The compat_get_timeval() and timeval_valid() interfaces are deprecated and getting removed along with the definition of struct timeval itself. Change the two implementations of the settimeofday() system call to open-code these helpers and completely avoid references to timeval. The timeval_valid() call is not needed any more here, only a check to avoid overflowing tv_nsec during the multiplication, as there is another range check in do_sys_settimeofday64(). Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
