7000efb6d8 ALSA: hda/realtek - Enable micmute LED on and HP system
[ Upstream commit 3e0650ab26e2010ee312311612e40e076ed1feca ]

Though the system uses DMIC, headset mic still uses the HDA, let's use
GPIO 0x1 to control the micmute LED.

The micmute LED GPIO has a different polarity to the mute LED GPIO, we
can use the newly added micmute_led_polarity to indicate that.

6f5015ce25 ASoC: sunxi: sun4i-spdif: Add support for Allwinner H616

The SPDIF hardware block found in the H616 SoC has the same layout as
the one found in the H6 SoC, except that it is missing the receiver
side.

Since the driver currently only supports the transmit function, support
for the H616 is identical to what is currently done for the H6.

There is a path in rt5645_jack_detect_work(), where rt5645->jd_mutex
is left locked forever. That may lead to deadlock
when rt5645_jack_detect_work() is called for the second time.

This driver includes the legacy GPIO APIs <linux/gpio.h> and
<linux/of_gpio.h> but does not use any symbols from any of
them.

Drop the includes.

Further the driver is requesting "reset-gpios" rather than
just "reset" from the GPIO framework. This is wrong because
the gpiolib core will add "-gpios" before processing the
request from e.g. device tree. Drop the suffix.

The last problem means that the optional RESET GPIO has
never been properly retrieved and used even if it existed,
but nobody noticed.

01c2d73ae2 ASoC: meson: g12a-tohdmitx: Fix event generation for S/PDIF mux

When a control changes value the return value from _put() should be 1 so
we get events generated to userspace notifying applications of the change.
While the I2S mux gets this right the S/PDIF mux does not, fix the return

bdc00b8c3a ASoC: meson: g12a-tohdmitx: Validate written enum values

When writing to an enum we need to verify that the value written is valid
for the enumeration, the helper function snd_soc_item_enum_to_val() doesn't
do it since it needs to return an unsigned (and in any case we'd need to

fe2d1dda1d ASoC: meson: g12a: extract codec-to-codec utils

The hdmi routing mechanism used on g12a hdmi is also used:
* other Amlogic SoC types
* for the internal DAC path

Each of these codec glues are slightly different but the idea
behind it remains the same. This change extract some helper functions
from the g12a-tohdmitx driver to make them available for other Amlogic
codecs.

Add one more older NUC model that requires quirk to force all pins to be
connected. The display codec pins are not registered properly without
the force-connect quirk. The codec will report only one pin as having
external connectivity, but i915 finds all three connectors on the
system, so the two drivers are not in sync.

Issue found with DRM igt-gpu-tools test kms_hdmi_inject@inject-audio.

The pcm state can be SNDRV_PCM_STATE_DISCONNECTED at disconnect
callback, and there is not an entry of SNDRV_PCM_STATE_DISCONNECTED
in snd_pcm_state_names.

It's been reported that the runtime PM on KONTRON SinglePC (PCI SSID
1734:1232) caused a stall of playback after a bunch of invocations.
(FWIW, this looks like an timing issue, and the stall happens rather
on the controller side.)

As a workaround, disable the default power-save on this platform.

4ef452297d ALSA: info: Fix potential deadlock at disconnection

As reported recently, ALSA core info helper may cause a deadlock at
the forced device disconnection during the procfs operation.

The proc_remove() (that is called from the snd_card_disconnect()
helper) has a synchronization of the pending procfs accesses via
wait_for_completion().  Meanwhile, ALSA procfs helper takes the global
mutex_lock(&info_mutex) at both the proc_open callback and
snd_card_info_disconnect() helper.  Since the proc_open can't finish
due to the mutex lock, wait_for_completion() never returns, either,
hence it deadlocks.

This patch is a workaround for avoiding the deadlock scenario above.

The basic strategy is to move proc_remove() call outside the mutex
lock.  proc_remove() can work gracefully without extra locking, and it
can delete the tree recursively alone.  So, we call proc_remove() at
snd_info_card_disconnection() at first, then delete the rest resources
recursively within the info_mutex lock.

After the change, the function snd_info_disconnect() doesn't do
disconnection by itself any longer, but it merely clears the procfs
pointer.  So rename the function to snd_info_clear_entries() for
avoiding confusion.

The similar change is applied to snd_info_free_entry(), too.  Since
the proc_remove() is called only conditionally with the non-NULL
entry->p, it's skipped after the snd_info_clear_entries() call.

The update of rate_num/den and msbits were factored out to
fixup_unreferenced_params() function to be called explicitly after the
hw_refine or hw_params procedure.  It's called from
snd_pcm_hw_refine_user(), but it's forgotten in the PCM compat ioctl.
This ended up with the incomplete rate_num/den and msbits parameters
when 32bit compat ioctl is used.

This patch adds the missing call in snd_pcm_ioctl_hw_params_compat().

Use "select" to ensure that the required kconfig symbols are set
as expected.
Drop HOSTAUDIO since it is now equivalent to UML_SOUND.

Set CONFIG_SOUND=m in ARCH=um defconfig files to maintain the
status quo of the default configs.

Allow SOUND with UML regardless of HAS_IOMEM. Otherwise there is a
kconfig warning for unmet dependencies. (This was not an issue when
SOUND was defined in arch/um/drivers/Kconfig. I have done 50 randconfig
builds and didn't find any issues.)

When handling an AAD interrupt, if IRQ events read failed (for example,
due to i2c "Transfer while suspended" failure, i.e. when attempting to
read it while DA7219 is suspended, which may happen due to a spurious
AAD interrupt), the events array contains garbage uninitialized values.
So instead of trying to interprete those values and doing any actions
based on them (potentially resulting in misbehavior, e.g. reporting
bogus events), refuse to handle the interrupt.

216953c3de ASoC: da7219: Flush pending AAD IRQ when suspending

da7219_aad_suspend() disables jack detection, which should prevent
generating new interrupts by DA7219 while suspended. However, there is a
theoretical possibility that there is a pending interrupt generated just
before suspending DA7219 and not handled yet, so the IRQ handler may
still run after DA7219 is suspended. To prevent that, wait until the
pending IRQ handling is done.

This patch arose as an attempt to fix the following I2C failure
occurring sometimes during system suspend or resume:

which indicates that the AAD IRQ handler is unexpectedly running when
DA7219 is suspended, and as a result, is trying to read data from DA7219
over I2C and is hitting the I2C driver "Transfer while suspended"
failure.

However, with this patch the above failure is still reproducible. So
this patch does not fix any real observed issue so far, but at least is
useful for confirming that the above issue is not caused by a pending
IRQ but rather looks like a DA7219 hardware issue with an IRQ
unexpectedly generated after jack detection is already disabled.
