Accessing the phy_device indirectly via the netdevice causes few issues: - Accessing the phy_device when it's not attached may cause a NPE. - If we have to access the phy_device when it's not attached we have to use mdiobus_get_phy() to get a reference to the phy_device. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
