The request rq passed to the function bfq_requests_merged is always in a bfq_queue, so the check !RB_EMPTY_NODE(&rq->rb_node) at the beginning of bfq_requests_merged always succeeds, and the control flow systematically skips to the end of the function. This implies that the body of the function is never executed, i.e., the repositioning of rq is never performed. On the opposite end, a control is missing in the body of the function: 'next' must be removed only if it is inside a bfq_queue. This commit removes the wrong check on rq, and adds the missing check on 'next'. In addition, this commit adds comments on bfq_requests_merged. There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
