Merge branch 'docs-update-and-move-the-netdev-faq'
Jakub Kicinski says: ==================== docs: update and move the netdev-FAQ A section of documentation for tree-specific process quirks had been created a while back. There's only one tree in it, so far, the tip tree, but the contents seem to answer similar questions as we answer in the netdev-FAQ. Move the netdev-FAQ. Take this opportunity to touch up and update a few sections. v3: remove some confrontational? language from patch 7 v2: remove non-git in patch 3 add patch 5 ==================== Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20220330042505.2902770-1-kuba@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Paolo Abeni <pabeni@redhat.com>
Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
