[ Upstream commit 63bcf87cb1c57956e1179f1a78dde625c7e3cba7 ] When ARC_SOC_HSDK is enabled and RESET_CONTROLLER is disabled, it results in the following Kbuild warning: WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for RESET_HSDK Depends on [n]: RESET_CONTROLLER [=n] && HAS_IOMEM [=y] && (ARC_SOC_HSDK [=y] || COMPILE_TEST [=n]) Selected by [y]: - ARC_SOC_HSDK [=y] && ISA_ARCV2 [=y] The reason is that ARC_SOC_HSDK selects RESET_HSDK without depending on or selecting RESET_CONTROLLER while RESET_HSDK is subordinate to RESET_CONTROLLER. Honor the kconfig menu hierarchy to remove kconfig dependency warnings. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
