This is caused by GCC moving memcpy() after assignments in
bpf_jit_plt(), resulting in NULL pointers being written instead of
the return and the target addresses.
Looking at the GCC internals, the reordering is allowed because the
alias analysis thinks that the memcpy() destination and the assignments'
left-hand-sides are based on different objects: new_plt and
bpf_plt_ret/bpf_plt_target respectively, and therefore they cannot
alias.
This is in turn due to a violation of the C standard:
When two pointers are subtracted, both shall point to elements of the
same array object, or one past the last element of the array object
...
From the C's perspective, bpf_plt_ret and bpf_plt are distinct objects
and cannot be subtracted. In the practical terms, doing so confuses the
GCC's alias analysis.
The code was written this way in order to let the C side know a few
offsets defined in the assembly. While nice, this is by no means
necessary. Fix the noncompliance by hardcoding these offsets.

Current average steal timer calculation produces volatile and inflated
values. The only user of this value is KVM so far and it uses that to
decide whether or not to yield the vCPU which is seeing steal time.
KVM compares average steal timer to a threshold and if the threshold
is past then it does not allow CPU polling and yields it to host, else
it keeps the CPU by polling.
Since KVM's steal time threshold is very low by default (%10) it most
likely is not effected much by the bloated average steal timer values
because the operating region is pretty small. However there might be
new users in the future who might rely on this number. Fix average
steal timer calculation by changing the formula from:
avg_steal_timer = avg_steal_timer / 2 + steal_timer;
to the following:
avg_steal_timer = (avg_steal_timer + steal_timer) / 2;
This ensures that avg_steal_timer is actually a naive average of steal
timer values. It now closely follows steal timer values but of course
in a smoother manner.

L1 is rebuilt even if the list already has been set up.
This is caused by the removal of the cpumask_empty() check within
cache_shared_cpu_map_setup().
However architectures can enforce that the shared cpu list is not rebuilt
by simply setting cpu_map_populated of the per cpu cache info structure to
true, which is also the fix for this problem.

The shadow gmap tracks memory of nested guests (guest-3). In certain
scenarios, the shadow gmap needs to be rebuilt, which is a costly operation
since it involves a SIE exit into guest-1 for every entry in the respective
shadow level.
Add kvm stat counters when new shadow structures are created at various
levels. Also add a counter gmap_shadow_create when a completely fresh
shadow gmap is created as well as a counter gmap_shadow_reuse when an
existing gmap is being reused.
Note that when several levels are shadowed at once, counters on all
affected levels will be increased.
Also note that not all page table levels need to be present and a ASCE
can directly point to e.g. a segment table. In this case, a new segment
table will always be equivalent to a new shadow gmap and hence will be
counted as gmap_shadow_create and not as gmap_shadow_segment.

commit 4356e9f841f7fbb945521cef3577ba394c65f3fc upstream.
We've had issues with gcc and 'asm goto' before, and we created a
'asm_volatile_goto()' macro for that in the past: see commits
3f0116c3238a ("compiler/gcc4: Add quirk for 'asm goto' miscompilation
bug") and a9f180345f53 ("compiler/gcc4: Make quirk for
asm_volatile_goto() unconditional").
Then, much later, we ended up removing the workaround in commit
43c249ea0b1e ("compiler-gcc.h: remove ancient workaround for gcc PR
58670") because we no longer supported building the kernel with the
affected gcc versions, but we left the macro uses around.
Now, Sean Christopherson reports a new version of a very similar
problem, which is fixed by re-applying that ancient workaround. But the
problem in question is limited to only the 'asm goto with outputs'
cases, so instead of re-introducing the old workaround as-is, let's
rename and limit the workaround to just that much less common case.
It looks like there are at least two separate issues that all hit in
this area:
(a) some versions of gcc don't mark the asm goto as 'volatile' when it
has outputs:
https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=98619https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=110420
which is easy to work around by just adding the 'volatile' by hand.
(b) Internal compiler errors:
https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=110422
which are worked around by adding the extra empty 'asm' as a
barrier, as in the original workaround.
but the problem Sean sees may be a third thing since it involves bad
code generation (not an ICE) even with the manually added 'volatile'.
but the same old workaround works for this case, even if this feels a
bit like voodoo programming and may only be hiding the issue.

kvm_arch_vcpu_ioctl_set_fpu() allows to set the floating point control
(fpc) register of a guest cpu. The new value is tested for validity by
temporarily loading it into the fpc register.
This may lead to corruption of the fpc register of the host process:
if an interrupt happens while the value is temporarily loaded into the fpc
register, and within interrupt context floating point or vector registers
are used, the current fp/vx registers are saved with save_fpu_regs()
assuming they belong to user space and will be loaded into fp/vx registers
when returning to user space.
test_fp_ctl() restores the original user space / host process fpc register
value, however it will be discarded, when returning to user space.
In result the host process will incorrectly continue to run with the value
that was supposed to be used for a guest cpu.
Fix this by simply removing the test. There is another test right before
the SIE context is entered which will handles invalid values.
This results in a change of behaviour: invalid values will now be accepted
instead of that the ioctl fails with -EINVAL. This seems to be acceptable,
given that this interface is most likely not used anymore, and this is in
addition the same behaviour implemented with the memory mapped interface
(replace invalid values with zero) - see sync_regs() in kvm-s390.c.

The zpci_get_max_write_size() helper is used to determine the maximum
size a PCI store or load can use at a given __iomem address.
For the PCI block store the following restrictions apply:
1. The dst + len must not cross a 4K boundary in the (pseudo-)MMIO space
2. len must not exceed ZPCI_MAX_WRITE_SIZE
3. len must be a multiple of 8 bytes
4. The src address must be double word (8 byte) aligned
5. The dst address must be double word (8 byte) aligned
Otherwise only a normal PCI store which takes its src value from
a register can be used. For these PCI store restriction 1 still applies.
Similarly 1 also applies to PCI loads.
It turns out zpci_max_write_size() instead implements stricter
conditions which prevents PCI block stores from being used where they
can and should be used. In particular instead of conditions 4 and 5 it
wrongly enforces both dst and src to be size aligned. This indirectly
covers condition 1 but also prevents many legal PCI block stores.
On top of the functional shortcomings the zpci_get_max_write_size() is
misnamed as it is used for both read and write size calculations. Rename
it to zpci_get_max_io_size() and implement the listed conditions
explicitly.

When the host invalidates a guest page, it will also check if the page
was used to map the prefix of any guest CPUs, in which case they are
stopped and marked as needing a prefix refresh. Upon starting the
affected CPUs again, their prefix pages are explicitly faulted in and
revalidated if they had been invalidated. A bit in the PGSTEs indicates
whether or not a page might contain a prefix. The bit is allowed to
overindicate. Pages above 2G are skipped, because they cannot be
prefixes, since KVM runs all guests with MSO = 0.
The same applies for nested guests (VSIE). When the host invalidates a
guest page that maps the prefix of the nested guest, it has to stop the
affected nested guest CPUs and mark them as needing a prefix refresh.
The same PGSTE bit used for the guest prefix is also used for the
nested guest. Pages above 2G are skipped like for normal guests, which
is the source of the bug.
The nested guest runs is the guest primary address space. The guest
could be running the nested guest using MSO != 0. If the MSO + prefix
for the nested guest is above 2G, the check for nested prefix will skip
it. This will cause the invalidation notifier to not stop the CPUs of
the nested guest and not mark them as needing refresh. When the nested
guest is run again, its prefix will not be refreshed, since it has not
been marked for refresh. This will cause a fatal validity intercept
with VIR code 37.
Fix this by removing the check for 2G for nested guests. Now all
invalidations of pages with the notify bit set will always scan the
existing VSIE shadow state descriptors.
This allows to catch invalidations of nested guest prefix mappings even
when the prefix is above 2G in the guest virtual address space.

causes a link failure when all the crypto support is in a loadable module
and kexec_file support is built-in:
x86_64-linux-ld: vmlinux.o: in function `__x64_sys_kexec_file_load':
(.text+0x32e30a): undefined reference to `crypto_alloc_shash'
x86_64-linux-ld: (.text+0x32e58e): undefined reference to `crypto_shash_update'
x86_64-linux-ld: (.text+0x32e6ee): undefined reference to `crypto_shash_final'
Both s390 and x86 have this problem, while ppc64 and riscv have the
correct dependency already. On riscv, the dependency is only used for the
purgatory, not for the kexec_file code itself, which may be a bit
surprising as it means that with CONFIG_CRYPTO=m, it is possible to enable
KEXEC_FILE but then the purgatory code is silently left out.
Move this into the common Kconfig.kexec file in a way that is correct
everywhere, using the dependency on CRYPTO_SHA256=y only when the
purgatory code is available. This requires reversing the dependency
between ARCH_SUPPORTS_KEXEC_PURGATORY and KEXEC_FILE, but the effect
remains the same, other than making riscv behave like the other ones.
On s390, there is an additional dependency on CRYPTO_SHA256_S390, which
should technically not be required but gives better performance. Remove
this dependency here, noting that it was not present in the initial
Kconfig code but was brought in without an explanation in commit
71406883fd357 ("s390/kexec_file: Add kexec_file_load system call").

The KERNEL_FPR mask only contains a flag for the first eight vector
registers. However floating point registers overlay parts of the first
sixteen vector registers.
This could lead to vector register corruption if a kernel fpu context uses
any of the vector registers 8 to 15 and is interrupted or calls a
KERNEL_FPR context. If that context uses also vector registers 8 to 15,
their contents will be corrupted on return.
Luckily this is currently not a real bug, since the kernel has only one
KERNEL_FPR user with s390_adjust_jiffies() and it is only using floating
point registers 0 to 2.
Fix this by using the correct bits for KERNEL_FPR.

If the cmma no-dat feature is available the kernel page tables are walked
to identify and mark all pages which are used for address translation (all
region, segment, and page tables). In a subsequent loop all other pages are
marked as "no-dat" pages with the ESSA instruction.
This information is visible to the hypervisor, so that the hypervisor can
optimize purging of guest TLB entries. All pages used for swapper_pg_dir
and invalid_pg_dir are incorrectly marked as no-dat, which in turn can
result in incorrect guest TLB flushes.
Fix this by marking those pages correctly as being used for DAT.

commit 1954da4a2b621a3328a63382cae7e5f5e2af502c upstream.
If the cmma no-dat feature is available all pages that are not used for
dynamic address translation are marked as "no-dat" with the ESSA
instruction. This information is visible to the hypervisor, so that the
hypervisor can optimize purging of guest TLB entries. This also means that
pages which are used for dynamic address translation must not be marked as
"no-dat", since the hypervisor may then incorrectly not purge guest TLB
entries.
Region, segment, and page tables allocated within the gmap code are
incorrectly marked as "no-dat", since an explicit call to
arch_set_page_dat() is missing, which would remove the "no-dat" mark.
In order to fix this add a new gmap_alloc_crst() function which should
be used to allocate region and segment tables, and which also calls
arch_set_page_dat().
Also add the arch_set_page_dat() call to page_table_alloc_pgste().

s390/pci: fix iommu bitmap allocation

s390/cio: fix a memleak in css_alloc_subchannel
Since the fixed commits both zdev->iommu_bitmap and zdev->lazy_bitmap
are allocated as vzalloc(zdev->iommu_pages / 8). The problem is that
zdev->iommu_bitmap is a pointer to unsigned long but the above only
yields an allocation that is a multiple of sizeof(unsigned long) which
is 8 on s390x if the number of IOMMU pages is a multiple of 64.
This in turn is the case only if the effective IOMMU aperture is
a multiple of 64 * 4K = 256K. This is usually the case and so didn't
cause visible issues since both the virt_to_phys(high_memory) reduced
limit and hardware limits use nice numbers.
Under KVM, and in particular with QEMU limiting the IOMMU aperture to
the vfio DMA limit (default 65535), it is possible for the reported
aperture not to be a multiple of 256K however. In this case we end up
with an iommu_bitmap whose allocation is not a multiple of
8 causing bitmap operations to access it out of bounds.
Sadly we can't just fix this in the obvious way and use bitmap_zalloc()
because for large RAM systems (tested on 8 TiB) the zdev->iommu_bitmap
grows too large for kmalloc(). So add our own bitmap_vzalloc() wrapper.
This might be a candidate for common code, but this area of code will
be replaced by the upcoming conversion to use the common code DMA API on
s390 so just add a local routine.

When physical memory is defined under z/VM using DEF STOR CONFIG, there
may be memory holes that are not hotpluggable memory. In such cases,
DCSS mapping could be placed in one of these memory holes. Subsequently,
attempting memory access to such DCSS mapping would result in a kasan
failure because there is no shadow memory mapping for it.
To maintain consistency with cases where DCSS mapping is positioned after
the kernel identity mapping, which is then covered by kasan zero shadow
mapping, handle the scenario above by populating zero shadow mapping
for memory holes where DCSS mapping could potentially be placed.

One of the first things that s390x kernel functions do is storing the
the caller's frame address (backchain) on stack. This makes unwinding
possible. The backchain is always stored at frame offset 152, which is
inside the 160-byte stack area, that the functions allocate for their
callees. The callees must preserve the backchain; the remaining 152
bytes they may use as they please.
Currently the trampoline uses all 160 bytes, clobbering the backchain.
This causes kernel panics when using __builtin_return_address() in
functions called by the trampoline.
Fix by reducing the usage of the caller-reserved stack area by 8 bytes
in the trampoline.

Patch series "Fix set_huge_pte_at() panic on arm64", v2.
This series fixes a bug in arm64's implementation of set_huge_pte_at(),
which can result in an unprivileged user causing a kernel panic. The
problem was triggered when running the new uffd poison mm selftest for
HUGETLB memory. This test (and the uffd poison feature) was merged for
v6.5-rc7.
Ideally, I'd like to get this fix in for v6.6 and I've cc'ed stable
(correctly this time) to get it backported to v6.5, where the issue first
showed up.
Description of Bug
==================
arm64's huge pte implementation supports multiple huge page sizes, some of
which are implemented in the page table with multiple contiguous entries.
So set_huge_pte_at() needs to work out how big the logical pte is, so that
it can also work out how many physical ptes (or pmds) need to be written.
It previously did this by grabbing the folio out of the pte and querying
its size.
However, there are cases when the pte being set is actually a swap entry.
But this also used to work fine, because for huge ptes, we only ever saw
migration entries and hwpoison entries. And both of these types of swap
entries have a PFN embedded, so the code would grab that and everything
still worked out.
But over time, more calls to set_huge_pte_at() have been added that set
swap entry types that do not embed a PFN. And this causes the code to go
bang. The triggering case is for the uffd poison test, commit
99aa77215ad0 ("selftests/mm: add uffd unit test for UFFDIO_POISON"), which
causes a PTE_MARKER_POISONED swap entry to be set, coutesey of commit
8a13897fb0da ("mm: userfaultfd: support UFFDIO_POISON for hugetlbfs") -
added in v6.5-rc7. Although review shows that there are other call sites
that set PTE_MARKER_UFFD_WP (which also has no PFN), these don't trigger
on arm64 because arm64 doesn't support UFFD WP.
If CONFIG_DEBUG_VM is enabled, we do at least get a BUG(), but otherwise,
it will dereference a bad pointer in page_folio():
static inline struct folio *hugetlb_swap_entry_to_folio(swp_entry_t entry)
{
VM_BUG_ON(!is_migration_entry(entry) && !is_hwpoison_entry(entry));
return page_folio(pfn_to_page(swp_offset_pfn(entry)));
}
Fix
===
The simplest fix would have been to revert the dodgy cleanup commit
18f3962953e4 ("mm: hugetlb: kill set_huge_swap_pte_at()"), but since
things have moved on, this would have required an audit of all the new
set_huge_pte_at() call sites to see if they should be converted to
set_huge_swap_pte_at(). As per the original intent of the change, it
would also leave us open to future bugs when people invariably get it
wrong and call the wrong helper.
So instead, I've added a huge page size parameter to set_huge_pte_at().
This means that the arm64 code has the size in all cases. It's a bigger
change, due to needing to touch the arches that implement the function,
but it is entirely mechanical, so in my view, low risk.
I've compile-tested all touched arches; arm64, parisc, powerpc, riscv,
s390, sparc (and additionally x86_64). I've additionally booted and run
mm selftests against arm64, where I observe the uffd poison test is fixed,
and there are no other regressions.
This patch (of 2):
In order to fix a bug, arm64 needs to be told the size of the huge page
for which the pte is being set in set_huge_pte_at(). Provide for this by
adding an `unsigned long sz` parameter to the function. This follows the
same pattern as huge_pte_clear().
This commit makes the required interface modifications to the core mm as
well as all arches that implement this function (arm64, parisc, powerpc,
riscv, s390, sparc). The actual arm64 bug will be fixed in a separate
commit.
No behavioral changes intended.

A GISA cannot be destroyed as long it is linked in the GIB alert list
as this would break the alert list. Just waiting for its removal from
the list triggered by another vm is not sufficient as it might be the
only vm. The below shown cpu stall situation might occur when GIB alerts
are delayed and is fixed by calling process_gib_alert_list() instead of
waiting.
At this time the vcpus of the vm are already destroyed and thus
no vcpu can be kicked to enter the SIE again if for some reason an
interrupt is pending for that vm.
Additionally the IAM restore value is set to 0x00. That would be a bug
introduced by incomplete device de-registration, i.e. missing
kvm_s390_gisc_unregister() call.
Setting this value and the IAM in the GISA to 0x00 guarantees that late
interrupts don't bring the GISA back into the alert list.

arch_prepare_bpf_trampoline() for s390 currently returns 0 on success. This
is not a problem for regular trampoline. However, struct_ops relies on the
return value to advance "image" pointer:
bpf_struct_ops_map_update_elem() {
...
for_each_member(i, t, member) {
...
err = bpf_struct_ops_prepare_trampoline();
...
image += err;
}
}
When arch_prepare_bpf_trampoline returns 0 on success, all members of the
struct_ops will point to the same trampoline (the last one).
Fix this by returning the program size in arch_prepare_bpf_trampoline (on
success). This is the same behavior as other architectures.

- Couple of virtual vs physical address confusion fixes
- Rework locking in dcssblk driver to address a lockdep warning
- Remove support for "noexec" kernel command line option since there
is no use case where it would make sense
- Simplify kernel mapping setup and get rid of quite a bit of code
- Add architecture specific __set_memory_yy() functions which allow to
modify kernel mappings. Unlike the set_memory_xx() variants they
take void pointer start and end parameters, which allows to use them
without the usual casts, and also to use them on areas larger than
8TB.
Note that the set_memory_xx() family comes with an int num_pages
parameter which overflows with 8TB. This could be addressed by
changing the num_pages parameter to unsigned long, however requires
to change all architectures, since the module code expects an int
parameter (see module_set_memory()).
This was indeed an issue since for debug_pagealloc() we call
set_memory_4k() on the whole identity mapping. Therefore address
this for now with the __set_memory_yy() variant, and address common
code later
- Use dev_set_name() and also fix memory leak in zcrypt driver error
handling
- Remove unused lsi_mask from airq_struct
- Add warning for invalid kernel mapping requests

s390x eBPF programs use the following extension to the s390x calling
convention: tail call counter is passed on stack at offset
STK_OFF_TCCNT, which callees otherwise use as scratch space.
Currently trampoline does not respect this and clobbers tail call
counter. This breaks enforcing tail call limits in eBPF programs, which
have trampolines attached to them.
Fix by forwarding a copy of the tail call counter to the original eBPF
program in the trampoline (for fexit), and by restoring it at the end
of the trampoline (for fentry).

The only interface that allows drivers establishing
liner mappings is vmem_add_mapping(). It does check
a requested range against allowed limits and a call
to modify_pagetable() with an invalid mapping range
is impossible.
Hence, an attempt to map an address range outside of
the identity mapping or vmemmap array could only be
kernel bug.
