Introduce a bridge v4l2 subdev to prepare for separation between the processing part (bridge) and the dma engine, which is required to properly support ths isp workflow later on. Currently the bridge just manages fwnode mapping to media pads, using an async notifier (which was previously in the main code). The s_stream video op just forwards to the connected v4l2 subdev (sensor or MIPI CSI-2 bridge). The video capture device is now registered after the bridge and attaches to it with a media link. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
