is created (via a dynamic event
or modules), its flag is not updated to reflect the current state, and the
events are not filtered properly.

e09e868c63 tracing: Fix pid filtering when triggers are attached
commit a55f224ff5f238013de8762c4287117e47b86e22 upstream.

If a event is filtered by pid and a trigger that requires processing of
the event to happen is a attached to the event, the discard portion does
not take the pid filtering into account, and the event will then be
recorded when it should not have been.

f5bbebfd7c tracing/uprobe: Fix uprobe_perf_open probes iteration
commit 1880ed71ce863318c1ce93bf324876fb5f92854f upstream.

Add missing 'tu' variable initialization in the probes loop,
otherwise the head 'tu' is used instead of added probes.
