seq_fid_alloc_fini() is tiny and only called from two places in the one function. We can move both those calls earlier and merge them so only one call is needed. At that point, there is no value added by having a separate function. Also instead of using ++ and -- on ->lcs_update to toggle between 0 and 1, explicitly set to 0 or 1 as appropriate. Moving the locking earlier means that the code which updates seq->lcs_fid is now protected, so ldebugfs_fid_fid_seq_show() now cannot see a torn value. Linux kernel ============ This file was moved to Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst Please notice that there are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
