Reserve the x18 register from general allocation when SCS is enabled, because the compiler uses the register to store the current task's shadow stack pointer. Note that all external kernel modules must also be compiled with -ffixed-x18 if the kernel has SCS enabled. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
