This helper does not produce a real modalias, but tries to get the "product" compatible part of the "vendor,product" compatibles only. It is far from creating a purely useful modalias string and does not seem to be used like that directly anyway, so let's try to give this helper a more meaningful name before moving there a real modalias helper (already existing under of/device.c). Also update the various documentations to refer to the strings as "aliases" rather than "modaliases" which has a real meaning in the Linux kernel. There is no functional change. Cc: Rafael J. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
