commit 33a7813219f208f4952ece60ee255fd983272dec upstream. Fix a potential deadlock if disconnect races with open. Since commit d4ead16f50f9 ("USB: prevent char device open/deregister race") core holds an rw-semaphore while open is called and when releasing the minor number during deregistration. This can lead to an ABBA deadlock if a driver takes a lock in open which it also holds during deregistration. This effectively reverts commit 78663ecc344b ("USB: disconnect open race in legousbtower") which needlessly introduced this issue after a generic fix for this race had been added to core by commit d4ead16f50f9 ("USB: prevent char device open/deregister race"). Linux kernel ============ This file was moved to Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst Please notice that there are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
