There may be some a race condition between timer function
bttv_irq_timeout and bttv_remove. The timer is setup in
probe and there is no timer_delete operation in remove
function. When it hit kfree btv, the function might still be

This bug is found by static analysis, it may be false positive.
Fix it by adding del_timer_sync invoking to the remove function.

commit 86495af1171e1feec79faa9b64c05c89f46e41d1 upstream.
In commit 9011e49d54dc ("modules: only allow symbol_get of
EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL modules") the use of symbol_get is properly restricted
to GPL-only marked symbols. This interacts oddly with the DVB logic
which only uses dvb_attach() to load the dvb driver which then uses
symbol_get().
Fix this up by properly marking all of the dvb_attach attach symbols as
EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL().

Rewrite the core freezer to behave better wrt thawing and be simpler
in general.
By replacing PF_FROZEN with TASK_FROZEN, a special block state, it is
ensured frozen tasks stay frozen until thawed and don't randomly wake
up early, as is currently possible.
As such, it does away with PF_FROZEN and PF_FREEZER_SKIP, freeing up
two PF_flags (yay!).
Specifically; the current scheme works a little like:
freezer_do_not_count();
schedule();
freezer_count();
And either the task is blocked, or it lands in try_to_freezer()
through freezer_count(). Now, when it is blocked, the freezer
considers it frozen and continues.
However, on thawing, once pm_freezing is cleared, freezer_count()
stops working, and any random/spurious wakeup will let a task run
before its time.
That is, thawing tries to thaw things in explicit order; kernel
threads and workqueues before doing bringing SMP back before userspace
etc.. However due to the above mentioned races it is entirely possible
for userspace tasks to thaw (by accident) before SMP is back.
This can be a fatal problem in asymmetric ISA architectures (eg ARMv9)
where the userspace task requires a special CPU to run.
As said; replace this with a special task state TASK_FROZEN and add
the following state transitions:
TASK_FREEZABLE -> TASK_FROZEN
__TASK_STOPPED -> TASK_FROZEN
__TASK_TRACED -> TASK_FROZEN
The new TASK_FREEZABLE can be set on any state part of TASK_NORMAL
(IOW. TASK_INTERRUPTIBLE and TASK_UNINTERRUPTIBLE) -- any such state
is already required to deal with spurious wakeups and the freezer
causes one such when thawing the task (since the original state is
lost).
The special __TASK_{STOPPED,TRACED} states *can* be restored since
their canonical state is in ->jobctl.
With this, frozen tasks need an explicit TASK_FROZEN wakeup and are
free of undue (early / spurious) wakeups.

Deprecate the hexium_gemini, hexium_orion, mxb and ttpci saa7146-based
drivers: these drivers do not use the vb2 framework for video streaming,
instead it uses the old videobuf framework.
We want to get rid of these old drivers, so deprecated these for future
removal.

The term 'videobuf' typically refers to the old videobuf version 1
framework. Avoid using this word in drivers that are converted to
vb2.

Remove the dead code under NGENE_V4L.
Among others, this removes references to the old videobuf framework
that isn't actually used by this driver.

The zoran driver can be moved back to mainline after it has been
converted by Corentin Labbe to vb2.
Note that the zoran driver no longer supports video output, but
video capture is working fine now.

The media_entity_remote_pad() is misnamed, as it operates on a pad and
not an entity. Rename it to media_pad_remote_pad_first() to clarify its
behaviour.

video_device_alloc() allocates memory for vdev,
when video_register_device() fails, it doesn't release the memory and
leads to memory leak, call video_device_release() to fix this.

not all error handling paths have been updated.
Now, if request_irq() fails, we must release some resources.

This driver does not use the virt_to_bus() function, though it
depends on x86 specific fixups in the swiotlb code, which was
last rewritten in commit e380a0394c36 ("x86/PCI: sta2x11: use
default DMA address translation").
It is possible that the driver still fails to build on some
architectures that are missing CONFIG_VIRT_TO_BUS, but it is
always set on x86 machines with the STA2X11 platform enabled.
More likely though is that it was never meant to depend on
CONFIG_VIRT_TO_BUS, and the Kconfig dependency was kept from
an out-of-tree version when the driver was originally merged.
