The PF driver state flag __I40E_VIRTCHNL_OP_PENDING needs to be checked and set at the beginning of i40e_ndo_set_vf_mac. Otherwise, if there are error conditions before it, the flag will be cleared unexpectedly by this function to cause potential race conditions. Hence move the check to the top of this function. ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
