On some SoCs, such as the i.MX6, it is necessary to set a bit in the SoC level GPR register before suspending for wake on lan to work. The fec platform callback sleep_mode_enable was intended to allow this but the platform implementation was NAK'd back in 2015 [1] This means that, currently, wake on lan is broken on mainline for the i.MX6 at least. So implement the required bit setting in the fec driver by itself by adding a new optional DT property indicating the GPR register and adding the offset and bit information to the driver. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
