When the buffer is enabled for ina2xx driver, a dedicated kthread is invoked to capture mesurement data. When the buffer is disabled, the kthread is stopped. However if the kthread gets register access errors, it immediately exits and when the malfunctional buffer is disabled, the stale task_struct pointer is accessed as there is no kthread to be stopped. A similar issue in the usbip driver is prevented by kthread_get_run and kthread_stop_put helpers by increasing usage count of the task_struct. This change applies the same solution. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
