The variable ret is being assigned with a value that is never read both before and after a while-loop. The variable is being re-assigned inside the while-loop and afterwards on the call to the function i915_gem_object_lock_interruptible. Remove the redundants assignments. ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:

There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
