In the case where a vendor command does not implement doit, and has no flags set, doit would not be validated and a NULL pointer dereference would occur, for example when invoking the vendor command via iw. I encountered this while developing new vendor commands. Perhaps in practice it is advisable to always implement doit along with dumpit, but it seems reasonable to me to always check doit anyway, not just when NEED_WDEV. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
