The design of DEBUG_PAGEALLOC presumes that __kernel_map_pages() must never fail. With this assumption is wouldn't be safe to allow general usage of this function. Moreover, some architectures that implement __kernel_map_pages() have this function guarded by #ifdef DEBUG_PAGEALLOC and some refuse to map/unmap pages when page allocation debugging is disabled at runtime. As all the users of __kernel_map_pages() were converted to use debug_pagealloc_map_pages() it is safe to make it available only when DEBUG_PAGEALLOC is set. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
