If the source folio is on deferred split list, it is likely some subpages are not used. Split it before migration to avoid migrating unused subpages. Commit 616b8371539a6 ("mm: thp: enable thp migration in generic path") did not check if a THP is on deferred split list before migration, thus, the destination THP is never put on deferred split list even if the source THP might be. The opportunity of reclaiming free pages in a partially mapped THP during deferred list scanning is lost, but no other harmful consequence is present[1]. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
