We've previously had an issue where overflow flush unconditionally calls io_cqring_ev_posted() even if it didn't flush any events to the ring, causing wake and eventfd increment where no new events are available. Some applications don't like that, see commit b18032bb0a88 for details. This came up in discussion for another patch recently, hence add a comment detailing what the relationship between calling the events posted helper and CQ ring entries is. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
