Some distros put -fstack-protector-strong in the compiler flags to be used to build python extensions, but then, the clang version in that distro doesn't know about that, only gcc does. Check if that is the case and remove it from the set of options used to build the python binding with clang. ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:

There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
