Similarly to kmsan_vmap_pages_range_noflush(), kmsan_ioremap_page_range() must also properly handle allocation/mapping failures. In the case of such, it must clean up the already created metadata mappings and return an error code, so that the error can be propagated to ioremap_page_range(). Without doing so, KMSAN may silently fail to bring the metadata for the page range into a consistent state, which will result in user-visible crashes when trying to access them. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
