[ Upstream commit c3137ab6318d56370dd5541ebf027ddfc0c8557c ] Only the root "events" directory stores a dentry. There's no reason to hold a dentry pointer for every eventfs_inode as it is never set except for the root "events" eventfs_inode. Create a eventfs_root_inode structure that holds the events_dir dentry. The "events" eventfs_inode *is* special, let it have its own descriptor. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
