7a9efc5fae lvresize: allow mixing striped with errors or zero
Enabled extension/mixing of stripes/linears, error and zero
segtype LVs with stripes/linear, error and zero segtypes.

It is not very useful in practice, as the user cannot store any real
data on error or zero segtypes, but it may get some uses in
some scenarios where i.e. some portion of the device should not be
readable. Mixing of types happens on 'extent_size' level:

  lvcreate -L1 -n lv vg
  lvextend --type error -L+1 vg/lv
  lvextend --type zero -L+1 vg/lv
  lvextend --type linear -L+1 vg/lv
  lvextend --type striped -L+1 vg/lv

  lvs -o+segtype,seg_size vg

Note: when the type is not specified, the last segment type is
automatically selected.

It's also a small 'can of worms' since we can't tell LVs if
the LV is linear/error/zero or their mixtures. So the meaning behind
them may need some updates.

We already have this types of LV created i.e by:

  vgreduce --removemissing --force

where missing LV segments have been replaced by either
error or zero segtype (lvm.conf).

TODO: it might be worth adding a message while such device is activated.

85e68a8333 lvextend: refresh shared LV remotely using dlm/corosync
When lvextend extends an LV that is active with a shared
lock, use this as a signal that other hosts may also have
the LV active, with gfs2 mounted, and should have the LV
refreshed to reflect the new size. Use the libdlmcontrol
run api, which uses dlm_controld/corosync to run an
lvchange --refresh command on other cluster nodes.

d44e653fe1 lvresize: do not pass struct cmd
Use common API design and pass just LV pointer to lv_manip.c functions.
Read cmd struct via lv->vg->cmd when needed.
Also do not try to return EINVALID_CMD_LINE error when we
have already openned VG - this error code can only be returned before
locking VG.

8cfc385491 toollib: make it possible to also process internal VGs, add 'include_internal' switch to process_each_vg fn
The lvm fullreport works per VG and as such, the vg, lv, pv, seg and
pvseg subreport is done for each VG. However, if the PV is not part of
any VG yet, we still want to display pv and pvseg subreports for these
"orphan" PVs - so enable this for lvm fullreport's process_each_vg call.

f752a95302 toollib: add 'parent' field to processing_handle; init report format only if there's no parent
If there's parent processing handle, we don't need to create completely
new report group and status report - we'll just reuse the one already
initialized for the parent.

Currently, the situation where this matter is when doing internal report
to do the selection for processing commands where we have parent processing
handle for the command itself and processing handle for the selection
part (that is selection for non-reporting tools).

3ec4813ba2 coverity: fix missing initialization
... Using uninitialized value "lockd_state" when calling "lockd_vg"
(even though lockd_vg assigns 0 to the lockd_state, but it looks at
previous state of lockd_state just before that so we need to have
that properly initialized!)

libdm/libdm-report.c:2934: uninit_use_in_call: Using uninitialized value "tm". Field "tm.tm_gmtoff" is uninitialized when calling "_get_final_time".

daemons/lvmlockd/lvmlockctl.c:273: uninit_use_in_call: Using uninitialized element of array "r_name" when calling "format_info_r_action". (just added FIXME as this looks unfinished?)

7c6526aae2 lvresize: separate validation from action
Start separating the validation from the action in the basic lvresize
code moved to the library.

exporting public versions of the error codes in lvm2cmd.h for dmeventd
plugins to use.

bb70b38021 lvresize: improve poolmetadatasize

c888c925b8 thin: enable resize for thin pool metadata LV
Support 'clasic' way of resizing of metadata LV.
Normally we disallow to work with internal 'invisible' devices.
But in this case we can make an exception and if user has some
special needs how to extend thin pool metadata LV - support it.

After resize of metadata LV, the pool will be suspended and resumed,
to be notified of this change.

and the first option resizes accoding to the last metadata lv segment.

For example, the old call and reference:

c3eb3a7687 cleanup: Use segtype->ops->name() instead of segtype->name where applicable
When printing a message for the user and the lv_segment pointer is available,
use segtype->ops->name() instead of segtype->name. This gives a better
user-readable name for the segment. This is especially true for the
'striped' segment type, which prints "linear" if there is an area_count of
one.

438e0050df config: add silent mode

Suppress non-essential standard output if -q is given twice.
Treat log/silent in lvm.conf as equivalent to -qq.
Review all log_print messages and change some to

When silent, the following commands still produce output:
dumpconfig, lvdisplay, lvmdiskscan, lvs, pvck, pvdisplay,
pvs, version, vgcfgrestore -l, vgdisplay, vgs.
[Needs checking.]

Non-essential messages are shifted from log level 4 to log level 5
for syslog and lvm2_log_fn purposes.
