After a transfer timeout, some faulty I2C slave devices might hold down the SDA pin. We can generate a bus clear command, hoping that the slave might release the pins. If the CLEAR command is not supported, we will use gpio recovery, if available, to reset the bus. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
