hidp_send_message was changed to return non-zero values on success, which some other bits did not expect. This caused spurious errors to be propagated through the stack, breaking some drivers, such as hid-sony for the Dualshock 4 in Bluetooth mode. As pointed out by Dan Carpenter, hid-microsoft directly relied on that assumption as well. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
