Moving the CONTEXT_TRACKING Kconfig option into kernel/time/Kconfig added an implicit dependency on the surrounding GENERIC_CLOCKEVENTS option, but this is not always enabled when it is possible to select VIRT_CPU_ACCOUNTING_GEN: WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for CONTEXT_TRACKING Depends on [n]: GENERIC_CLOCKEVENTS [=n] Selected by [y]: - VIRT_CPU_ACCOUNTING_GEN [=y] && <choice> && HAVE_CONTEXT_TRACKING [=y] && HAVE_VIRT_CPU_ACCOUNTING_GEN [=y] Platforms without GENERIC_CLOCKEVENTS are rare enough so that corner case can be just ignored. Make it a dependency for VIRT_CPU_ACCOUNTING_GEN to simplify the configuration. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
